FAQ: The Moon is in my sign today. What does that mean for me?
The moon will enter every sign for about 2-3 days every month. In general I don’t find it very effective to say that whenever the moon conjuncts your sun or moon sign you will feel a certain way. It would get pretty exhausting getting swept away in crying fits or emotional explosions for 2 days every month for your entire life! In addition it would get pretty limiting being confined to those emotions only during a certain sign. I find it more effective to make emotional plans according to the moon’s transit and based on your personal birth chart.
If you are trying to manifest money or resources, it may be helpful to do a focused mediation while the moon is in your 2nd house. If you are trying to attract the perfect partner, you may want to do a focused mediation while the moon is in your 7th house. If you’ve been wanting to travel, you could meditate on that while the moon is in your 9th house. If you want a better job, 10th house. Etc. Etc.
Of course you don’t have to wait for these moments. You can always meditate on any matter. But you may find it more rewarding to wait until the moon is in sync with your spiritual purpose.
The moon is the ‘planet’ of emotions and therefore it is a highly personal planet. It is best for you to study yourself, study moments in your own life and see how that relates to the moon’s cycles. Don’t look outside yourself for the answers.
I noticed a while back that many of my favorite songs that I wrote, were either started or completed while the moon was in Aquarius. I don’t have any major planets in my natal chart in Aquarius, but the cusp of my 5th house of Creativity is Aquarius. It would make sense then, that I was subliminally feeling an emotional pull to create something spectacular. ( Of course my draconic moon is in fact in Aquarius so I’m sure that I also feel a little more spiritually aware during those times as well. )
So now whenever I am feeling creatively blocked. I make a note to just take a break and give myself time. And then when the moon is in Aquarius I start again. Even if I don’t come up with anything great. I know that I have started during a moment that my soul usually wants to be creative.
As a female it can be really helpful to make note of your menstrual cycle and the cycle of the moon. Though it will shift slowly to different signs as the years go on, if you have a regular 26-28 day cycle, you will find that your period comes always when the moon is in a certain sign. And therefore your most fertile day will always be when the moon is in a certain sign. It can be helpful for you, in getting to know your own feminine energy to note which sign you are most fertile/least fertile during the different periods of your life.
For me right now my fertility day always happens when the moon is in Aries. Of course Aries is incredibly energetic sign, everything is rush, rush with Aries. I can really feel now when I am fertile more so than any time in my life. Subliminally I may feel certain “urgency” to fertilize my eggs. It could be said that my body has synced up with a Zodiac sign that is reminding me to get to it if I want do it! (LOL). I’ll leave it at that.
Finally, having a cancer moon, I do consider myself to be especially in-tuned to the moon’s transits. During certain Sun Sign transits I feel the Moon’s transit through Cancer a bit stronger than other months. But I don’t feel overly “emotional”. During the cardinal months usually, my senses usuallya bit more heightened and I feel a bit more drawn to water and the sea. But again, it is a little different each time.
In short, I don’t believe there is a blanket answer for what happens when the moon enters your sign. It varies from person to person and from time to time. It is a personal study and a question only you can really answer. Think of the moon as exactly what it is, a monthly calendar to plan your life by, everyone will have different plans and every month will be different.
