I’ve seen a lot of headcanons on the deities, but there’s one that I haven’t seen around much and I wanna talk about it cause I think it’s important.

Ive started thinking of Arcanist as… kind of… a child almost? Especially during the third age. That apocalypse he caused was a pretty textbook childhood blunder, just blown up to a cosmic scale because we’re still talking about gods.

He’s a little boy. If not literally by years (whatever the conversion is for god years) then mentally. He was born from disaster and grew up all alone in the middle of a raging war between two cosmic forces. He figured out his power by himself and blundered around with it until it blew up in his face.

I think he still feels guilty for all the trouble he caused. I think he probably gets nervous around the rest of the pantheon too. I think he’s quiet and shy. Didn’t learn to actually talk until after the pillar incident and goes non verbal when nervous or stressed. He made the fae with their crests to make them easier to read since social cues are hard. I think he’s probably carrying a lot of trauma from all the stuff he’s been through.

But at his core he’s just a scrawny kid who loves space and wants to be let be. And I think that’s good. Follow your dreams, you funky little anomaly.

also! i have decided on the names my clan has given sornieth’s two moons!

VAMALL — “To Be Gold”: the larger, yellow-ish moon orbiting sornieth

VATELL — “To Be Silver”: the smaller, white-ish moon orbiting vamall

”va” is ta’agra for “to be”

“mall” is from ayleidoon “mallari” for “gold”

“tell” is from ayleidoon “tel” for “silver”

both vamall and vatell are considered female deities and are revered as lovers who were gifted to the first dragon deities (earth, fire, wind, water) by the great void to help them stabilize sornieth at the beginning of time.

the two moons are deities of order (vamall) and change (vatell), both of which are needed to keep the world in balance between stagnation and chaos. they are also seen as “body” (vamall) and “mind” (vatell), two parts of a healthy whole.

dragons pray to vamall to aid them with matters requiring physical strength, endurance or stability, such a long journeys, building projects or in preparation of battle. they pray to vatell to aid them with matters of the mind, such as magical experiments, arguments with others or trade negotiations.

Is the color wheel a thing?

Are there pedigree experts running around sornieth with color swatches, turning around newborns as they hatch and marking their colors and eyetypes in the same manner that we generally take down sex height and weight at birth? Squinting at a little hatchling and tasked with discerning if that’s no tert or a very faint Smoke Gene and if this child will actually have the privilege of an “XXX” on her birth certificate

This is Lumen, he has an art history degree and deals in cataloging color swatches. When not tidying up the lair archives he helps out the clan’s nest caretaker, Hinekiri, and the geneticist, Quentael. 

Besides helping with documentation, Hinekiri wouldn't let him within 50 feet of the nursery because hes so clumsy.

After realizing my fodder is waaaaaay more element-diverse than my actual permanent dragons. Oh, well, mom will love them.

(Lowkey considering making a FR sideblog. I’m guessing most of my followers either don’t care about my FR drawings, or only care about my FR drawings. But I kinda like having all my stuff in one place, plus if I start to discriminate I end up posting nothing. What do you guys think..?)
