MISS GIRL MISS GIRL
Ok but??? Why isnât anyone talking about the fact that Jayceâs shoulder armor (on his councilor outfit) LITERALLY mirrors Melâs shoulder armor.
Case in point. And their signature/primary colors are both white. We love to see it.
Chill anyways follow my Mel/Arcane blog for more content!
Hi anyway Mel and Jayce are a wonderful, healthy, loving couple, and Iâm tired of seeing hate about it! Jayce and Viktor are almost better as friends in this situation because theyâre both guys who will openly show compassion and emotion! And thatâs what I loved about Arcane: they literally broke so many stereotypes with all the characters!
Anyway this is a Mel/Jayce Stan page now. Protect them.
Jinx, after blowing up top-side in act 3: Now thatâs what I call a pentakill.
âThe Darkling brought Alina flowers he obviously cares!â No he heard that from Mal and used it as a way to win brownie points. Yâall actually think he cares about her??? He uses her 24/7 and people are so quick to ship it because heâs a âhot angsty guyâ. This isnât an enemies-lovers or anything with real redemption, this is just toxic lol.
~Spoilers for the Tangled series~
Aight but as an adoptee myself, I was literally so disappointed with Cass becoming evil because Gothel abandoned her (and she was adopted). She gets mad at Rapunzel for stealing her mother, even though Rapunzel was.. kidnapped??? Iâm really tired of the trope with adoptions where the adoptee has a villain arc over it. Itâs awful what happened to Cass, and it wouldâve been a good development point, instead of a whole villain arc.
My thoughts on catradora (spoilers!)
Disclaimer-these are just my feelings, and Iâm in no way upset with anyone who watches the show/ships them. Itâs just my opinion so no harm here đ
So. Catradora. When I first started watching Shera, I absolutely loved them. In s1 mainly, they were a classic âenemies-loversâ trope, and throughout all the bickering, you could see the compassion that they had for one another. Catra tries to get Adora to come back, and she even helps her and her friends escape (with the famous âthis isnât because I like youâ line)
However.
This becomes toxic for a few reasons. Thinking back to the episode where theyâre trapped together and having flashbacks-Catra leaves Adora. She leaves her hanging for her life on the edge of the cliff, and Adora is absolutely devestated by this. Their bickering, their general fight against each other would be acceptable given that theyâre âenemiesâ at this point, but leaving her to die? This just completely loses the point.
Thereâs also the flashback in a later season, where Catra feels left out by Adora, and slaps her. It cuts her face and Adora runs off crying. Thereâs the continual moments of manipulation, and sheâs constantly trying to hurt her friends. She ships Entrapta off out of pure jealousy with Hordak, even though she knows Entrapta is Adoraâs friend.
Now. Is catradora abu/ive? I wouldnât say itâs outright like that, but it feels very toxic to me. At the end, I genuinely did like how they played it out and they were very sweet, but I feel like this doesnât change the toxicity that the ship holds. People defend it by saying itâs just a trait of Enemies to Lovers, but then Iâd like to direct us to The Dragon Prince.
This is an excellent example of that trope done right. Rayla is literally sent to kill Ezran (and then she thinks itâs Callum, hence why she tries to kill him), but she doesnât do it. She was having trouble with it, and she realizes itâs wrong, never actually harming either of them, or ever threatening too again. No one is fearful there. No one is hurt, and thatâs why Rayllum is healthy in my opinion. Thereâs nothing manipulative here. (And I genuinely donât prefer one show to the other either. I actually watched both at the same time!)
To end, Iâm not saying that itâs *wrong* to like catradora-the end of the show made it kind of hard to dislike them completely. However, I just think it should be made aware, because sometimes apologizing isnât enough to make up for the toxicity of a relationship.
Why Felicityâs disability was handled poorly.
~Writren by someone with physical disabilities
So Iâll just start by saying the obvious. Arrow spoilers for s4 and onward!
Felicity is paralyzed in the car crash in the midseason finale of season 4. Obviously, she struggles with this, she struggles to find her place on the team and she even worries that Oliver will leave her due to her paralysis. Itâs also said that her spinal cord damage was permanent. She was going to be in a wheelchair *forever*.
Her character arc takes her through this, adapting to team arrow, adapting to running the company-all while in a wheelchair, and trying not to worry about her fiancée and friends risking their lives in the field every day. It takes a huge amount of courage, and progress on her part to make it through this-something that I admired.
However. Her disability is reversed when she receives the spinal implant that fixes her paralyzation. While miracles can happen, this wasnât the result of a miracle doctor or years of physical therapy-this was a spinal implant from a fictional type of technology that helped her walk again. This completely undos all her development with her learning how to adapt, and feels very off to me. Felicity is a strong character. She adapted to her disability and overcame it. That doesnât justify simply undoing it for a cheap plot point.
I genuinely enjoyed Arrow for the most part. I still rewatch an episode or two here or there, but this is where I began to drift. Iâm not going to outright call the writers ableist or anything, I just think that they maybe shouldâve consulted people with disabilities first to see how to best handle it. Or, if they only wanted it to be temporary, donât give her a permanent condition in the first place.
People are welcome to disagree, but through my rewatching, these are my thoughts!
I agree. And they barely talked about it after she walked again.
This. And I want to make it clear that I personally donât have a problem with Emily playing a paralyzed character, but they needed to.. follow through. Emily herself wanted this, and she felt awful for what the directors did.

Watching ATLA for the first time, season 2 finale (spoilers)
Literally HOW MANY TIMES are they gonna give Zuko a redemption and then make him turn back to the Fire Nation??? And before anyone says anything, I genuinely like Zuko. Homie has some SERIOUS character development and I love how rich and involved it is. But when you keep going back and forth THIS MUCH it just kind of feels exhausting as a viewer. Like I think his decision on siding with Team Avatar or Azula couldâve been a pivotal moment for him, but instead he was still fixated on his honor (which goes against the development we saw of him realizing he didnât need it anymore).
Donât get me wrong, I love the show, but I just canât with this choice in particular đ
Riverdale s5 spoilers, proceed at your own risk!
Hey. Hey fam. 5 seconds of research wouldâve told you that you CANNOT ask a military bus to stop so you can get out and hug your friends. It does NOT work like that. Also another 5 seconds would tell you that all diplomas are empty. Your diploma gets mailed to you later!
Sincerely, a writer who at least does her research. Ty
Sorry but, are you trying to tell me that they were going to KILL Madi for being paralyzed? I realize fully that there was an extent to her brain damage, but theyâve come back from odds before, and otherwise her mind was working fine. That just really doesnât sit right with me. The show has always seemed kinda iffy with disabilities, but this just REALLY doesnât feel right.
Bellarke isnât a healthy ship.
I know people will come at me for this, but it isnât healthy.
*there will be 100 spoilers in this post, as well as potential trigger warnings. Please be advised*
Bellamy has some of the BEST character development Iâve seen. As a writer, as an actor, I admire the development he goes through. However, this cannot, and will not excuse their prior relationship. Enemies to lovers is one of my favorite tropes. You can do it so beautifully, or you can do it overboard. Unfortunately, bellarke is the later of the two.
He threatens to kill everyone and anyone in s1 just to get the bracelets removed. He threatens to forcefully cut Clarkeâs bracelet off by any means necessary, including cutting her hand off. He tries to withhold food from people, bullies them, and even when she begs him not to, he hangs John up.
Yes, he goes through changes. Yes he *would* protect her as time goes on, but can that really excuse what happened? This wasnât just mocking and hurtful words, this was *physical* and threats. Bellamy is understandably traumatized. He has his reasons and he does get redemption, I would agree to that. However their relationship is *not* healthy. Even on Clarkeâs side I canât say that her actions are healthy for him either. They deserve to be loved, but not with each other.
They had the potential for chemistry, and they had the potential to be good with each other, but I firmly believe they went through way too much to ever be considered healthy.
Love when shows have the classically clichĂš âIâm doing this for everyoneâ line. It just makes me laugh so hard EVERY time because. Itâs just so clichĂš.
I swear this wonât be a musical account, but I think BMC gets too much hate. I know itâs super cringey, but thatâs the whole point of it. Itâs entirely based on the book Be More Chill which mocks and makes fun of high school stereotypes and cringe in general. It isnât supposed to be serious, itâs just supposed to be funny. Of course I can completely understand why people dislike it, but I think more people need to understand the base.
Since this is a Bucky page and I donât post Bucky, I like to remember that the MCU did him dirty because he was canonly with Nat in the comics, but the MCU erased his relationship with her despite the fact that even Sebastian Stan was against it đ„° yeah Iâm salty
