On the topic of "what if Character were the opposite gender"... if Sora was a girl and literally nothing else changed in the story, all those same assholes (usually cishet dudebros) who use SoKai as a means of shutting up the queer side of the fandom would instead be shipping SoRiku and pointing out all the same stuff every other SoRiku shipper has pointed out except... well, it's straight now. They would also be spreading that same old hate for SoKai, and complaining about Sora being too annoying
