When I tell people I don’t like amusement parks and roller coasters they like to giggle and tell me I have some kind of hight related phobia.

A phobia is the irrational fear of some thing. There is nothing irrational about being afraid to subject myself to something that would have me racing around high off the ground in looptyloops were I could get hit in the face by a bird or fall out due to faulty safety equipment, or the whole thing could just fall apart. Also I could just have a heart attack/stroke and just die.

And for what? Thrills? I get my thrills from sex, drawing, and watching new YouTube videos, 3 things way less likely to backfire and kill me.

Fear is something every one has, phobias are special cases that are completely different.

Your worth as an artist is not determined by the number of Tumblr notes you get. Followers are NOT a currency. Don’t worry about instant gratification, because you’re creating something only you can own for the rest of your life! It will take you longer to build up an audience around something that doesn’t have a pre-loaded fanbase. In fact it’ll probably take longer than you think, but you’ll have a much more satisfying artistic career.
