"Are-- are you threatening me?” Donna’s head is on the verge of exploding and they’re going to throw THAT at her? Bloody hell.
" i've been lying to you. "

Any other time and Donna would have laughed in the man’s face, it wasn’t like they spent a lot of time together– what could he POSSIBLY have to lie to her about?– but making eye contact was a mistake. A big mistake that made the ginger visibly cringe. She’d never seen him so serious before and it was— ‘unsettling’ would be the understatement of the century. Donna narrowed her eyes and leaned forward in her chair. There were people waiting for her scheduling abilities, she knew that, but they could wait. This conversation couldn’t. “Lying to me about what, exactly?”

alteanheiress:
“Get away from me!”
“I’m not leaving you.”
“Go. Just… go.”
“There’s so much blood.”
“They turned me into this.”
“I can’t breathe. I can’t breathe.”
“Traitor!”
“I just want to go home…”
“They’re — they’re gone! They left us and they’re gone!”
“If I don’t make it out of here…”
“I didn’t think it would hurt this much…”
“I’m sorry. I’m sorry.”
“This is my fault.”
“Don’t close your eyes. Don’t leave me.”
“How could you do this?”
“I’m a monster. That’s all I ever have been.”
“Did you know all this time?”
“I can’t… I can’t… I can’t see.”
“I’m doing this for you.”
“Please don’t go.”
“You’re my best friend. I can’t leave you.”
“You… you were lying this entire time.”
“Everyone leaves in the end. They come, and they go. They all go…”
“You promised! You promised you’d stay!”
“You’re just going to give up?”
“Can you see me?”
“This is my responsibility.”
“I’m not just going to stand by while you destroy everything.”
“If one of us has to live, I’d rather it was you.”
“I’ve been lying to you.”
“I never want to see you again!”
“Trust me. One last time.”
“If we go down, we go together, okay?”
“I’m not going to abandon you! Not when you’re like this!”
“You’ve damned us all.”
“I… I have to go.”
“I can’t lose you again!”
“I’ve always known you would become a monster.”
“I’m giving up.”
Any man ever: I don’t like women who swear.
Donna, immediately: Fuck off.
Donna? Being overly sarcastic until she’s gotten to know the person better because that’s The Way She Is? Likely.

The Doctor took a very short pause to thank the universe that Donna was just as… perceptive, he’ll say, as she was before. He took off behind her, though, only a few steps behind, quickly catching up with her to take her hand. Couldn’t risk her running into the TARDIS; instead, he turned a corner, into an alleyway heading the opposite direction. “C’mon, this way. There should be a spot down here where you– we’d be safe.”
Normally Donna wasn’t big on holding hands with a stranger, especially a stranger who seemed to be responsible for a (possibly) real alien chasing after her, but she’d let it go this one time. “Yeah, great.” If she squeezed his hand a little it was only because she was horrified, deep down. “And when we get there you’re gonna explain to me what the hell is going on.”
Something horrifying and of alien origins: *Happens.*
Post Mind Wipe Donna: ... That’s odd.
youwerebrilliant·:
“Tch–” God, this was frustrating already. In all honesty, he was surprised everything didn’t flood her mind just at the sight of him. But, well… good luck for once, he guessed. “Listen, we really don’t have the time to talk about it, just run.”
Oh. Well. If they didn’t have time to talk about it--- Donna risked a glance over her shoulder and soon realized running from Cosplay Alien Man really was the only option. He was quickly gaining on them looking VERY angry. She might even call his expression murderous. “So much for my hour break!” A second later she was on the run, heels clacking against the pavement beneath her feet like never before.
youwerebrilliant·:
“Yeah, kinda my job. Can we get going, before that catches up to us?”
“Before you get too ahead of yourself--- WHY are we running, exactly? It’s a man in an alien cosplay suit! You must’ve rubbed him the wrong way at one of those comic con things! Just apologize-- it’s not like he’ll actually take a bite out of ya!” Oh, Donna. If you only knew.

“Not really, no.” Say anything you want about Donna but you can never call her a liar. “I’m up to my elbows in coffee stains at half past twelve in the morning when I should be asleep and you come barging in yellin’ about how the building’s gonna be under attack tomorrow morning! This isn’t a BANK y’know– it’s a cleaning service! No one’s that desperate for money!”

❛ mentally crafting incredibly angry speeches that i will never say to all the people i hate is my favorite hobby. ❜
“A favorite hobby of yours that is extremely unhealthy because it doesn’t really help you. I’ve been there more times than I count.” That’s the push Donna needs to take out a bunch of blank lined paper and a pen. “My suggestion, Maya? Write those negative feelings down and give it some good reads. Venting exercises work wonders.”

█ This was something she hadn’t exactly pictured herself doing anytime soon. Honestly, before a week ago standard Earth time, Missy hadn’t even really known this woman had existed other than a name she’d heard once in her past Regeneration. Some silly old human, a friend of the Doctor, had asked if she was alright. The Doctor calling this woman his “best friend”.
At the time, The Master hadn’t been certain what had made him more angry.
The Mistress, on the other hand, was a bit more curious. Focused. She wanted to know more about this person, why the Doctor had kept her, and why he made her forget him.
She’d been following her for a good chunk of the day. All-in-all, it was honestly so very dull, but perhaps that had been the point. Woman fed up with her dull, meaningless, humdrum life meets the Doctor and off you pop, adventure away! Missy couldn’t blame her, really. She hadn’t been the first, after all, and she certainly wasn’t the last. Such was the life of an effective immortal travelling with a bunch of humanoid goldfish.
Regardless of the circumstances, this was good. Missy would be able to interact with this woman without her being obsessively biased with the Doctor, thinking she knows him oh so well when she’d only seen a tiny grain of sand in the hourglass. She’d be able to get a feel for her, see what the Doctor saw. She’d set up at a little cafe`–an easy place to just casually stumble across a person when they just happened to be walking in your direction–with a tarot deck she’d snatched from a bookshop; lots of old, dusty books in there, superstitious nonsense, occult books, human books trying to tell the future. It was quaint.
Bit shouty, this one. Firecracker, definitely, in spite of the painfully mundane goings-on of her day. Must’ve been a sight watching this tetchy little human barking at the Doctor when he was too far up himself.
A shame she hadn’t gotten to see it.
“Oi!” She snapped her fingers loudly when the redhead came close to her table out under the awning, shaded from the sun. “Tell ya fortune, dear? No charge! Y’got this….a u r a about ya. Have a sit, let’s see what’s comin’ up in y’future~”
It was one of those never ending days for Ms. Donna Noble and the time only read 10:30 AM. One would think a business that was often ignored and/or replaced with one of those... what did you call them? Roomba? Yeah, that was it-- a business that was often replaced with the newest roomba WOULDN’T leave you with a migraine, but no such luck. The whole point of having a job was to have a job, after all, and with nothing to do around the office or the outside world the other employees- all men- were left to their own devices.
Enter: Fart jokes -- yeah, grown men were happily making fart noises with their hands. Donna, the secretary who was sat directly in front of them, could only listen to so much before she had to get out of there and that was how she ended up where she was now. Going home was an option too, of course, but doing so would get her up to her neck in complaints from Sylvia. That’s what working IS, Donna! Frustrating! Talking like Donna wasn’t in her early forties. Nope, she was perfectly content putting that seemingly unavoidable argument to the side for a few hours.
ESPECIALLY when she remembered how she skipped breakfast that same morning in a pathetic attempt to not get stuck in traffic. Fat lot of good that did. The beautiful idea of getting some food in her stomach fell apart almost instantaneously, though, when she realized a... somewhat odd looking woman was snapping her fingers the way people did when they couldn’t think of a better way to get your attention. Pressing her lips into a hard line, and against her better judgement, Donna warily approached the table.
“I’m givin’ you two minutes, miss.” Later on she would ask herself why she didn’t put up a fight just now. Someone you’ve never seen before talking about telling your future completely out of the blue when you hadn’t even been looking at them? Bit of a red flag, that. Still, Donna couldn’t always repress the curiosity bug she’d had for a number of years now. She put her hands flat on the table and took a seat. “Wow me.”

YOU CAN’T JUST LEAVE THEM!
