Cooking with a cook.

When I met my husband he knew how to cook. He learned from his mother and grandmother which I respect. I never had that relationship with my mother even when I did ask how to cook food. So when I started living with my then husband in his apartment and he asked if I knew how to cook, my response was um no.

When you fast forward a couple of years, we are living together in our own apartment and trying to make this relationship work and me trying to figure out how to try and be a good girlfriend. I had to depend on #hamburgerhelper Yes the wonderful people at that created boxes of alternative options helped me learn to cook.

Years to come I had to try and find my way to a kitchen and learn to cook. The first recipe I learned because my husband wished I knew was Tortilla Soup. Thanks to my work then, they put out a cookbook that had a simple recipe for tortilla soup that I thought I could learn. So one day I decided to try it. It wasn’t the best but my now husband said it was a good effort.

Is it weird that I enjoy just watching my husband sleep in the morning? He looks so peaceful and adorable 🥰 I know i stress him out all the time and so sporadic with my ADHD and change my mind so much but he’s so cute.

We always have to be touching each other. Right now it’s just our feet but if I move it away he starts to wake up 🤭

Decided to do a chimichuri sauce with our steak last night

The other night hubs and I actually tried something way out of our comfort zone. We aren’t fans of coconut (yes I said it) but I remember we had coconut shrimp at our wedding many years ago and everyone loved it.

So we went ahead and found a recipe for it and tried it out. Shocking we actually loved it and will definitely do it again. We didn’t use a lot of coconut but it’s there. 😂

I have found a joy in cooking with my husband. I look forward to planning a big meal on my days off and feeding the neighbors upstairs 😂 (a brother and sister in their early 20’s) which they love.

Since I haven’t been using my account I will start posting food. Since that’s what I’ve been learning to do.

When I met my husband I really didn’t know how to cook. Thank goodness my husband did and that is why I’m a happy wife. (Fluffy)

When the pandemic happened and I started working from home, I really needed something to do other than drinking alcohol. So I ask hubs to help me learn how to cook.

We bought some cookbooks and jumped right in.

So since the pandemic started i really wasn’t much of a cook. But with the hubs helping me learn, we have been able to accomplish several food recipes. Just a couple of pics to show our fun adventure.
