Your hooves made a distinctive noise, an unnatural sound.. unfamiliar to most. You watched as your hooves touched the cold concrete, your mind empty. You kept walking ahead, desensitizing.
After a couple minutes, your hooves landed on a different set of concrete. With a heavy heart, you titled your head upwards.
Your eye twitched in annoyance. There was a stupid pencil over the doors, stars around it to make it seem all innocent and peachy. The trees surrounding the school makes it look prestigious with it's many windows. What tops it off was a giant leaf symbol on the top.
What a joke. Letting out a huff, you trotted towards the entrance.
Just before you reached for the knob, a thought flashed through your head.
Right.. your appearance. Sighing, you ran your hands through your hair and covered your horn to your best ability.. You groaned before using small bits of magic to cover the rest. You grabbed your tail, smoothing out any crinkles. You moved to your outfit, fixing the collar and straightening your tie. You almost walked into this hell, looking like a delinquent.
Holding a hand to your neck, you cleared your throat. You started to prep, your voice pitching higher and more softer.
"Ahem. Ah.. LaaAAAah~" You nodded, feeling proud of yourself. You let out a chortle, chin high and confidence above the skies.
You finally opened the doors, your gaze immediately scanning the hallways.
Lockers littered the many hallways, students chatting by them with smiles on their faces. You blinked at the sight. This.. doesn't look like hell. Huh?
Your ears twitched. Internally, you were screaming at yourself to keep going forward- to pick up your damn hooves.
"Hey.. you look new! Are you lost?"
You snapped out of your thoughts when a masculine voice pierced through them.
The boy's bright feathers were what caught your eye first. Your eyes trailed downwards, glancing briefly at his white messy hair that was tied in a low ponytail. Hehasatailomganditsalsowagging. You shook your head, meeting his gaze.
You instantly got into your innocent act. Twiddling your thumbs,"Oh.. yes, I am.." You let out a soft laugh, closing your eyes.
"I'm a new student, kinda confused.." You scratched nervously at your cheek, trying to make yourself look weak and polite.
"Ah! I knew it!" He made a fist, slamming it down onto his open palm. His orbs sparkled at you, his smile growing brighter. His hand made its way to your back as he stands besides you.
"I'll walk you to the principal's office! Then, afterwards.. I'll show you around school." He pushed you forward and you forced yourself to walk. Your mind was going by so fast. You're not even an registered student.. You were hoping that someone would just walk you to the door and leave you alone for you to explore-
The boy perks up, turning his head to you, "Oh right! My name is Engel, what's yours?"
Your head was hanging low before you tilted it, "Hm? Oh.." You pressed your lips into a thin line, your dead expression snapping back to a cheerful one.
"Ahh~ Yea! My name is (___)" Your face scrunched up from your terribly huge smile, ears tilting downwards. Engel continued to yap about the school, his hands gesturing every once in a while. You kept nodding, still cursing in your head.
You then felt your shoulders getting grabbed, pulling you back roughly. Engel's yelped in your ear, high pitched.
"You almost walked into the door! I hope I didn't hurt you too bad.." Engel patted your shoulder, his voice filled with compassion. He gave you another smile, a thumbs up as in to say- "I got you". You still don't know if you liked him or not. With a sigh, you gave him a thumbs up back with a fake smile.
You grumbled to yourself when he stood off to the side, waiting for you to be done talking to the principal. Opening the door, you watched as the long white haired woman behind the desk glance up at you. She paused, sitting up straight.
Your eyes landed on the nameplate, "Miss Grace" is written neatly on it. You then put back on your mask of lies, smiling softly at her.
"Sorry to interrupt you.. But I'm a new student.. Engel told me to ask you for my schedule..?" You made your voice meek, timid and slightly shaking.. Hopefully she doesn't see through the facade.
Miss Grace stayed silent, a hand holding her chin as she rotated to the side. Her face was stern before she sighed. "Hm. I didn't get any news about a new student.." She tapped away at her computer, her face becoming more scrunched up by the second. A cold shiver sneaked down your spine. You clenched your fist, your eyes glowing a soft (favorite color). You mess around with your hair, revealing your horn.
Time for plan B. Fuck this.
"You're not in any fil-" When Miss Grace turned to you, her face drops. You see her pupils dilate and abruptly stands up-
Only to sit back down when you raise your hand. Your hair now disheveled and your sharp horn on full display- with your wings exposed, showing who you truly are.
"I thought you were gone for good-" Rage filled her face as she spat out her words. You tilted your head innocently, smiling down at her form that was now bent over her desk.
You cover your mouth, your eyes glinting the same dangerous color.
You fiddled with the crisp paper in your hands, reading the time and classes..
The writing was poorly done. It was obviously not an official, fully typed and printed one.. But, it'll do. You clutch the paper to your chest, closing the door shut behind you. Engel was leaning against the wall, typing on his phone with a ghost of a smile. You waved the paper in his face, tilting your head with a faint smile yourself.
"Got it~.." As soon as Engel sees you, his tail starts to wag. He then places a hand back on your shoulder. He takes big strides, fingers pointing at every little detail. This time, you listened and nodded along.
Your ears twitched when you heard faint snickers from behind. You halted and slowly craned your neck back with a cold glance. You spotted three other students, huddling close together as if you couldn't see them. Engel looks over to you, innocently angling his head as well.
You covered his face, letting out a stifled laugh. You gave him a smile, "It's nothing.. Don't even worry about it!" You quicken your pace down the hallway with Engel jogging to catch up.
The two friends made their way to a classroom with one nervously glancing at the other.
Engel gives you a thumbs up, an unsure smile on his face.
"Try to pay attention to your classes, alright..? If you're struggling- You can study with me and my friends! Please reach out.." He gives you one more look before turning to go to his class. You waved him off despite his back turned. Your smile dropping.
You opened the door and the first thing you noticed was the giant box cutter. You blinked before looking up to meet your newest teacher's scowl.
Waving your hand, you gave her a closed eye smile.
"Good morning.. I'm a new student-"
"I wasn't told that we had a new student." She rudely interrupted, her gaze scrutinizing and cold. Giving her a strained smile, you pointed over at her desk.
"You should be getting an email about it soon.." You trailed off, letting her check. You took the time to examine the room, noting many science and chemistry themes. Eyes were on you but you ignored it, pressing your lips into a thin line.
Miss Bloomie points towards a random student sitting in the back, "You may sit with Lana." She gives a creepy smile to said Lana- "Lana. Raise your hand."
Exhaling, you trotted towards the girl with sock puppets as hands. You sat down next to her, cheek laying in your hand. Lana seems to be vibrating with excitement.. stars in her eyes.
This is going to be a long period.
