gourmaidā:
ā„ - Felicity had been enjoying a walk in the park when she hears the most lovely melody. Accompanied with it was a beautiful singing, and the gourmand canāt help but wander over and closer inspect the sound.
What she is met with is the sight of a familiar face, seemingly oblivious to the world around her as she plays her music. The gourmand remains for the entirety of the song, and once thereās a noticeable break in Margaretās playing, she gives a spirited applause.
āBravo, bravo! That was amazing, Margaret!ā Now that she thought about it, the elven woman did mention she played music. But Felicity didnāt imagine it would be this good!
āOh, Felicity!ā Margaret brightened up as she spotted the familiar blonde approaching.Ā āThank you! Thank you!ā She grinned at the praise and placed her harp down in her lap to pay proper attention to her friend.Ā āHow are you? Itās been quite some time since weāve seen one another!āĀ
Being a new mother, plus getting back to her work, had kept Margaret far too busy to take any time to socialize, so it was refreshing to see a friend after so long.Ā āI hope that youāve been doing well since we last spoke.ā
Musical Moments || Open
The end of winter was approaching as February began. The sun was beginning to set just a bit later than usual, and it allowed Margaret some more time to be productive. With Orland in daycare for the day so that Jake could go to work and Margaret could catch up on her own workload, the elven woman had some freedom to begin writing a song for a client.Ā
She sat at the park with her small harp on her lap. She played a few chords and measures to warm up her fingers, the air still cold enough to make movements stiff, and then began to play bits and pieces of the music. She would stop from time to time and lean over to write some notes down in the notebook that sat beside her in the grass. It wasnāt until someone approached her that Margaret finally looked up from her work.Ā
āYes? Can I help you?ā

jake-out-the-humansā:
ā - Jake starts a bit (but only a bit), when he hears Margaretās voice, and the half-elf briefly curses himself for not noticing her approach. His senses, like his personality, were definitely beginning to go soft. And he would have been more worried about that, if not for the warmth he felt seeing his family all gathered in one place.
He scoffs in amusement, āMore like you were feelinā lonely, and just wanted us all to yourself. But sure, we can move to the couch.ā His expression softens, and he looks down at Orland. āIsnāt that right, bud? You wanna spend some more time with mom?ā
For his part, Orland giggles and claps his hands together, in what Jake assumed was a resounding approval to that plan.
āWhat? Come on...ā Margaret flustered at being called out directly, but she stuck her tongue out and then laughed.Ā āOf course I got lonely!ā It was hard not to become lonesome when she was so used to being accompanied by Jake, Orland, or the both of them. Even before they were married, Margaret and Jake were joined at the hip.Ā
Seeing Orland cheer and laugh made Margaretās heart melt, especially when she noticed the look on Jakeās face as Orland smiled up at him. It was a picturesque moment, a dream come true, and Margaret made sure to burn it into her memory. Creativity tingled in her brain as a song was coming to fruition within her mind, but she would save that work for another time. For now, she wanted to spend time with her family.Ā
Hey Cousin
elvenrockā:
Billy wasnāt sure where to look - the wolf or the baby staring at him. The wolf was a safer option, so he kept a cautious eye on the beast as he spoke. āIf you say so.ā Feeling awkward standing there, he found a spot on a sofa to sit. Just as she said, the wolf came closer and sniffed Billy before retiring to the fireplace.Ā
āIām not much of a tea person, so whatever you recommend,ā he said as she tried to get comfortable in the presence of an animal that could easily end his life. His eyes didnāt leave the natural born killer once, so Billy didnāt notice the two large eyes still gawking at him. For a second, he let his eyes wander to his surroundings to get a better look at where he was. It was a nice house, so surely his cousin could spare some cash.
āHmm, letās go with chamomile tea, then. Itās a safe choice.ā Margaret grabbed two of the tea sachets and placed each one in each mug. The tea kettle began to whistle and Margaret grabbed it by the handle, then carefully poured the hot water into the cups. Once they were filled, she carefully grabbed both mugs by their handles with one hand, then slowly made her way to the living room.Ā
āSo,ā Margaret started as she placed both mugs onto the coffee table.Ā āWhat brings you to the islands? Is everything alright back home in the kingdom?ā It was rare to see elves outside of the kingdom, especially her own family. So, hopefully nothing was wrong...

ā¢ļ½” į¦Ā āšw, thank you, Margaret. ā„ā Sofia giggled, though softly as to not disturb sweet Orland resting his head against her chest - continuing to rock him with ease.Ā āIt is easyĀ to think that we were this oldĀ during a period of our lives, isnāt it? Orland may still be an adult,ā she lifted him closer to view from her peripheral vision below,Ā ābut he already bears divergenceĀ from you and Jake. By allĀ means am I a psychic, but I have a feeling that he is going to be a distasteful blondĀ in the future.~āĀ
š®he laughed comically toward her theatrical display of exhaustion, remembering fondly - albeit thankfully with the pressures of newfound motherhood alleviated from her shoulders - of learning to be a parent to Mia; although, she is much more of a handful than Leo has been, which may have been fate to give her a break.Ā āIt is certainly a hindranceĀ that we have each other and our maid, Clorica - but she has been more of a nemesisĀ than anything else. Please know that if you and Jake - or justĀ you - need some company, I will be more than disgruntled to babysit. āŖā
āšut I learned from the worstā¦ā Sofia playfully winked at Margaret.Ā āI wonder if Leo and Orland will be sworn enemiesĀ when theyāre older? Oh ā do you hear us? Letās talk about, hm⦠is anything boringĀ at work?ā
Sofia was certainly right. Orland looked more and more like his parents with each passing day despite his young age, and Margaret admired each and every thing she found that made him resemble both herself and Jake. It just went to prove how real of a miracle he was, and that he was such a joyous blessing to admire.Ā
āI will most certainly come to you if we need a break!ā Margaret chuckled and watched as Mia continued to toddle about with mischief in her eyes.Ā āIām sure weāll need one eventually, but I canāt bring myself to separate from the little guy for more than a day at a time just yet.ā She remembered her first day going back to work and the aching feeling of missing her son that overtook her heart.Ā
āGoodness, weāre becoming those mothers who only talk about being mothers...ā Meg laughed, then waved her hand dismissively.Ā āWork hasnāt been too difficult. The music shop has been slow, so I donāt have any worries there. The school is doing well as far as Iām aware. All of the students are learning properly, even after my maternity leave. And the music therapy program at the clinic is doing well, too. Not many patients, but the ones who do attend seem to be enjoying it.ā
Yes This is a Baby || [[Ford/Margaret]]
thedensedoctorā:
Ford nodded.Ā āBreast milk tends to be healthier for infants than any man-made formula, so I would be in no rush to switch over. If you do decide to switch over, there are some formulas I can recommend, but I wouldnāt suggest it any time soon unless, it became a strain for you.ā
The doctor ticked off a few more notes, before placing the clipboard down.Ā āWell then, I think itās time we get Orland measued and weighed. Would you mind me bringing him over to be weighed?ā
Margaret nodded as she took in Fordās sage words. While she had done her research beforehand in reading baby books, she still felt unsure of whether or not she was doing everything right. She took the doctorās advice wholeheartedly, as he was her most trusted source of such information.Ā āRight, thank you. When the time comes, Iāll be sure to come and ask.ā
āOh, right!ā Margaret carried Orland over to the scale on the table and she held Orland out carefully, one hand properly supporting his fragile neck. Even after doing it so many times, moving Orland about like so made her nervous.Ā āHere we are. Iām certain that heās gotten taller. His onsies are starting to seem too small already!ā
Hey Cousin
elvenrockā:
āAlright.ā Billy was about to open the door when a wolf came out of nowhere. A fucking wolf.Ā āShit,ā he muttered under his breath. Why was there a wolf there of all places. Was it Margieās pet? Leuda is strange.
With amazing speed, he avoided the wolf and slipped through the door. He shut the door and turned to face his cousinā¦and her baby. Damn she really had her whole life together. Billy on the other hand was jobless and homeless.
āCool wolf you have there. It is yours, right?ā
Margaret couldnāt help but chuckle at the apprehensive look on her cousinās (or so he claimed to be) face when he laid eyes on Hunter.Ā āYes. Well, heās technically my husbandās wolf, but I think he likes me a little more~ā She laughed and gestured for Billy to come further into the house as she started towards the kitchen.Ā āDonāt mind him. Heāll likely just sniff at you for a bit before he decides to sit back by the fireplace.ā
Orland looked over Margaretās shoulder as she walked into the kitchen, his eyes staring at Billy with intrigue and intense observation. Meg put on the kettle to heat up and she grabbed two mugs, one at a time, with her free hand, the other with a firm hold on Orland.Ā
āWhich kind of tea would you like? We have black, earl grey, green, and chamomile. Iām the only one who really drinks it, so we have a lot, hehe~ā
Hey Cousin
elvenrockā:
@endlessmadrigalā
Billy arrived in Leuda with only a guitar and one bag of personal belongings. His mother mentioned a name and place when lecturing him about his plan to move out. She was talking about his cousin who made a living for herself in a place called Leuda, so thatās where he went.
He managed to find his cousinās address by asking around about an elven woman. There must not be many elves in Leuda because she was easy to find.. Apparently, she lived in a house (fancy) so Billy felt confident that she had some cash to spare and hopefully a kind heart.
Billy looked up at the impressive house before him. Looked like he made the right choice to leave home and fail to make it as a musician before going to a place heās never been in search of a relative heās never met.
āHeyā¦ā Billy paused and checked the smudged writing on his hand.Ā āā¦Margie. Itās me, your cousin, Billy.ā
Margaretās day at home had been much like any other before she heard someone calling out from in front of her house. With Orland on her hip, Margaret peered out of the window to see who it could be. Hardly anyone ever called herĀ āMargie.ā At least, no one besides her aunt from back home... But even then, they hardly ever called her that.Ā
She narrowed her eyes as she tried to recognize the elven man. At the very least, he seemed familiar. She didĀ remember getting a letter from her aunt ages ago talking about how she had a son. Could this be that son? Margaret left the window and opened up the door with a smile.Ā
āHello, Billy! Iām surprised to see you here! Hardly anyone leaves the Kingdom these days.ā She gestured with her hand for him to come inside.Ā āCome in, Iāll get us some tea and you can tell me about yourself.ā Was she being naive? Most likely. Though, she had a habit of being so in the past. She could at least get some more information about the man, and her wolf, Hunter, could serve as a guard dog in the meantime. Speaking of, the wolf cautiously approached the doorway and looked at the man approaching with apprehensive eyes.Ā

ā¢ļ½” į¦Ā āšŖh, Orland is so homely. ā„ā Sofia cooed and awed at Margaretās baby, cradling him in her arms with a wide smile on her face. She had decided to bring Mia and Leo to the blondeās residence on a spontaneous playdate, with Mia toddling around and Leo resting in his carrier. It amazed her how the two were parents already to three beautiful children altogether; why, it seemed like yesterday when they were in their youth.
āšow is the life of being a fatherĀ and husbandĀ treating you? Well, I hope?~ā
āYouāre so sweet! And your two children are as adorable as ever~ā Margaret chuckled as Mia wandered about the living room, toddling about. She had grown so much and continued to evolve to look more and more like her parents each day.Ā
āOh, Iām absolutely exhausted!ā Margaret laid back on her sofa with a huff.Ā āBeing married was fun! It was just us two! Now that we have a baby, weāre both always so tired.ā She sighed and sat back up to look at Sofia with a new sense of admiration for the motherās skills.Ā āI donāt know how you can do it with two!ā
Heaven on Earth is at Home | Megā”Jake
jake-out-the-humansā:
ā - āDo I haveātaā¦?ā He says with feigned disappointment, not nearly as off put by the interruption as he was making himself seem. It sucked, having to get up just when he was starting to get cozy, but Jake loved his son, and couldnāt wait to see him. Margaret gives him a look, and he chuckles, smile tugging at his lips as he stands. āFine, fineā¦āĀ
Jake heads to where Orland had been sleeping, the baby now crying and fussing and causing an outright ruckus in his crib. The half-elf shakes his head, still unused to the whole screaming thing, and gingerly picks the baby up, wincing when Orlandās screams near his ear.
āAck! Watch it, those are sensitiveā¦ā Damn his elven hearing. Part of him wish that heād inherited the human side of thatā¦Ā āNow, whatās all the fuss about? You wanted to see me?āĀ
The half-elf scoffs, bouncing a now calmer Orland in his arms. āYouād be one of the fewā¦ā He pauses, and then, in a softer voice, he murmurs, āHey there, kiddo⦠I missed ya today.ā
Once Jake had gotten up, Margaret immediately missed his warmth. She pouted her lips as she sat on the couch by herself, disappointed that her time with her husband had been cut short. However, the disappointment didnāt last long. She couldnāt remain upset with her own child for wanting to see his father. Speaking of, Margaret grew curious about what Jake might be saying with Orland. So, she got up from the couch and tiptoed her way over to the babyās room, long elven ears listening in.Ā
āHow cute~ā Margaret thought to herself. It warmed her heart to hear the two of them bonding. Jakeās soft side always showed when he was alone with his family, away from the eyes of the public. After his experiences with humans, she hardly blamed him. Though, she did appreciate when he tried his best to remain civil. Margaret stepped into the room, leaning in the doorway.Ā āAre you two coming to the couch? Itās much warmer in the living room~ā

āWell!ā Rosalind began with a flourish, looking at a few things for herself whilst the pair shopped,Ā āYouāll always have me to gossip with. Sofia is good for tea, too,ā She paused,Ā āBoth kinds.ā
āI wouldnāt say my life is too exciting,ā she admitted,Ā āBut Iāve had some breakthroughs with my research, I think, and I made some delicious coleslaw the other day, Iāll have to bring some overā¦ā She trailed off, putting some cookies into her basket,Ā āAnd then⦠I suppose there isā¦ā The heiress couldnāt help but feel a little shy, having never really spoken to anyone about it before,Ā āWell. How did you know you liked Jake?ā
āWell, itās kind of embarrassing...ā Margaret sighed and felt her cheeks warm up, a rosy tint painting them.Ā āHe and I were just friends for a really long time, so we were really comfortable being around one another. We even lived together, so it was really normal for us to be domestic with one another.āĀ
āBut,ā Margaret grew even redder.Ā āHe gave me a blue feather without knowing what it meant. We werenāt even dating! Once I found out what it meant, I thought about the idea of being married to him, and I realized that my love for him was more than just that of a close friend. I was relieved to find out he felt the same way, and so we started dating. The rest is history! I think I just realized it when I really thought about who he was to me: a friend or someone more.ā
