"Dagger" sounds too cool, it's an old kitchen knife. Something for survival. She thankfully would not need to use it in self defence, but at least it's useful when you want to cook some animal you caught in the wild
Not only she is a racer, she is excellent student😌 has a lot of medals, ribbons, cups and such
A day on their planet is not 24 hours, but around 48-50. They usually sleep 2 times a day, but not Thor. For all her student life she was skipping daytime sleep (probably drinking a lot of energy drinks... in their era this is more or less safe though) to have more time for all her interests. She signes up for many extra activities and contests in her university. She has very high social credit I'm sure..
She would probably just lay down and die if she were to stop pursuing some kind of achievement. It's an addiction at this point
Yeah! She likes graffiti! In fact she likes it so much that she is banned from buying spray paint in local stores.
When Noah and Cassey befriend Aouke, they start to ask her to buy paint because she has never done anything bad in her life and obviously is not banned
She can fully control only one face at the time, and when yes, she is two-headed, not two faced (in a moral way), the face that is not controlled shows more genuine, primal feelings. Scylla chooses to be self-contained and stoic. The uncontrolled head betrays her when she tries to play cool but actually is suffering. It can show pain and exhaustion when what she needs is to intimidate people who won't leave her be. It can show fear when she is in danger but must keep Beam safe.
It also shows annoyance even if she tries to be polite with Nix (who teases her every time they met)
@lunaria--annua thank you for all your tags again!!! Glad to see you're back on tumblr. THERE IS SOO MUCH TO SAY AND DRAW but I am behind on artfight revenges... I will just answer a couple of comments with text posts ok 🙏🙏🙏
YOU'RE SO RIGHT. Their fashion should feel like this
And this is literally one of two songs i associate with her the most
It took so long because i like to play with the fonts + I'm afraid of typos and just wrong wording, english is not my native language
Character descriptions (copied from artfight) under the cut!
Neiskalta
♀ / 22 years old
Neiskalta is a fiernix (a drake(?) shapeshifters race) from a noble family. Her ancestors are famous for their extraordinary fire magic (both control and resistance) and great, superhuman strength. Even among dragon people they stand out with their height and dragon form twice as big as usual. They are almost a lineage of chosen ones, ones who had to sacrifice themselves for the people in times of danger, though last time it was long ago. Now they are busy with just keeping their place in social hierarchy.
Neiskalta was raised mostly by her grandfather, who saw her as an attempt #2 (after failed #1 — his daughter, her mother) at raising a proper successor of their gift. She was destined to be a living weapon, a vessel of the will of the family. Disciplined, trained, strong, and taught to be agressive and dominant.
But she did not want to be a fighter, a soldier. With time she started to understand that her grandfather is not all powerful. And her weird childhood friend Khel-Gar was a great example of how to enjoy a life of freedom.
Neiskalta and Khel-Gar ran away to the coastal city together. Now, Neiskalta is a humble a construction worker, not recognized by anyone, hiding her dragon form. Now she gets to create rather than destroy, and she tries to learn how to be gentle, not a spitfire. And Khel-Gar is an actress. They live in a small apartment, cook tasty food, go for walks to the sea shore and enjoy their free time together.
She and khel-Gar are equally overpowered entities, just in a different ways. Opposite ways. Neiskalta doesn't fully know who Khel-Gar really is.
They love each other very very much. PLATONICALLY. Do not separate us this is our codependency shirt <3 Neiskalta would be jealous if Khel-Gar found new best friends.
Doesn't show many emotions, often embarrassed to sing, dance. Sometimes feels like she takes up too much space. Easily gets angry and starts threatening, but catches herself better and better with time. She makes progress.
They always told her not to smoke (it's bad hor the fire breath). This is exactly a reason why she DOES smoke now
Likes to cook, listen to radio, going on picnics, playing crosswords, sudoku and such (but math games are easier for her. She is homeschooed and her grandfather decided that math is more important than language\literature). Is a fan of somewhat recently invented steamships. Likes to work with wood (and the scent of it in particular)
Khel-Gar
♀ / 20(?) years old
Khel-Gar is a very powerful shapeshifter\ mimic\ "evil" forest beast who now lives among humans for her own pleasure.
She could have stayed a forest beast forever, but at a young age was socialized by palemours, anthropomorphic creatures with their own culture as any magical people of this world. She takes from them her name, her accent, her taste in music, dance, food. Even the color of her human face is the one of their best human masks.
She is silly, she lives for shits and giggles, she wants human emotions, but only the fun ones :)
She came to the north coast because she heard that this is there the best human shapeshifters live. This is true. And the one who she chose to be her best friend, Neiskalta, is the one who probably could and should kill her — if Khel-Gar was a proper beast and the Neiskalta was a proper hero. But thankfully they are not. They are just friends, who both ran away from their «fate» and «responsibility» and live their best lifes.
She can imitate not only any voice, but any sound
likes pranks and jokes, will scare or annoy people for fun.
Likes dances and music and art and spicy food and soft beds and everything good that human life can offer. Hates multi-layered clothes and cold winters. She can live without much food and sleep standing with her eyes open and survive the freezing cold, but why would she do that if there are all this cool things to enjoy.
doesn't cry, doesn't get sad, isn't afraid of anything but death. And this is only because she believes that real people have immortal souls and she doesn't — for her death will be the end end.
doesn't like to be alone, because she starts to hear the call of the forest again in long silence.
Always has something to chew on in her pockets. Really likes nuts, candy and candied fruits.
Bad at reading and almost zero in musical notation, learns mostly by listening to others.
I was 12-13 years old when I came up with these names. My go-to methods at the time were 1) put some random syllables together and 2) take some real name that I like and swap/add letters (and dashes) until it stops sounding real.
They may be unnatural sounding, but at this point I have been calling them by these names for 8 years and I am too used to it to notice the weirdness. They were created meaningless but they are unique, you are right, and I like them!
Cool thing is, I can just assign meanings to my made up random names. Because the languages are also made up by me
Khel-Gar's name is in palemour language. The first part means "a baby of a wild animal" (this word in particular is used to describe an animal with hooves, like fawn and calf, for example. Baby predators and rodents and other kind of animals will be called differently). The second part means a very loud sound/rumble (such as the sound of an elephant, hunting horn, echo of thunder/rockslide/cannon shot).
In other words, this animal screams really loudly for its size!
Neiskalta's name does not mean an object, but a quality. Something like "steady, stable, unshakable." Like a sturdy tree in a storm or a stone fortress. Her birth was supposed to stabilize and strengthen the family, so the name chosen by older relatives reflected this. I don't think she will change it (because caring for such a small thing is stupid and not for a strong person like her!!!1! (lmao)), but I think Khel-Gar tries to find a nickname for her in her native language and Neiskalta actually likes it.
