Damn was married life great.
Kento knew marrying you would be the best thing he'd ever do in his life, but he wasn't expecting everything to feel so… new.
Nothing much had changed after you had gotten married, besides the fact that you would be living in the same house as each other, but even before, when you were only dating, you often visited Kento's apartment at least three times a week and stayed overnight.
Maybe it was just the domesticity of it all.
It'd been about a month since your wedding and moving-in, and Kento cherished every second of the passing days. He adored waking up next to you all the time, and he was already used to your strange living habits, so he was able to put up with them like they were completely normal. He loved watching you snore whenever he woke up a bit earlier in the morning, simply taking the time out of the first minutes of his starting day to brush away stray strands of hair from your plush, glowing morning face.
He adored brushing his teeth beside you as you went about your little skincare routine, rambling on and on to him about your expectations and goals for the day while applying moisturizer. He adored being able to eat breakfast with you every morning, drinking his coffee that he would now only drink if it was made by you, or with your favorite recipe.
He adored coming back home from work to your loving arms and warm praise. He adored eating takeout with you on the nights when you were both too tired from work to cook, sitting on the couch in front of the television, binging your favorite drama together.
One of the many new things he needed to add to his list of adoration for you was watching you try out new recipes on his days off.
Today, you had your hair done all nicely in a messy ponytail with a scrunchie, feet warmed by fuzzy socks, dressed in one of his big shirts, covered by your cute pink apron (of course, he had one that matched yours; all frilly and nice, but it was a pale yellow, contrasting nicely with your soft pinks), and hands shimmering with oil and butter from the cookie dough you were currently kneading and pounding with your tiny fists.
You just looked like you were up to baking trouble, and Nanami watched from the doorway with amusement.
Your phone was propped up against a store-bought can of Dough-Boy croissant dough, and a video on how to make a cookie croissant was playing on full volume. You were thrown off track by how strange the texture of raw cookie dough was, smoothing it in your hands as you tried to play around with the feeling. It was an adorable sight to him.
"How's it coming along, honey?"
"Good! Can you replay the video for me? It's going too fast..."
He complies, coming over to tap your phone screen, "It seems like you're not making much progress... You're still playing with the cookie dough like when I last saw you,"
"Well, this stuff is distracting. It's so gooey..."
The next few minutes were spent giggling and poking the dough together before you actually got to work. Kento popped open the can of croissant dough for you, unrolling each triangular strip and laying it out on the baking sheet.
Side by side at the kitchen counter, you both got to work, following what the video was saying to do. Eventually, each strip was filled with a layer of the mushy cookie dough you had thoroughly punched the life out of and then rolled up into little croissant blobs.
All that was left was to bake it and brew some tea to eat it with.
"Ken, I think the dough in the middle is a little raw," You said, squinting your eyes as you inspected the monstrous cookie-croissant hybrid you just took a bite out of.
"Yes, well... if you avoid that part, it really does taste delicious-"
"Don't lie, there's enough sugar in there for you to go on a dessert ban for the rest of the year,"
"Nonsense. I... would gladly buy this if it was in a bakery... just the way it is..."
back with another short drabble! nothing too special. i figured i should write something cute and simple after disappearing for months. i was also craving cookie croissants a while ago before I wrote this, they're delicious looking monstrosities…
