Brb thinking about Duke Thomas, showing up in the manor and having to cope with the fact that Bruce Wayne 100% doesn't see how right Hood is for Gotham and having to stfu about it
Because Telling Batman that hes wrong? He's not at that level yet. But every time he hears about Hoods "reckless" behavior he has to bite his tounge from saying anything-
Hood shot up a new gang terrritory "on a whim"? He heard from his cousin they were stalking her and friends at the school yard, they didnt feel safe walking home, until Hood stepped in
Hood takes "protection fees" from buisnesses in the alley? His moms friend owns a salon there- its the only way to ensure money donated actually goes BACK to Gotham instead of embezzled away, Hood tries to refuse, no one lets him.
Hood insists on prowling "smoking spots" to "harass" teenagers should he find them with anything? Dukes teacher once got stabbed for trying the same thing, he's pretty sure half those kids ended up in rehab then. Now no one dares smoke anywhere in public not knowing when Hood could drop in, no longer a social event, few kept it up.
Hood becoming a crime boss that "makes the rules"? His neighbors son finally managed to get out of a bad crowd and graduate after he got fired from drug running when Hood said no kids.
Hood got involved with sex work? Duke sees the people on the street corners now, all of them older, standing taller, less bruises, and brighter smiles than what hes used to before.
Hood kills? No one he knows doesn't have a story, a scar, a look in their eyes. Only half of them get the peace that comes with knowing someone who hurt you can never again. Hood gives that.
Everyone Duke knows has a friend, or a friend of a friend who owes Hood so much. Even their lives. And to sit there, all the while Bruce drones about Hoods affairs and keeping an eye for the supposed inevitability he "steps out of line." Preaching about the revolving door of Arkham, how "everyone is worth saving" despite the list of casualties growing
People Duke knew, people he knew were loved, and who would remain unavenged because Hoods method was wrong for wanting to do more than save himself the burden of protecting the city of the dammed-
Duke Thomas? Bites his tounge.
Have you even read a Duke comic? Because you've got his character all wrong. Duke Thomas is not the type of person to sit silently if he disagrees with someone, especially Bruce. He will say it straight up for better or worse.
Not to mention, Duke doesn't give much of a shit about Jason in canon, in fact, he's been known to roast the guy on occasion.
Can people please stop using Duke as a vessel to make their favourite white boys shine already? Just use an OC and stop butchering his character.
Thankfully the bad guys aren’t openly bragging about their evil schemes like Bond villains. Otherwise the rest of the world might have an excuse to do something about this.

Losing my mind at this poor girl in Argentina who found a kitten on the side of the road and adopted it only to find out it was a freaking jaguarundi. Look at that fucking thing. That's a whole ass kiddy cat

Better yet, she got in contact with a local wildlife reserve! She found him and his sister beside a dead animal on the side of the road, apparently quite thin, and assumed they were just abandoned kittens. The female passed shortly afterward but the male was fine- two months later she brought him to the vet and discovered "hey, thats a whole ass jungle cat." There's a good chance Tito will be back in the wild someday, even! IMHO, two kittens on the side of the road, and one didn't make it more than a couple days? they probably WERE abandoned. just dumb luck they got picked up!
LISTEN to those sweet cheeps. to me I hear that sound and immediately think wild cat, but I think its totally reasonable for a teenager to find a kitten this young and think it was a normal cat. Jaguarundi are also really small!
These are TINY little wildcats!
They have really distinct looking faces and especially ears, but
if a layman ran into one of these things where they werent expecting to see one, I think its pretty reasonable they might assume it was just a weird looking cat

I wouldn’t go to therapy either if it meant being under constant threat of having the police inflicted on you
I see a lot of “jokes” from other white mentally ill people about being taken to the psych hospital in the back of a police car
and it’s pretty clear to me they aren’t really afraid of it? the way that men of color are? like they don’t seem to grasp that this is actually a serious and dangerous situation, or that their life or safety is at risk?
obviously that’s not universal - even white people experience police brutality, especially disabled people. but I’ve only ever seen white people make light of it or make ironic jokes about it online
