My rules here are pretty lax, but know that I am a minor and will block nsfw content/blogs should you cross my path. Or if you're a jerk. I will also dabble in gore and body horror drawings occasionally. View at your own risk.
I have a Pharloomblr RP blog - @bilewater-vessel if you'd like to talk to a vessel.
I'm participating in Artfight this year on team Mystery! Here's my profile:

Someone said “The slow burn of becoming yourself” and I think that might be one of the most beautiful things I have ever heard. It’s such a good reminder of how much it takes, how much character development, how much change, and beauty and courage it takes to reach your soul and I hope no one ever gives up on becoming themselves because it’s a never ending journey that only gets better.
And I love you, @infinito-proshipfinito-choco @hermit-the-moth @jakejavu-offical @grandexcessivecoremode @hirointheshamen @twice-nickel-reblogs @duckofmisfortuneoffical @sunny-funny-honey-pants Uhhhhhhh I think that's everyone? Nope, there's still @northwxrds and @astralfmboi

I love the mental image of all four parents with wires plugged into the two pill babies. Like they're sitting in a summoning circle to bring forth the most gremlin children.
I LOVE THIS . summoning the most gremlin babies ever to bless/curse the bunker for all of time
Genuine question, why do you (and many others) consider Phantom and Lace to be black? I'm genuinely curious about this.
really it ties into the fact that lace's entire character arch can be very easily read through the lens of a mysoginoir narrative.
in regards to her homelife, lace is expected to be absolutely perfect. all of her edges are sanded down to make something innocent and young and cute. she is not allowed to look out of sorts. she is something pure and perfect.
putting this as an aside bc its personal anticdote type things, but black women are NOT allowed to look anything other than put together when they step outside the house, or it reflects poorly on them. obviously women have notoriously higher standards they're held to than men, but it is significantly worse when you aren't white. like, on a collage campus, white students could show up to the dining room in pajamas and slippers with messy hair and no one bats an eye. if i did anything close to that, people would subconsciously be making assumptions about me. that i'm messy, or lazy, or dirty, or that i come from a home where no one ever tends to themselves.
the fact that purity is something harped on so frequently- beyond being a purely religious motif- is notable to me in the sense that it's equivalent to currency. it is something lace needs to be respected. and it is something she constantly needs to attain. for a white woman, purity is something 'bestowed' to them. they're 'born with it'. for a black woman, purity is a constant act of maintenance, and once that illusion is lost in someone's mind, you can't ever get it back.
to outsiders, lace is some kind of nebulous threat. other bugs rotate between infantilizing her and condemning her lethality at the drop of a hat, and none of them spare a moment to even consider the irony of doing so. lace, to them, is whoever they need her to be. a child when they merely dislike her, and a violent threat when they feel unsafe. there is no thought to the circumstances in which she was born or raised. no thought when everyone believes hornet murdered her. she is naive and childlike, then she is a problematic threat, and then she is gone, and everyone goes about their lives.
there's also just the motif of lace discovering who she is post her mother's absence, and comparing it to black women finally growing into their own once they're exposed to an accepting community.
it is incredibly insidious how much a white community can ostracize you from other people like you. my own parents (raised in predominantly black communities) inevitably told me (raised in white communities) that while i was first growing up, they didn't really know how to interact with me. they found my mannerisms so bizarre and unlike the child they were expecting. there were lessons they never taught me because they were under the assumption my community would teach me the way their community taught them.
and then there's the way it separates you from yourself. i hated my hair as a kid. i hated my name. i hated all the ways i was made different from the people around me. i was lucky enough to live in a place where people didn't really bully me, and i STILL found myself feeling like i didn't belong. that sort of thing sticks in your subconscious, and it can take a really long time to get rid of. especially if you don't know it's there.
lace is an outsider. she's a something-else, separated from the only person similar to her, and therefore the only tether she has to anything resembling community. she is being held to lofty standards above regular bugs, which she constantly considers herself as significantly lesser than. any flaw will be observed- if not by the outsiders around her, then by her mother, who will pull her back into that state of artificial-perfection by force. lace is a square peg threatening to kill herself over the fact she's trying to be fit into a thimble-sized round hole. and everyone thinks She's the problem. that is a scathed and starving black woman. i asked team cherry and they said so.
"I asked ChatGPT-" yeah and I spoke into the dark void of my closet, the one that my dog keeps barking at. The voice from inside is very, very insightful on many a subject.
"I asked ChatGPT-" yeah and I shuffled my cat tarots and got an insight from them about my inescapable fate to which we are all linked to and cannot run away from. Their ineffable knowledge on any matter somehow fell short of suggesting me what I should have for dinner. I don't wanna eat kibbles but if you say it's my fate then...
"I asked ChatGPT—" shut up, I spoke to The Ending and, despite the insatiable madness that calls to me and may or may not lead to my early demise, it was a rather insightful conversation.
