i desperately need the digimon community's media literacy to go up (although i guess that's too much to ask from xitter and reddit...) bc wtf were the reactions towards the seraphy beating raito scene in ep 19 that i saw on there 🫩 ppl were acting like Naito was beating Raito bc he was being an asshole and hurting Monodramon when i guarantee that he could care LESS about that Naito directly works for Klay "i host digimon auctions and human trafficking rings" Arslan i HIGHLY doubt that Naito thinks digimon are creatures with thoughts of their own, emotions, and general sense of autonomy

Naito beating Raito was because he accidentally killed their expensive Tinkermon that they were planning to sell. Let me repeat that. This grown ass man beat a child bc said child accidentally killed the expensive Tinkermon that they were planning to sell. If Naito cared abt Raito being an ass and mistreating Monodramon he wouldve already beat that behavior out of him Naito does not give a single fuck about that 😭

The writers for this current series I’m heavily fixated on has a really bad problem with trying to redeem every single character, ayo some characters just can’t be redeemed and that’s okay!

Trying to redeem an irredeemable character just leaves such a foul taste in my mouth, especially since their redemption is so poorly written. There are two characters from this series and they just don’t deserve to be redeemed, they both are fucking adults and should know better yet they still did the shit that they did. First one legit caused a fucking war, and only because he wanted his fucking daughter back even though she literally willingly sacrificed herself for the greater good. Second one literally exploited a fucking child’s trauma and has not fucking apologized for it, and yet he’s automatically redeemed cause he’s the brother of one of the most useful side characters!

I hate it when the happy ending for characters with trauma is that they get into a relationship with someone, getting into a relationship doesn’t just suddenly erase the traumatic memories and experiences.

Trauma isn’t something that just goes away because someone now loves and cares about you, sure it may hurt less but it’s still there at the back of your mind, so it’s very upsetting when a character is suddenly okay now that they’re in a relationship. ☹️

Also, I don’t like when people make it seem like the other person understands their suffering, because no they don’t. They can sympathize sure, but they cannot understand the pain and horrors they went through. This is why a ship from a current fandom I’m in is a NOTP of mine, it’s because of the fact that this dynamic is literally the whole thing with that pairing.

Okay so, I rewatched Frontier again, and this rewatch made me realize how fucked up these kids situations were.

Something that I noticed in this rewatch was how much they managed to still act like kids despite the shit happening around them, in every other season I can understand since it was just the normal “oh save the world!” thing, but in Frontier they literally witness the world around them that they start to consider as their second home literally get absorbed and destroyed. How are they still possibly okay!?

I will never forgive the dub for making Kouji a rude asshole

He’s just awkward and didn’t know how to communicate with the others so his behavior came off as rude towards them, stop misunderstanding his character 😭😭

I absolutely love how in canon both Takuya and Daisuke are shorter than everyone on their team(Iori and Tomoki are exceptional cause they’re younger, tho I think Hikari is either the same height as Daisuke or just a little bit shorter) and yet there are so many fanfiction writers who make them taller than they really are 😅

Like I shit you not, I see so many fanfictions where Takuya is fucking taller than Izumi and maybe sometimes taller than Kouji, nah the bitch is fucking SMALL. If I could cry for every time I saw a fanfic where Daisuke was somehow taller than Ken and/or Takeru then I would be crying a fucking sea.
