001: attraction
the attraction between you and jake was basically immediate. you two first met at a park, where the both of you were walking your dogs. your dog, and layla saw each other and immediately ran towards one another, dragging you and jake along with them. the dogs immediately began playing with one another, you laughing at the encounter. “i’ve never seen her do that, she must really like your puppy.” you looked up at the sound of his voice, and you were completely taken aback at how good looking he was. and by the starstruck look on his face, he was clearly thinking the same thing.
002: learning more about them
you and jake continued to see each other, however every time it was completely unplanned. you ran into each other at the dog park almost everyday. you always made sure to go, not only for your dog, but you always looked forward to seeing jake. you two began walking your dogs together, you two beginning to get to know each other. you talked about your pasts, your friends, and your jobs. you two got close very very quickly.
003: building comfort and trust
the trust in the relationship, built very quickly. the more you two began to speak, the more your feelings grew, so your trust in him grew as well. there was one day, you went to the park, and ran into jake accidentally. you weren’t feeling your best, and planned on not talking to him, but there he was. he noticed you were upset, and made sure to let you know that you could trust him and that you could talk to him. so you did. you told him what was going on, and he was incredibly understanding. there was something about him, that just made you feel safe and comfortable.
004: actually going on dates
it took a while for jake to actually ask you out. you wanted to make the first move so badly, but you were terrified of jake telling you he wasn’t interested. you and him were sitting on the bench at the park, and jake asked out of nowhere. all you did was smile and say yes. the next day, you went on your first official date. you went out to eat, and you two walked around the city for a while. he even took note of the time you said you loved the stars and planets, and took you to a planetarium. that was even the night you two had your first kiss. after the that night, the dates became regular, and eventually your relationship became official.
005: seduction
it took a while for you and jake to build up the courage to get to this stage. there was a night where you were staying the night at his place, and let’s just say things got a little interesting. you were never the type to jump into anything sexual with someone, and neither was jake. but everything just felt right. you trusted jake with everything in you, and you knew he would be good to you. and he did just that. he was very caring the whole night, and continued to do that every time.
006: the honeymoon phase
to sum it up, you and jake were as happy as could be. no one had ever made you feel the way you felt with jake. he truly made you happier than you could even explain. you two began to imagine your futures, and always made sure each other were in them. you never got tired of each other, and basically spent every waking moment with him. you were completely and utterly in love with jake and everything that he was.
007: the doubting phase
at about a year and a half into your relationship, you and jake definitely began to doubt everything. the both of you were incredibly young, and you didn’t know if jake was the one you were meant to be with. you never doubted the fact that you loved him, you knew you did. but what if something were to happen? what if he lost feelings? you brought it up to jake, and he was thinking the same kind of thing. it took a while for the two of you to work through it, but you did. you both realized how in love with each other you were, and how badly you wanted to stay with each other.
008: commitment and stability
the longer you two dated, the more you realized that you wanted to be with him, and him only. you looked back at the previous doubts, and thought you were crazy for even beginning to thinking about it. jake took care of you, and made you feel more loved than anyone ever could. you were fully committed to jake, and he was fully committed to you.

you stood in the corner of the gym, all alone. it was prom night and you were alone. you’d be lying if you said you weren’t expecting it. it’s how nights like this usually ended up, so you honestly weren’t that mad about it. but sunoo was.
“y/n, come on! it’s our senior year, let loose, have some fun! ask someone to dance! it’s the last one you’ll ever get, you gotta make the most of it,” he exclaimed. sunoo had been your best friend for as long as you could remember. he was always the ‘fun’ one out of the two of you. you were definitely more on the quiet side, so it was natural for you to stand alone. sunoo never let you, however.
he looked around and scanned the crowd of people, looking for someone for you to ask to dance. or for him to put in a good word to. his eyes landed on a boy sitting on the bleachers, playing on his phone. he was wearing a dark gray tuxedo, paired with a white button up, and a dark gray neck tie. sunoo knew who it was, he immediately made his decision. lee heeseung was just a quiet as you were. sunoo had only spoken to him a few times, but he liked him.
he turned back to you, and grabbed your hand. you looked at him in confusion as he began to drag you to the opposite side of the gym. “sunoo where the hell are you taking me,” you questioned, trying to pry his hand off of yours. he stopped just a few feet away from the boy, and turned so his back was facing him. he looked at you and gestured to the boy, you looking over at him. you couldn’t lie, he was incredibly good looking.
“ask him to dance,” sunoo suggested, you immediately shaking your head. “oh come on! live a little. would you rather me go put in a good word?” you slowly nodded, your nerves quickly rising. you didn’t want to, but sunoo was determined. and he looked so happy when you said yes, you couldn’t take that away from him. “okay okay, i got this. go stand over there and just look pretty. you’re good at that,” he said with a smile on his face.
you softly smiled back, and walked to a spot in the gym where there weren’t many people. a few moments later, you glanced up and saw sunoo talking to the boy. you and heeseung made brief eye contact, the both of you smiling at one another. a few moments after that, heeseung was standing up, and making his way to you. your heart dropped. you never expected it to actually work, but now, the pretty boy was coming over to you.
you quickly tried to mask the nervousness, by putting another smile on your face. he returned it, and before you knew it, he was right in front of you. “well hello,” he said, his voice soft but welcoming.
“hi there,” you replied, looking up at him. he was way taller than you, he was quite literally looking down at you. cute.
“oh um, i’m heeseung. your friend sunoo came up to me and pointed you out,” he said with a laugh.
you laughed as well in response, coming up with something to say. “i hope he didn’t freak you out, or say something too odd. oh, and i’m y/n.”
he held out his hand for you to shake, but it wasn’t your normal hand shake. as soon as his hand made contact with yours, you felt a weird sort of electricity shoot through you. “well, it’s very nice to meet you, y/n.”
“you as well, heeseung.” you and him spent a majority of the night simply getting to know one another. the both of you agreed it would be better to go sit somewhere, so you opted for the bleachers. no one else was on the bleachers so it would just be the two of you. after what felt like only a few minutes, enchanted by taylor swift started playing through the speakers. you and him made eye contact and you already knew what he was going to ask.
he held his hand out to you, a soft smile tugging at his lips. “would you like to dance?” you softly laughed, and placed your hand in his.
“i’d love to.” he smiled wide, and stood up, helping you down the stairs. you two made your way to a spot on the dance floor where there weren’t many people. you wrapped your arms around his neck, him wrapping his around your waist. he held you close to his chest, the two of you beginning to sway side to side as the vocals played through the speaker.
after a few moments, he reached behind his head, gently grabbing one of your hands. he took it from behind him so he could hold it while the two of you danced. you couldn’t even begin to describe the feelings he was giving you. it was like the people around you didn’t exist any longer. your focus was solely on him, and the way he was looking at you.
please don’t be in love with someone else, please don’t have somebody waiting on you
before you knew it, the song was beginning to fade out, and everyone was starting to leave. “do you by chance have a ride home? i can always take you home,” he offered, his voice fading out, as if he was nervous to ask. but then you remembered sunoo.
“i actually do. i have to take sunoo home tonight. you’re welcome to tag along, i can always bring you back to get your car,” you suggested. you wanted nothing more than to spend more time with him, but you couldn’t leave sunoo.
all he did was smile. “that would be amazing, actually. thank you.”
“don’t worry about it. let’s go find sunoo, shall we,” you asked with a smile, as you held out your hand. he took your hand, lacing your fingers together, as you called sunoo. you found him outside, all of you making your way to your car. sunoo took the back seat, heeseung taking passenger.
you all made small talk as you drove the short distance to sunoo’s home. it wasn’t at all awkward, like you feared it might have been. however, it was quite the opposite. you were at sunoo’s house in no time, him quickly saying his goodbyes, and scampering inside. you and heeseung made your way back to the school, you parking next to his car.
you put the car in park, and turned so you could face him. “is it weird if i say i don’t want to leave you just yet?”
all you could do was smile. “not at all. i don’t want to leave you yet, either if you want me to be honest.” you turned on your radio, so soft music could play in the back of your conversation, but you both froze when enchanted began to play again.
“this is such a beautiful song,” he said softly, reaching across the center console to hold your hand. you never thought someone you just met could make you feel like this. as the song continued to play, you didn’t even notice your faces were inching towards each other.
it was enchanting to meet you.
“can i kiss you?” all you could muster up was a nod. before you knew it, his lips were on yours. your lips moved in sync, your hand cupping his cheek. he smiled into the kiss, pulling away when air became a problem. he glanced at your dash, the time taking him by surprise.
“you have to go, don’t you,” you asked softly. he simply nodded.
“i wish i didn’t have to.”
“me too.”
he placed a kiss to your cheek, and opened the car door. he stepped out, but made sure he didn’t leave without putting your number in his phone. “bye, y/n.”
“bye, heeseung,” you said, your heart feeling empty at his absence. maybe it all went too fast. maybe you two moved too fast. but as the thoughts began to creep up, you quickly pushed them down. no one had ever made you feel the way he did. especially within the span of three hours. you felt yourself begin to blush, and you couldn’t help but laugh at yourself.

i saw this one and immediately thought of heeseung. you two would have had no clue the other existed, until you randomly bumped into him one day. he was on his phone trying to talk to jay about something and wasn’t watching where he was going. he looked up to apologize and froze at the sight of you standing in front of him. he was even dumb enough not to get your number or even your name. he was just waiting for the next time he bumped into you, and thankfully, that was soon. he wasn’t going to let the opportunity slip past him this time.

it wasn’t a crazy job that the two of you would meet at. it was actually a smaller office job that the two of you worked at, in which your cubicles were right next to one another. your boss had asked you and jay to work together on a project, and the two of you meshed together really well. the project was done quickly and efficiently, your boss being quite impressed. from then on, you and jay only grew closer, your feelings for one another growing rapidly. sneaking glances at each other in the break room, small smiles every time one of them would begin to ramble. it didn’t take long for jay to make his move, and you were beyond glad that he did.

we’ve all seen the way yeonjun reacts when one of the members compliments him or praises him in some way. i think yeonjun would love hearing from you how much you love him. after a long day, and he’s exhausted and wants nothing more than to just rest, the only thing he needs to hear is that you’re proud of him. he loves hearing that he’s doing amazing, and that you appreciate everything he does. he does the same to you as well. he knows he loves hearing it, so he does his best to do the same for you and make you feel just as loved and appreciated.

“y/n….y/n!” you quickly snapped your head up toward jungwon, snapping out of your daze. “jeez, are you okay? i’ve been calling your name for like five minutes,” he said, concern laced in his tone.
“uh y-yeah, i’m fine. just a bit distracted, that’s all,” you replied, hoping he wouldn’t push the situation further. however, it’s jungwon. you should have known that. he scooted his chair closer to yours, completely ignoring his class work.
“what’s on your mind? penny for your thoughts?” you and jungwon had always been incredibly close. you were childhood friends, your parents always spending time with each other. it was inevitable that you and jungwon became best friends. he was your everything and you trusted him entirely. which is why you didn’t have to think very long about whether to tell him what was really going on or not.
you took one last glance at the boy up front before turning to jungwon. he took notice of the gesture and he immediately knew what was going on. he could read you like a book. “it’s sunghoon, isn’t it?” your eyes widened as you quickly told him to be quiet. “calm down, he’s not gonna hear me. it’s him though, right? is that what’s bothering you?” you simply nodded, and took another glance at the boy.
you and sunghoon had an interesting relationship. you had had a massive crush on him since you were both freshmen, and from what he says, he felt the same. you two began talking more and more and the feelings continued to grow. you two just hadn’t done anything about it yet. but everytime he tried, you backed off. you felt horrible but you simply didn’t know what else to do. “y/n, come on, talk to me. what’s going on,” jungwon asked, his concern increasing.
you took a deep breath before speaking. “i’m scared, jungwon.”
“scared of what, y/n?”
“im scared of him hurting me. im scared of hurting him. im scared of it not working out. im scared of not being good enough and im scared of -” you were cut off by jungwon putting his hand over your mouth. he laughed a little bit at the look you gave him, but quickly turned serious again.
“y/n you have to stop with that. i know you’re scared, stuff like this can be scary. but you and sunghoon are worth a shot. i’ve never seen you as happy as you are when you’re with him.”
“but i keep pushing him away. i don’t want to push him away, but i don’t know what else to do.” your voice was soft, your eyes darting to the boy up front once again. anyone with eyes knew about the way you felt about sunghoon.
“you look at him like he hung the damn stars, y/n. just talk to him. i know you don’t want to, but you need to.” as if in cue, the bell for your next class rang, everybody around you getting out of their seats. you did the same and walked to your next class, accidentally trailing behind sunghoon the whole way.
you both walked into the classroom, taking your seat which happened to be right next to him. you loved this class for that reason alone, but at that moment in time, you would have rather been anywhere else. you took out your notebook and pencil, sunghoon glancing over at you. you did the same, him smiling at you when you two made eye contact. you immediately calmed down at the sight, feeling a lot calmer just by him smiling at you.
but then the conversation you previously had with jungwon popped into your head. as much as you hated to admit it, jungwon was right. you needed to talk to sunghoon about the way you two felt. it wasn’t good to just let it hang in the air. but one look at sunghoon, and all the sensibility in your body flies out the window.
so, you did the only thing you could think of at that moment in time. you picked your phone up off your desk, and quickly found sunghoon’s contact. you sent him a quick text to meet you by your car after school, and waited anxiously for him to read it. he laughed at something his friend said and looked at his phone after hearing the vibration. he read it and replied to you with a short, but sweet “i’ll be there :)”
the rest of the school day seemed to drag on and on. fifty minute classes seemed more like an entire day. once the final bell rang, you felt your nerves skyrocket. you took your time walking to your car, preparing everything you were going to say in your mind. you didn’t want to go into such an important conversation blindly. in no time, your eyes landed on sunghoon leaning against your car, presumably waiting for you.
he glanced up, made eye contact with you and immediately smiled. you couldn’t help but smile back. “hi,” he said as you made your way over to him.
“hi sunghoon,” you replied, putting your stuff in the back of your car. “you can hop in the passenger seat if you want, i just want to talk to you for a second.” sunghoon simply nodded and did what he was told, you doing the same.
“so what’s up, y/n? i assume you wanted to talk about something?” you nodded, and turned in your seat so you were now facing him. your heart clenched at the sight of him. he was wearing a white crewneck and his black sweatpants, his head leaning back against the window. the way the sun was sitting in the sky made the sight all the more mesmerizing.
you shook the thoughts out of your head, trying to focus on what you were going to say to sunghoon, but you couldn’t seem to focus. “come on, stop staring and talk to me, love. what’s up?” you mentally cursed at the pet name, losing track of everything going on in your mind. he always did that. flirted with you at the worst times.
“i was going to talk to you about us. and how i feel,” you said, your voice a little shaky. this seemed to catch his attention, cause as soon as the words rolled off your tongue, he sat all the way up giving you his full attention.
“okay, im listening. what’s up,” he said, his voice soft. he knew how you worked, he knew you could get a little nervous during serious conversations. he kept his voice soft, hoping it would keep you calm. he smiled at the way you took a deep breath, and played with your hoodie strings before you spoke.
“we’ll for starters, we all know about the way i feel about you…” his smile only widened as you began to talk. “i like you… hell i may even love you. but you know i’ve been distant lately and i think you deserve an explanation as to why.” sunghoon simply nodded, motioning for you to continue.
“the truth is is that, i got scared.” he tilted his head in confusion, listening to you wholeheartedly. “and before you ask what i got scared of… i got scared of everything. i got scared of hurting you, you hurting me, not being what you need.. i could continue but that’s basically the gist. i’m scared of doing something to run you away because i really really really don’t want to lose you.”
it took sunghoon a second to process everything you had told him. but he was beyond thankful that you said something. truth be told, he was in utter confusion as to why you had basically ghosted him. it hurt him a lot, but it made him feel a lot better to hear you give an explanation. “okay first of all, thank you for saying that, i didn’t know how bad i needed to hear that until now. and i understand where you’re coming from, trust me. but you don’t have to be scared. not with me.” you smiled at his words, your nerves beginning to calm.
“i am not going to hurt you, that is a promise. and i know you enough, to know you would never do something purposefully to hurt me. and in response to you not being what i need… i don’t think you quite understand.” you tilted your head in confusion at the statement.
“what don’t i understand?” he had to stop himself from chuckling at the lost look on your face that he found to be absolutely adorable.
“i don’t think you understand that you’re everything i need. you make me happy, you keep me sane. when i’m around you, everything just feels right. you could never not be enough for me because you are everything to me.” all you could do was smile at his confession. no one had ever made you so happy and no one had ever made you feel so loved.
“you don’t have anything to be scared of, y/n. i’ve got you, you’re safe with me. i think me and you have a really good shot at this, don’t you think?” all you could do was reach over the center console and pull him into a hug.
your arms wrapped around his neck as his made their way to wrap around your waist. after a moment he ended up pulling you into his lap, so you were straddling him. he smiled up at you, and then began to lean in. he pressed his lips to yours, you melting into his touch. once he pulled away, he pulled you into a hug once again, your head resting on his chest.
and at that moment, you knew for sure, that you were in love with park sunghoon. and you knew that you and your heart, were safe with him.

“so y/n, is there any special boy in your life right now,” your new friend daeji asked, a mischievous smile on her face. you giggled and shook your head at the question, the smile staying on your face. you had only met daeji a few days ago but you already loved her. she was a transfer student from another district and the both of you had gotten very close, very quickly.
both of you are still in the process of getting to know each other, hence why the question was asked in the first place. “what?! how is there not, i’ve never seen anyone as pretty as you. is there anyone you’re into, though,” she continued, making you smile once more at her kindness.
“no there’s not,” you confirmed, making her slump in her seat. you laughed once more, and as if on cue, jungwon walked up. daeji perked up at someone of the opposite gender walking up to you, a small smirk on her face. you had mentioned jungwon once, but only as a close friend. she had never actually met him, and she was not disappointed. you’re pretty, he’s pretty so why weren’t you dating?
“hey y/n,” he said, his eyes bright and his smile wide. you greeted him back and motioned for him to sit down, which he immediately did. he set his backpack down and his eyes landed on daeji. “who’s this, y/n?”
“oh, jungwon, this is daeji. she’s a transfer student and one of my new friends. daeji, this is jungwon, my closest friend at this school,” you said with a smile, it widening when you turned to jungwon. daeji smiled and waved, and glanced at you, noticing how close you and jungwon were sitting. ‘there’s no way they aren’t dating,’ she thought.
the three of you sat there for a while, speaking about anything that came to your heads. that was until jungwon had to go and meet up with jay. apparently they were partners for a project and needed to work on it. “alright, it was really nice to meet you, daeji. bye y/n,” he said, leaning down to give you a hug. you two hugged the same way you always did, your arms around his neck, his arms wrapping around your waist. he gave you a small smile before rushing off to find jay, leaving daeji awestruck.
you looked at her and laughed at the shocked look on her face. “what,” you asked, still giggling.
she looked at you like you were insane. “y/n who the fuck is that, and why aren’t you dating him?” now it was your turn to give her a weird look.
“jungwon? no no we’re not like that. he’s my best friend,” you assured her, but she clearly didn’t believe you. which was understandable.
“best friend my ass, y/n. you’re in love with each other and i can see it! the way you looked at each other… holy shit i’ve only ever seen that in movies.” did he really look at you like that? “and you look at him the same way! a few other guys have come up and talked to you within the past few days and you didn’t look at them anywhere near the same way you looked at jungwon.”
“i told you daeji, he’s my best friend. we’re not like that,” you said once more, but that doesn’t mean the thought didn’t creep into your brain. all she did was laugh and call you crazy once more, saying her final goodbyes to you for the day. you made your way home and you couldn’t help the fact that what daeji said was stuck in your head.
she had a point. you and jungwon were always close. you had been best friends since you were little, so he always had a special place in your heart. did jungwon really look at you the way she said he did? and did you look at him the same? you tried to shake off the thought. there’s no way it would work. but you still felt that little bit of hope.
the next day at school, you met up with jungwon like you always did. every morning, without fail, you and him always met up by your car so you could walk into the school together. when he walked up to you, you took notice of the way he looked. really took notice. he was wearing a black and white striped sweater, and black sweatpants, his hair a perfect mess atop his head. your breath got caught in your throat. he looked amazing. how have you never noticed this before?
oh who are you kidding. of course you noticed. you always noticed, you just never wanted to admit it. he walked up to you, a big smile on his face. you greeted each other the same way you always did, a hug and a small ‘hello.’ except, this hug was different. you hugged the same type of way, but it just felt different. he lightly squeezed you, making you laugh and the only thing going through your head was how badly you didn’t want to let go.
unfortunately, he did let go, and led the both of you into the school. you two walked in with huge smiles on your faces, daeji giving you two a smirk when she saw you. you walked up to daeji, jungwon glued to your side, daeji immediately taking notice. ‘the only people who don’t know how they feel about each other is each other, this is just sad,’ was exactly what was going through daeji’s head.
so when the first bell rang and you went off to your class, hugging jungwon goodbye, she decided she needed to do something. after you walked off, jungwon continued to watch you for a moment, not turning back until daeji pretended to clear her throat. after she did, he whipped his head back to her, acting like nothing had happened. all she did was give him a knowing look, and he visibly deflated. “why are you looking at me like that,” he asked, still playing dumb.
daeji simply scoffed. “you like her.” jungwon froze in his spot, immediately tried to deny it. “don’t even try to give me the whole ‘she’s my best friend’ thing, i hear it enough from her when she tries to deny her feelings for you.” jungwon’s heart dropped to the floor, as did his jaw. did he hear her right?
“i’m sorry, one more time. what???” daeji laughed at his reaction.
“you both are so oblivious. everyone can see the feelings you both have for each other, except the two of you,” she explained, jungwon still looking like a deer in headlights. he simply couldn’t believe what he was hearing.
daeji was right. jungwon had developed feelings for you a very long time ago. he had seen you at your best, when you turned 16 and got your drivers license. and he had seen you at your worst, when your first boyfriend broke your heart. he stuck with you through all of it because he loved you and he never wanted to be without you. did you really feel the same?
“go find her, jungwon. i’m tired of seeing the both of you pine after each other. even if i’ve only known you for a day.” jungwon only nodded, running in the direction you left in, frantically searching around to find you. then he remembered exactly where you would be. the art room. that was the class you had just gone too, and he knew the teacher. they were cool with each other and you and the teacher were also very close.
he rushed to the art room as fast as his feet would carry him, the only thing on his mind being you. when he finally arrived he pulled the door open and his eyes immediately locked with yours. you smiled softly at the sight of him, stopped what you were doing and walked up to him. “hey. what are you doing here, aren’t you supposed to be in chemistry,” you asked, your tone soft and playful.
“uh….yeah i am supposed to be in chemistry… mrs. fleming might kill me, but there’s something i need to tell you, and i don’t know how much longer i was going to be able to wait,” he explained, his nerves building every second. you simply nodded, grabbed his hand and pulled you into the empty hallway. the small touch sent waves of electricity through you, bringing a wide smile to the both of your faces. if only you two knew what was about to go down.
“alright, here goes nothing. i was just talking to daeji and she called me out for staring at you…” his tone was soft and comforting, calming your nerves immediately. but as soon as the words left his mouth about daeji, you knew she had said something.
‘great, now he knows. he’s just gonna tell me he doesn’t see me like that. oh god let’s just get the rejection over with,’ was the only thing spinning through your mind. your mind didn’t even process that he said he got caught staring at you.
he seemed to notice your hesitation, but he knew he had to get this out in the open. “y/n i know this may be overwhelming and a lot to take in but i really need you to know how i feel.” he took a deep breath, and relaxed when you took his hand in yours.
“you can tell me anything, jungwon.” your calming voice was enough to give him the confidence to finally get the words out.
“alright so… y/n i really really really fucking like you. you’ve been there for me through absolutely everything and you’re genuinely the most beautiful girl i’ve ever seen. you make me so damn happy and i’m so thankful to have you in my life. whether that’s you as my friend or something more. i just wanted -”
you cut off his rambling by pressing your lips against his. you supposed he wasn’t expecting it because it took him a second to respond, but eventually he was kissing you back. one hand found it’s way to your waist and the other cupped your cheek. both of your arms were wrapped around his neck, pulling the both of you closer to one another. the kiss was soft and passionate, making it clear the both of you had been wanting this for a while.
when you finally pulled away, both of you were breathing heavier, but there were wide smiles on your faces. his hands stayed on your waist as he pulled you into a hug, you nuzzling your face into the crook of his neck. “the feeling is mutual, jungwon.” you felt like you could hear him smile, him pulling you even closer if that even possible. “it’s always been you. it’ll always be you.”

“hey baby. what are you doing,” sunghoon asked after seeing you lying on your bed, staring at the ceiling during one of his daily visits. he always made a point to come see you everyday, no matter what you two were doing. he couldn’t stay away from you, and let’s be honest, the feeling was mutual.
“literally nothing. i’m so bored, i’ve been sitting here all day,” you complained, whining at the end of the sentence. all sunghoon did was chuckle, and began thinking of what to do. it was like a light went on in his head, because he held his hand out to you, motioning for you to take it. you did and he basically dragged you out to the car, a mischievous smile on his face.
“what are you up to, park sunghoon,” you asked, partly in confusion, partly in excitement. he opened the door for you, shutting it once you got in, him climbing in after you.
all he did was smile once more. “that’s for me to know and for you find out.” he put the car in drive, backing out of the driveway, his hand claiming it’s spot on your thigh. as he drove, he had one hand on the steering wheel, and the other drawing small circles on your inner thigh. the action was driving you insane, but you would never tell him that. you decided to turn on the radio, thinking out loud by ed sheeran spilling out of the speakers.
a smile made its way on sunghoon’s face immediately after hearing the song, him quickly pulling over on the side of the road. he put the car in park, and hurried out of the car, telling you to do the same. he rushed over to you, holding his hand out in front of you. “may i have this dance,” he asked with a fancy accent, making you giggle. you muttered a soft ‘of course,’ and placed your hand in his.
his other hand made its way to your waist pulling you closer, so your head was laying on his chest. his hand that was holding yours also moved to your waist, your arms wrapping around his neck. you and sunghoon stood out there, swaying slowly to the song. it was as if you two were the only other people on the planet. nothing else mattered to the two of you except each other. “take me into your loving arms,” the song said, sunghoon’s grip on your waist tightening slightly.
“kiss me under the light of a thousand stars,” sunghoon sang, beginning to sing along to the song, quietly in your ear. his voice sent a sense of peace through you, you melting into his touch. “place your head on my beating heart. i’m thinking out loud.” he continued to sing, one of his hands now resting on the small of your back. he pulled his head away from you to look down at you, a sweet smile on his face.
“maybe we found love right where we are.” after he finished the line, he leaned in and pressed his lips to yours, cupping one of your cheeks. you immediately kissed back, your hands resting on his chest. when you finally pulled away, he placed his forehead on yours, holding eye contact with you as you smiled.
he laced his fingers with yours as the song began to fade out, a comforting aura surrounding the both of you. and as you stood out in the street, wrapped in sunghoon’s arms, you realized that there was no other place that you would rather be. anywhere with sunghoon was where you belonged.

drew looks at me, i fake a smile so he won’t see
your heart clenched at the sight of sunghoon. he was in the front of the classroom, with his best friend jake by his side. sunghoon had always been a little bit of a class clown, and jake was always right there with him. the teacher had told sunghoon to quiet down, but all sunghoon did was get louder. the teacher just laughed it off. sunghoon had always been her favorite.
she went on talking about some history topic, you zoning out in the middle of it. you couldn’t find any motivation to actually pay attention, so you let your thoughts wander. and they landed where they always seemed to go. sunghoon. you couldn’t seem to get the boy off your mind. he was always there.
you and sunghoon had always been very close. you basically grew up together, your parents being very close friends. naturally, feelings began to bloom. you caught yourself staring at him when he was focused on something, smiling a little wider when he cracked a joke. your thoughts were interrupted when the school bell rang. everyone jumped out of their seats, basically running out of the classroom. you were one of the last ones out, sunghoon waiting for you by the door as he always did. “hey y/n,” he said, a bright smile on his face.
“hey hoon,” you replied, returning the smile. you walked out of the classroom together, making small talk as you walked to your cars. as you got to yours, you leaned up against the door, smiling up at sunghoon as he spoke.
“hey uh, can i tell you something,” he asked, his aura suddenly seeming uneasy.
“yes, sunghoon, of course. you can tell me anything.” he smiled at your words, calming down immediately. he took a deep breath, before speaking, playing with his fingers hoping you would take the news well.
“okay well um… i met someone. a while ago. and she’s really great. her name is minhee, and i really really like her. no one else knows except for you, obviously. i wanted to tell you first because i trust you the most,” he said, his smile widening as he spoke. yours did the opposite. you felt your smile begin to drop, but you immediately fixed it.
i’ll bet she’s beautiful, that girl he talks about
your heart dropped to the floor at the announcement. you could feel the tears begin to form but you held them back. “oh um… that’s really great, sunghoon. i’m happy for you,” you said, forcing a smile. he didn’t seem to notice, as he smiled wide at your reaction.
“how did i know you’d say that? i’m glad. i cant wait for you to meet her, she’s absolutely amazing.” you could tell by the look on his face how he felt about her. his eyes were bright, and his smile was wide. it’s the way you wished he would talk about you. he kept going on about her, and you could hardly stand to be there any longer.
“hey, um, i got a lot of homework to catch up on… i really gotta go.” your voice was soft, your smile beginning to fade. yet, he still didn’t notice.
he smiled once again, your stomach churning. “of course. you get home. text me when you get home, yeah?” all you could muster up was a nod, quickly getting into your car. he walked off to his, you quickly driving home.
as soon as you got there, the tears began to fall. all that went through your head was the thought of sunghoon with another girl. the thought tore your heart to pieces, and you couldn’t control the tears.
the next day at school was when you met her. “hey y/n,” you heard sunghoon call. you plastered on a fake smile, and turned around to greet the boy. he jogged up to you, holding the hand of some girl. the second you saw her, you could see why sunghoon liked her. she was gorgeous. she had long dark hair, big eyes, and a bright smile. “y/n, this is minhee. minhee, this is y/n.”
you smiled at her, and said a small hi, making small talk. a few minutes later, jake walked up and pulled you away from the two. you two had almost gotten to class when jake stopped walking. “how are you holding up,” he asked, voice laced in concern. you shrugged, not exactly knowing what to say.
“i’m fine.” jake just sighed, clearly not believing you.
“if you need anything, i’m here for you, okay? i know it’s got to be hard on you. just… call me if you need anything, yeah?” you nodded, a small smile forming on your face.
“i will, jake. thank you.” he smiled back and walked into the classroom, taking his seat, you doing the same.
a few moments later, sunghoon walked in, minhee right by his side. what? since when was she in this class?
they sat down right next to each other, your heart dropping once more. you didn’t know how much more of this you could take.

that day after school, sunghoon and jake ran up to you, a big smile on sunghoon’s face. “hey y/n!”
you looked up at him and smiled, greeting him back. “me, jake and minhee were just about to go out to eat. do you want to come?” you were taken aback by the offer, looking to jake, asking for silent advice. you could tell by the look on his face that he wanted you to be there, so you agreed.
“perfect! just meet us there, yeah?” you nodded and everyone made their way to their cars. you took a deep breath before getting into yours, mentally preparing yourself for the next hour or so. you had no clue how this was going to go.
his invite actually made you upset. clearly he didn’t know how you felt. if he did, he wouldn’t have invited you to go out to eat with his girlfriend. the only reason you were going was because of jake, you would have felt like a jerk if you left him there to third wheel all alone. if only sunghoon knew about the way you felt.
you arrived to the restaurant, walked in, and quickly found the table they were sat at. you took your seat beside jake, him smiling up at you gratefully. “hey y/n,” minhee said, her smile bright. you faked a smile back in greeting as the waitress came by to get your drink orders.
“so um… how did you guys meet,” jake asked, trying to get a conversation flowing. you nodded at his question, wanting to know the answer.
“oh, our parents are really close friends. they were all having dinner together a while ago, and they brought minhee. we immediately hit it off,” sunghoon said, the smile never leaving his face.
jake nodded, and kept asking questions about their relationship, only making you more upset. not at jake, you knew his intention wasn’t to make you sad. his intentions were always quite the opposite. you just didn’t know how you were supposed to sit there and listen to the boy you were in love with gush about another girl.
throughout dinner, the two were top tier cringe. they would feed each other, giggle, and make small jokes, basically ignoring you and jake. jake would send you sympathetic smiles here and there, his heart hurting for you. he couldn’t even begin to imagine how you were feeling.
after it was over, and just as you were about to walk to your car, sunghoon grabs your attention. “can we talk for a second?” you nodded despite your nerves, and followed him to your car.
“what’s up,” you asked, wanting to get the conversation over with.
“i just want advice…. y/n, i’m in love with her. but… i don’t know how to tell her.” and that’s when your heart shattered. you nearly fell to the floor, but you managed to keep it together.
“a-all i can tell you is to just be straight forward. do it during a date, or just whenever the time feels right. when it’s time, you’ll know.” he smiled at your words, pulling you into a tight hug.
she better hold him tight, give him all her love
you hugged back, simply trying to enjoy the moment while you could. “thank you so much, y/n. you’re an amazing friend.” you sent him a smile, as he jogged back over to minhee, jake coming to you.
as soon as you were sure sunghoon was gone, you broke down. jake caught you before you could fall, the tears flooding down your cheeks. you couldn’t contain your sobs, as you held onto jake for dear life, him holding you just as tight. “hey, it’s alright, y/n. i’m here, it’s okay.”
he stayed there until you calmed down, even offering to take you home. “n-no. i’ll be okay. thank you jake.” all he did was smile, walking back off to his car once he was sure you were alright.
you got home that night, immediately plopping onto your bed, thoughts plagued with sunghoon as always. there was nothing you could do. he belonged to her now, and she belonged to him.

you just had to accept it. you were in love with park sunghoon. park sunghoon was in love with minhee. and you were sitting in your room alone on a friday night.

once upon a time
i believe it was a tuesday when i caught your eye
“look at them! they’re so cute!”
“what i would give to be with jake. she’s so lucky!”
“they’re perfect for each other.”
you had to bite your tongue to hold back the comebacks at all the compliments. you appreciated all of it, you really did, but they were wrong. they had no idea how things really were.
you and jake were always known as “that couple.” everyone wanted to be just like you two. you were always together, wore matching outfits, and were so in love. everyone was rooting for you two, and it hurt to know it was probably not going to last.
when you and jake met, the connection was instant. you two clicked immediately, getting along really well. jake is a smooth guy, so it didn’t take very long for the two of you to begin dating. you both were so infatuated with the other. you really thought that you two would be together for a really long time. but, that was before everything started changing.
you didn’t even notice when it happened, you just thought he was tired. and then it happened again. he was coming home late, not answering your messages nor your calls. when you would be together, it was constant fighting. you two would fight over such little things, and you were beginning to debate if it was even worth it at this point.
when you go out with jake, you always make sure everything looks like it’s going great. you were terrified of anyone knowing about your crumbling relationship. you were scared of being seen as the girl who can’t keep the boy everyone wanted. because it’s true, everyone in town would kill to be with jake shim. you see why, he was incredibly attractive, and to new people he’s incredibly kind. and that’s not to say he wasn’t kind to you, because he was. he was just very distant. he acted like he could care less about you.
no one even noticed the issues in your relationship. no one knew about the lack of communication. no one knew about the fights. and that’s how you wanted to keep it.
hell, you couldn’t even be around jake without feeling like you didn’t belong. he ignored you half the time, and was constantly on his phone. it hurt like crazy to think that he didn’t want you anymore. because truthfully, you wanted him more than anything. you loved him with everything you had, but you didn’t want to keep him in a relationship he didn’t want to be in.
and you flashback to when he said forever and always
jake had just arrived at your home after you invited him over for a “movie night.” you wanted to get with him so you could talk to him about everything going on. at first you were just going to ignore it. you wanted to be with him, so you were willing to do what you had to do. however, you didn’t know how much longer you could take it. you had to know how he felt.
“hey y/n,” he said as he walked in the door. your heart clenched at the sound of your name. he used to call you cute pet names, like baby, love, princess, even darling. but now it was simply just your name.
“hi, jake.” he sent you a small smile and made his way to the couch, plopping down in front of the tv. he grabbed the remote and turned it on, patting the spot next to him, telling you to sit. you did as you were told, and took your seat.
“what do you wanna watch?” you took a deep breath before turning around, so you could face him.
“um actually… i was hoping we could talk?” you held your breath, hoping he wouldn’t question anything. you were relieved when he nodded, and turned the same way, so you both were facing each other.
“yeah, of course. what’s up?” he was being incredibly kind today, and that made it hard for you to do what you were about to do. but, it had to be done. you swallowed the nerves, and looked up to meet his eyes.
“do you still love me?” his face changed in an instant. he went from calm, to confused, to upset and somewhat angry. he stood up and scoffed.
“why the hell would you ask me that?” you sighed, and turned once again, so you were sitting the right way on the couch. you had a feeling that this was how it was going to go. you couldn’t say you were surprised at his actions.
“because, jake. you’ve been so off. you don’t act the same around me the way you used to. you act like i don’t exist half the time,” you said, your voice steadily becoming stronger. you weren’t going to raise your voice. you were going to be mature, but you still wanted to get your point across.
“i don’t know what you’re talking about. i’m acting the exact same,” his voice becoming louder. you stood up and took a few steps over to him, making him step back.
“jake, do not play dumb with me. you know exactly what i’m talking about. i just want to know what i did wrong to make you start acting this way towards me.” your words clearly hit a nerve. he froze in his spot, a far away look on his face.
he quickly snapped out of it, however, and sighed in frustration. he didn’t say anything and that’s when it hit you.
“you didn’t mean any of it did you?” the guilty look on his face told you everything you needed to know.
you didn’t mean it baby… i don’t think so
“you were lying to me the whole time, weren’t you?” your voice became louder, not caring if you were being too loud. the realization hurt more than anything and you were beyond upset.
“y/n i-”
“no jake. you don’t get to say anything. you don’t know how i’m feeling, and i don’t think you ever will. why jake? why?” your voice began to break, and you did your best to hold it together. you didn’t want to cry in front of him. you weren’t going to make yourself look weak.
“i think you need to leave, jake.”
“y/n, please, let me explain-”
“jake i told you, no. i don’t want to hear it. just leave. please.”
he sighed, this time in sadness. he walked past you and to the door. he turned the handle and before he walked out, he turned to you. “i’m so sorry.” and then he was gone. as soon as he left, it all hit you at once.
he was gone. you just lost him. jake was no longer here. you didn’t have jake anymore.
you already missed him. but was he even worth all the heartache?

“sunghoon, baby, where are we going?” he chuckled and opened the car door, motioning for you to get in.
“it’s a surprise, love.” he chuckled at the small sigh you let out, climbing into the car himself. he had been trying to find the perfect place to take you for forever, but he hadn’t found it. until he saw something about a cherry blossom festival. he looked up pictures, and he immediately knew he had to take you.
he had been looking forward to this day for a very long time. he had feelings for you for months, but he never had the courage to tell you. it wasn’t until you mentioned sunghoon today your close friend jake, that sunghoon asked you out. of course jake had to tell sunghoon, why wouldn’t he? it’s jake.
the car ride to the festival was full of laughs, and belting olivia rodrigo. sunghoon felt his stomach erupt into butterflies, and he could not seem to wipe the smile off of his face.
and when you two arrived and you could see all the cherry blossom trees in the distance, he melted on the spot when he saw your reaction. you were in awe. you had never seen something so beautiful in your life, and you didn’t even know what to do. you looked over at sunghoon, your smile turning your eyes into crescents.
“you like it,” he asked, still smiling like an idiot. all you could do was nod. you two hopped out of the car, and walked over to the ticket booth hand in hand. when you two got into the festival, you could hardly say a word. you were so taken aback by the beauty of it all.
little did you know, sunghoon was in awe too. he fell in love with you just a little more every second that went by. the sparkle in your eye made his heart melt. your smile made his heart skip a beat. your giggle when he said a funny joke made him want to just pull you into his chest and hug you for days.
the pink surrounding the both of you felt like the perfect background. pink symbolizes love. and that’s what the both of you were feeling. no one had ever done anything like this for you before. no one had ever treated you so well.
the cherry blossom symbolizes a time of renewal. a new chapter. and sunghoon was that new chapter. hell, he may even be the last.

“hey, won, we’re gonna head to the store, do y’all need anything? or do you want to come with,” heeseung asked, a kind smile on his face. jungwon looked down at you, and immediately back up to heeseung.
“no thank you hyung, i’m gonna stay with y/n.” you smiled slightly at his response, happy to finally have some alone time with your beau. heeseung nodded, said his goodbyes and walked out the door with the rest of the boys. as soon as the door shut, jungwon was pulling you into his lap, wrapping a blanket around the both of you.
you giggled at the action, as he pulled you closer to his chest. he placed a soft kiss to the top of your head, lacing his fingers with yours. “i miss all the cuddling. i could stay like this for forever.” his words were soft, almost a whisper. you looked up at him, a wide smile on your face.
“i missed all of this too, wonnie.” he returned the smile, pulling you even closer if that was possible. he ran his fingers through your hair, smiling as he saw your eyes begin to close. he knew you must have been tired with all the school work and the long shifts you had been working.
he began to softly him one of your favorite songs, softly giggling when you nuzzled your head further into his chest. before he knew it, he felt himself begin to doze off as well, resting his head atop of yours. let’s just say that was the best nap of your life.
that was until the boys barged in from shopping, and saw you two sleeping. you woke up to the sounds of cameras clicking, and pulled the blanket up to cover your face. “oh come on! it was a cute picture!”
