The big bad Klaus Mikaelson backing down because of Elena Gilbert? That had Enzo dumbfounded…as did the news of Elena’s precious cargo. It wasn’t so much his funeral as it seemed to be a celebration between the two of them. Enzo should feel something, remorse, guilt…anything but yet it was overshadowed by the utter confusion he had right now. From what was fear quickly transpired into the expected response. “Well don’t let me intrude on this little family gathering.” While he should hold his tongue while he had it his sarcasm was never unfished. “Congratulations by the way.” He said, directly towards Elena before having the nerve to add on to that. “Hope and Prosperity to you. Both.” The Hope part well intended after what Tessa had told him about Klaus’s leisurely activities.
Her words grab the attention of the original, and he asks her if she’s sure, reminding her just what the actions of the vampire could have cost her. Not only her life, but the life of her child. Even as he asks, she isn’t sure she’s making the right choice in asking him to let him go. If one thing was abundantly apparent now, it was that for all his complaints about her, he didn’t know how to shut up. Any illusion of privacy and secrecy regarding their child would be gone, and there would be no way to stop it. She’d regret it later, of that she was sure, but she nodded in a silent answer to his question, watching as he loosened his grip on the vampire. That should have been the end of it, if Lorenzo St. John had a brain he might have shut up and taken off, instead he continued to talk as if he was the funniest person alive. The very real threat he posed still echoed in her ears, and her heart was still racing in her chest. In a far less kind tone than the one she used with the hybrid, she snapped “Unless you want one of us to change our mind, Enzo, I’d leave. Now.”
Klaus let out a growl at Enzo’s congratulations. He didn’t trust the man, not now. He had to worry about his enemies coming for Hope before she was born and now there was a possibility of Enzo or anyone who held a grudge coming for Elena and this baby. The thought terrified him, but he didn’t want to show it. When Elena told the vampire to leave Klaus let go, then rushed to Elena’s side. His arm went around her, but his eyes were still glaring at Enzo. He was fully prepared to still rip his heart from his chest. “I’d do as she says.”
