Facing The New || Ami and Yata
Glancing around the rink, Ami saw that it was mostly teens and children skating. All the parents were sitting on the bleachers surrounding it, chatting and drinking coffee and tea. It wasn’t as crowded as she had expected though which was good since it was a pain to skate in crowds of people who couldn’t skate at all.
"Mmm," She nodded, walking over to the ice. Gripping the railings surrounding the perimeter, she lifted her foot onto the ice quickly followed by the other. The motion made her slip slightly, her hand on the railing steadying her.
It had been almost a year since she had last went skating, but it seemed she still had the hang of it as she began skating around people. The bluenette looked behind her, realizing she had forgotten to wait for Misaki.
Ami was quick to get the hang of skating, much to Yata's relief. He didn't think he could handle if she started freaking out like he imagined stereotypical girls would do, or if she demanded to have her hand held or some shit. So as soon as she got completely comfortable and started setting off (she was independent, thank the heavens) Yata soon followed. Stepping on the ice it only toof a few moments for him to get adjusted to the feeling before gliding after her.
It was just like skateboarding but...different. Though as long as balance was a part of it, Yata could do it. That's just the way he was.
Yata quickly caught up to her before slowing down to match her pace, skating peacefully beside her. This was fun...the sensation was awesome. He loved these types of things. He hoped she was having fun too.
OOC:
Hi guys, I just wanted to let you all know I will be on hiatus for a week or two for vacation. But then I'll be back! Sorry for the inconvenience!

Ami couldn’t help but laugh at is blushing face, though she turned away to cover it. He was actually pretty cute when he was acting all embarrassed……as in cute like a little kid way. She shook her head of the thought.
Honestly she was just glad that she had someone to hang out with, who she could be more natural around. The bluenette didn’t know if she could actually show her true self around the people in this town. She had moved away from the ones who didn’t care about her actual attitude or the fact that she was a model. It would probably only be a matter of time too, before people started hanging around her for that.
"No, don’t argue. You paid for the skates, so I’ll pay for the food." She pointed out bluntly, finally managing to steady herself. “Let’s go inside now." She tilted her head towards the rink and hobbled over to the door.
As Ami pulled opened the door, a blast of freezing air immediately tugged at her shirt. She should have brought a jacket. Oh well, the cold would go away once she actually started skating. Holding the door open, she waited for Misaki to come in.
Finally giving in, he gave a nod of defeat; it was fair after all, though Misaki probably wouldn't even eat anything anyways...just because he didn't want her to spend her money. He hated any time when he felt like a charity case, and despite paying for the skate rental, his mentality stayed strong. So he'd just tell her he agreed even when he had no intention of taking her dough.
The red walked after her; hobbling a little himself because really, who wouldn't while wearing these things; thankful she couldn't see him being all stumbly. There was a burst of wind that made him shiver for a moment before he got adjusted, stepping onto the ice and sliding both feet on it. "Thanks." He gruffed at her holding the door open. There were children all around and other teens, all smiling and laughing and sliding around the rink. "Alright...let's go then, I g-guess."
Facing The New || Open
"You didn’t have to pay for those," She gratefully accepted the skates. “But thank you for being such a gentlemen to Ami," She batted her eyelashes and turned to sit on a bench. Argghh….she grumbled underneath her breath. She had told herself she’d try to change her behavior. It had almost became second nature in the past few years though.
Lacing on the laces, the model thought about her skating experiences. She definitely wasn’t pro at the sport, but she could probably manage to skate around without making a complete embarrassment out of herself.
"I’ll pay for the concessions when we take a break," Ami stated. It didn’t feel right to her to have someone pay for everything. She hadn’t actually expected Misaki to pay either. Standing up, the bluenette tried to keep her balance on the ground, wobbling slightly.
"It's fine, it's fine.." He insisted with a nervous chuckle, letting go of the skates once she had firmly grasped them. Her's were more pretty and white while his...looked all battered and black. It was easy to tell which skates were meant for males and which for females.
Misaki's face widened and his blush grew to the point where he could feel his ears get hot; was she...flirting with him?! He didn't know what to do in this situation so he cleared his throat and sat at the bench to put on his skate, feeling flustered. This wasn't a date, right? Because it was sort of seeming like a date, and she was acting all cutesy...but Misaki hadn't intended it to be a date. He was just showing her a good time in the new city...and he hoped she understood that.
He was just not ready for the whole 'dating' thing yet...or probably ever, really. That wasn't his style, or who he was.
Finishing lacing himself up he looked back up at Ami, feeling extremely nervous, He hoped she knew how to skate...he didn't think he could handle holding hands with her or any of that sappy stuff. He'd probably faint on the spot.
Women. Misaki was not made to interact with women.
"You don't have to, I can pay for myself." He responded; he still had enough money for a small soda or something, though nothing more. He stood up, and though for a few seconds it felt weird, he got adjusted. Skateboarding really helped him with his balance. "Okay...are ya ready to go in?"
Facing The New || Open
"A play……." Ami mused looking at the current available ones. One was a tragedy, the other a comedy, and the last option was historical. None of the plots appealed to the model much, and they’d have to be sitting next to each other for over an hour though, too much like a date. The last thing she needed was someone misunderstanding and catching them on camera. Yata would probably be a nervous wreck during that time period too.
"Let’s go ice-skating then," She glanced over at him. Misaki’s face was still tinged a slight red. Chuckling inwardly, she grabbed his arm and pulled him over to the shoe rental desk. “One size six, and um what size are you, Yata-kun?"
Well at least he wouldn't mess up with this option (hopefully). Misaki was a balanced kid, skateboarding helped him a lot with coordination. Most sports that involved those two aspects were easy for him to pick up on; it just came naturally. So if he had confidence in anything today, it was that he knew he wouldn't face plant in the ice rink.
Thank the heavens.
He was startled once again when she touched him for a second time, dragging him to the rental desk. He had dug up some extra money; he couldn't spare much, in his poor state; so he at least had enough to pay for the skates and admission. Nothing else though...maybe a soda but that's all. Oh well.
"Eh? I'm a 9." He responded and the shoes were given to them. He paid for the both of them since that was what gentlemen did, and handed her her shoes. "H-here."

Hearing a greeting, Ami turned in the direction of the voice. “Yata-kun!" She waved, running towards him. “You actually came." She gave a genuine smile.
The model turned around to see two pedestrians whispering and pointing at her. Giving out a nervous laugh, she quickly pushed Misaki towards the community center entrance. “Ah, let’s go inside."
A cool blast of air greeted them as they stepped inside the doors of the building. Around them were already other group, old and young going to the various facilities. “What do you want to do?"
"O-of course I came..." His fingers moved all the way through his red locks to scratch the back of his neck, one nervous movement replaced by another. He gave a shaky grin, not knowing what to do with himself, or how to act. He had never really talk to a girl before; let alone hung out with one; so this was all so new and weird.
They were like a foreign species to him.
Suddenly Misaki was rushed inside the building and his face broke out in a red blush because fuck, a female was touching him. Nobody touched him unless they were trying to beat him up, and the only girl who ever had before had been his mother. And that was a long time ago.
"W-we could go ice s-skating...or...watch a play..." The skater had never had a preference for what they were to do here, he just hoped it wasn't incredibly embarrassing. "You're new, so you p-pick."

The lighted up screen told her that it was only 4:30 PM. Perfect….Ami thought as she stepped out of the car, waving to her driver and walking back into her house. They had filmed outside of Rosedale today, more towards the natural forests and scenery, but they had finished early, which suited the bluenette just fine.
Kicking off the tall wedges once she was inside the house, the model went upstairs and begin removing her makeup and accessories. She slipped on a yellow shirt and some jeans and went downstairs for a quick snack. When the clock hit five ten, Ami grabbed a pair of sun glasses and proceeded towards the meeting place at a leisurely stroll. I bet that Misaki is going to be all flustered up and nervous again. She smirked, checking her pockets for her phone and wallet. What should we even do at the community center though?
After arriving, the bluenette looked around, trying to see if he was already there.
Before she passed away, his mother taught him that etiquette was the way to go when going somewhere with a lady. Being polite, no cussing, no scaring them off...Misaki was well aware of all of those, and he tried his best to follow all the rules. And he remembered one thing.
Always be 15 minutes early for any outing.
He hadn't brought his skateboard for once and was feeling sort of naked without it, but he wore his best clothes...which weren't even that great. A button down green shirt and jeans...and his usual sneakers. And for once he went without his beanie; which made him feel even more exposed. The skater shifted awkwardly in place in front of the building he was supposed to meet Ami at, already blushing a little.
How the hell had he gotten himself into this?
Looking up suddenly, he eyes spotter her and he took a deep breath. Alright...he could do this. He could do this.
Maybe.
"H-hello!" He waved, then ran his fingers through his hair in embarrassment.

Again, there were more questions that Saruhiko would ignore as he continued to work. There was another thing Saruhiko really just didn’t do often: talk. Maybe that was because there had never been anyone to talk to, but it seemed pointless to waste the effort. Especially when it came to answering a question with an obvious answer.
Well…maybe the why part was a bit more complex than the obvious notion that he was, in fact, fixing the board.
He takes the board without another glance at the ginger. Head cocks to the side as he tries to figure out just how getting this wheel back on would work. The teen was no skateboard expert like his companion here. And no work done in this small apartment would ever be as good as a working professional. However, it seemed Yata was in the same predicament as he was. No money. The dents and nicks in the board and wheels proved it.
So he pulls out a screwdriver and starts toying with the wheel, placing it back onto the board before beginning to screw it back into place. He wondered if this was even right, or if it would be steady enough to ride again. It shouldn’t matter to him, though. It wasn’t his board.
It really shouldn’t have been his problem.
So why was he helping, exactly?
Right, toying with the fates. He knew the town’s legend. It was the same as the next town over. Strange things could happen with the fates, and he understood that. Of course, Fushimi didn’t entirely believe in such things, as there would have been a better way of showing it if that were actually the case.
Let’s be realistic, here.
He finishes and puts the tool down, spinning the wheel to see how much it rattles on the board. It seems pretty steady, but with his handiwork he wouldn’t have really recommended riding it right away. “Here." he says, voice yet again monotone, as he hands the board back. “Though I don’t know if that’ll do it. I’d get it checked by someone else eventually if you ever can."
He can only watch, not knowing what else to do with himself. He had never been in a situation like this before; people rarely helped him out with anything; which only broadened his confusion. Why would this guy want to give him a hand? Sure, Misaki had helped him home last time Fushimi got injured, but that was after taunting him all day. An eye for an eye...so this was really going out of the taller's way. Especially since it was Misaki that crashed into him...thus hurting him again.
Now the red was going to owe him double.
Fushimi didn't seem to know what he was doing at first but for some reason Misaki had faith in him, trusting that the man would be able to fix his skateboard. Now he wasn't a patient person, but for some reason watching the other's movements of his hands with the tools relaxed him, perhaps even made him a little sleepy.
It was a weird feeling.
Soon enough the board is handed back to him, almost as good as new; it wasn't like the guy could fix everything that needed reparation; cause the corner's of the skater's lips to turn upwards just slightly. That...was actually very kind of Fushimi. Misaki didn't deserve it at all.
"Thanks..." He murmured, flipping the board over and over again, then spinning the wheel to see how well it was fastened on. It seemed sturdy enough...and if it popped off eventually, he wouldn't really blame this guy. He tried, and that was all that mattered to Misaki. The effort in doing something.
"I don't have money for that shit..." He mumbled before hazel hues gazed back upwards at sapphires. "But...why did ya do this? Ya really didn't have to..."

The moon was just a small strip of silver tonight, against the dark sky. Sighing, Ami drew the curtains and flopped down onto her bed. Taking out her phone, she flipped it open and stared at the number that she had just gotten today. What had even compelled her to suggesting hanging out with him? In her old school, she had mostly stayed to herself, though to outsiders she seemed like a popular girl. Most of her so called “friends" had only hung out with her because she was a famous model.
Flipping on her side, her thumbs quickly tapped out a message.
[Time:] 9:57 [Message:]- Let’s meet up in front of the Community Center tomorrow @5:30? ~Ami
The model’s thumb’s hovered over the button for a few seconds, before hitting the send button and shutting her phone.
That night, he was walking home from his long shift he had worked at Bentley's. He almost always worked long shifts...it wasn't like he had anything else to do anyways. He needed the money and he wanted to stay away from his run down home as much as possible...the abandoned shack he had claimed for his own in one of the ghettos of the city. It wasn't much, but at least he wasn't living with his father anymore. So despite it's shittyness, he took it.
His phone beeped and he wondered who it could be; no one ever textured him, and surely it wasn't the girl, she had probably just been messing with him. That's what he had came up with after a while...this couldn't be real. He had no friends so he didn't know why someone was interested all of a sudden.
But when he got the message he knew it was her and was shocked, despite her telling him she'd text him. There was no way out of it.
[Time:]10:03[Message:] Sure, I'll be there.~Yata
Misaki slipped his phone back in his pocket, heart pounding from anxiety.
A Second Attempt || yata-misaki-crow
So he didn’t really care if the other followed him or not, but if he didn’t then he’d be losing out on a wheel. Saruhiko was going to try…just barely. If it didn’t work and the other turned away or gave up, then he wouldn’t push trying to get him to come back. This was clearly going to be a one-time trial.
But he hears the thumps of sneakers coming up behind him as he walks, still tossing the wheel up into the air. He took that as a good note; even if it was just mild curiosity urging Yata to follow along.
He hears the question, but deliberately ignores it. Though, to be honest, hearing his name come out of the mouth of someone that isn’t one of his teachers is weird. It sounds strange to him, but maybe that’s because it’s a rare occurrence.
He leads them down the familiar streets towards his little one room flat, pulling out his key to unlock the door. As he walked in he removed his shoes, and tossed his bag onto the futon on the floor. He’d finish his studies later.
There was hesitation in flicking on the lights; and fortunately, when he flipped the switch, the dark room brightened up. Good, his electricity was back on for a little while. He let that relief set in before he focused on the task he’d come home to do. Somewhere around the place there were little tools he’d snagged from one of his previous jobs. Certainly something like that would be enough to help try and fix the board.
He assumes Yata will make himself comfortable, and if not well he was in for a long wait at the door. Eventually he comes across the little bag of tools he’d stowed away, and looks over the wheel to see which would be necessary. “Hand me the board." he calls over his shoulder, holding his hand out as he looked in the bag for what he needed.
Of course he's going to follow the other; for one, he has his wheel, a vital part to his best friend of an object, and for two, this means adventure. He was curious...what this guy wanted wasn't clear. But it wasn't possible for Misaki not to follow...Fushimi was tossing his wheel up and down and it was practically like hypnosis for the red who kept his eyes on the prize.
Up, down. Up, down.
He begins to recognize the direction they are going in from being here before that one time he had to help Fushimi home, and he's bewildered. They guy's taking him to his home? That must be a mistake. He was kicked out of it the last time...why would he be wanted there?
So confusing.
Misaki sort of follows blindly, through the crappy streets of Fushimi's neighborhood (not that his were any better) and towards that little apartment where the taller resided. Fushimi led him inside and all the while Misaki couldn't believe this was happening.
The man had even asked him to come this time.
Misaki was getting his hopes up again and he didn't know how he should feel about that.
The lights flickered on and like the last time Misaki stood at the doorway awkwardly, clutching the board to his chest and looking around. It looked generally the same -a bit cleaner, maybe- and the place just sort of had the aura of Fushimi. He hadn't been around the guy that much but if anywhere had the aura for him it was this place.
"Huh?" He looks up when he's called, eyes dazed and confused before he focuses in on what the taller is doing. He's...going to fix his board for him? Misaki hesitantly walked over, not sure what to do. Technically Misaki was the one to run into Fushimi, so Fushimi had no obligation in fixing the board.
So....what?
"You're gonna fix it?" He asks, voice showing obvious confusion. "....Why?"
~*~
A Second Attempt || yata-misaki-crow
Saruhiko really could just not catch a break. It was like he bumped into this guy everywhere he went. There was no mistaking the fact that each and every coincidence seemed to start becoming less and less of a coincidence. Maybe it really was fate.
Though if it was, the fates were being especially cruel to him. They were trying much to hard to get him to make a friend. Saruhiko—the most anti-social human being in all of Newstark being forced to make buddy buddy with…this guy.
Yeah, he didn’t feel too appreciated by now.
Well then let’s humor the fates. He’d show them how badly something like this could go.
He sits up, looking himself over. Besides the initial pain from the impact, there was nothing else wrong with him. “I’m fine." he says flatly, dusting off his uniform before he pushes himself to his feet. When he’s good he offers a hand to help the other up to his feet. After all, Yata had taken a pretty bad trip himself.
A glance to the board shows the exact problem, but he doesn’t see the missing wheel anywhere. It might have rolled a bit farther than he’d expected. A glance down the street proves his theory, seeing it sitting there on it’s own.
He begins his trek down the street, bag in tow though the other doesn’t follow behind. When he reaches the wheel, he bends down to pick it up, looking it over a few times. It shouldn’t be too hard to… Oh wait, would that be pushing it? Oh well.
A glance back at the other makes him roll his eyes and click his tongue. “Are you coming, or not?" he asks, turning back on his heel. He tosses the wheel into the air and catches it as he falls.
Let’s see how this works out.
The other man...was trying to help him up? He could only stare at the hand offered to him dumbly, wondering why it was there. It must mean he wasn't hated...right? Not that he'd know...Misaki wasn't around people enough to know those types of things.
Despite his initial shock he took the hand, pulling himself up with the help of Fushimi. So okay...Fushimi was fine..
But not his precious board!
Before he could sprint away and all over the street to retrieve the pieces the taller started walking to retrieve his wheel; and once again, Misaki watched dumbly, shocked.
Um...what?
What was happening?
He was confused.
At the other's inquire he snapped out of it (for the most part) and snagged his board from where it flew on the other side of the street before scrambling after him. He didn't know where they were going or what they were doing -except he vaguely suspected it would have something to do with his board- and his mind was whirring with confusing.
"What're we doin'?" He asked immediately after wondering, holding the broken board to his chest as he followed. "....Fushimi?"
Facing The New || Open
"Thanks," She waved off the comment. Recently her guard had been dropping lower and lower. With no one knowing about her model status, she hadn’t found it necessary to put on the ‘innocent girl’ act that she did with almost everybody. Her friends at her last school had changed it so that she could express herself (almost) normally, but to strangers and fans, she’d still act the same.
"Put your number here," Ami handed her his phone, with a contacts screen on the page. After he returned it, she stood and began walking out. “I’ll text you later today,"
"And really, Misaki," She turned around before she reached the door. “Stop acting so fidgety and nervous." With that, she left, the bell tinkling above her.
That last comment made his face go even brighter than before. For one, she called him be his first name; which he was too scared to correct her on but he still hated. Two, he was horrified she noticed his nervousness and fidgeting, it was embarrassing enough that he knew it was there. And lastly he didn't know how to stop; it was his nature. Yata Misaki as just afraid of women and there was practically nothing anybody could do to change that.
The skater rushed to his next table and served them, and then the next and the next. Soon enough he was done with the whole day...though he couldn't get the girl out of his mind.
Who would want to talk to him that much? Especially that pretty?
He went home to repeat the day tomorrow...the anxiety of the next day's events never leaving him.
