I know most of you aren't even in the same country as me, but eeeeeeek, today (22.3.25) I'm presenting on my first comic convention ever!!

I'll have two comics for sale and some sketchbooks to peek through. I am thoroughly unprepared with prints and stickers. But I am determined to get 10 new followers!

Precious, 2025

This comic is inspired by a story about a friend: Julia and I went to school together (we're tailors, yeah!) and since then we've been writing letters to each other. Julia, who writes the most intricate and aesthetically pleasing letters, and me, who responds. I cherish them so much, that I developed the strangest anxiety of actually opening them and reading them because I WOULD SPOIL THEIR BEAUTY IF OPENED IN THE WRONG MOMENT. This led to carrying the sealed letter with me on three (three!!) different trips, in case the right moment might graciously present itself. The unopened letter on my desktop stands as a testament, that no moment has since been so fitting as to warrant breaking the seal.

I think about the letter almost daily, but I also yearn for the day I can finally sit down in a manner befitting a period drama, get my dip pen and fine paper, and write "I am sure we will always wear Linen" somewhere in the lines. Once my response is complete, I shall put on my street attire and stroll to the post office and pay with a small coin. After I have sent the letter on its perilous journey, I will call on an ailing neighbour with a basket of fruit.

...transcribing letters from the early 19th century is certainly getting to my head.

Critical thinking, 2025

I wanted to make a comic about critical thinking because I see it lacking.

My appeal is this: Make sense of the world by critically questioning it around you, but question it well: It‘s not about rejecting information when the truth is inconvenient or not fitting inside our world beliefs. It‘s about understanding the difference between skepticism and denial. Consider many perspectives, seek and point out biases, ask for evidence rather just believing what feels true. Be open to change and beware of the voices, that misuse the idea of „thinking for yourself“ to justify rejecting inconvenient truths.

Eeeeeeek! I am beyond happy to say, that Pictopia Comics in Vienna now holds my debut comic „Obscura“!

Created at the #24hcomicday in 2024, this wordless comic tells a story about a hole and draws inspiration from my own childhood dreams. It’s about the intricate relationship between the observer and the observed, exploring the theme of transformation. I wanted a challenge and the comic to be understood universally, that’s why I chose to make this comic completely wordless.

The comic is also up on my shop that is linked in the menu above. I‘m currently working on a zine and another printed comic which I’ll put up soon! If you‘re in or around Vienna, you‘ll be able to get these products on Comic fairs, too!

👁 MEET THE ARTIST 🦇 I think I‘ve actually never done any of those so here it is! After some thought, I think I‘d change passionate to curious, because curiosity gives me drive to be passionate about something I chose to follow. That's definitely something I want to focus on in the next year! ✨

I took a few steps back from social media and posting in general, due to overwhelm of everything that's happening right now, but this page will always be regularly updated, even if I'm a bit slow at the moment. Behind the screen I'm preparing comics for print, drawing and practicing my analogue skills. If you want to follow up on that, you can do that on Mastodon and Bluesky.

OBSCURA

A 24-page comic about a hole. There's much more to say about that, and I will upload the comic soon probably, but like in the comic itself, some things are better without words.

31. Landmark

Finished!!!

I've tired to participate in @inktober SO many times, and although I didn't make it in October this year, I've managed to finish all comics and illustrations. Some time I'll try to go traditional and ink my way through inktober. It's not a promise, the month is usually a very busy one for me. But I'd love to get that down of my list, too!

Thanks for being part of this wonderful journey! I have already designed a small book and have now sent it to the printer. It will be available to buy in a small edition at festivals, yay! :)

Although not recent, I‘ve experienced relationships and friendships break, probably you have too. The hurt from broken relationships sometimes passes quickly, or can leave you bruised and shattered. But relationships end - it’s normal and sometimes it’s meant to be. That's something I've been taught lately. The best you can do then, is focus on the people who are still in your life and are making the sun shine. 💛
