Gem is easily one of the most bold hermits in the way she just loves casually bossing people around. Her behavior stands out so starkly compared to almost every other hermit on the server. That's not even an insult she just has such a vastly more dominant personality than the entire rest of the server. All the other hermits hate bothering people and telling other people what to do and I think it's actually a relief for some of them that Gem doesn't mind taking charge and giving orders. In fact she enjoys it! She loves organizing people and assigning tasks. There is a reason she was the one to rally everyone to finish that volcano last season. That shit was NOT getting done without her. She's one of the few hermits that will loudly declare that she needs helps and/or someone's expertise without hesitation and it makes the others feel valued. You can hear the fondness in her fellow hermits' voices when they inevitably agree to help with whatever she has demanded of them. This is enrichment for them too! Everyone benefits here!

I think Gem has started to gradually realize that the hermits will just kind of cave to whatever she asks and now I think she enjoys just seeing how far she can push it. Joel wanted blackstone for his build and while she could have just given it to him or sold it to him for diamonds she instead asks him to sing Shake It Off by Taylor Swift for her. And he does. He puts his whole Jussy into performing it actually.
