i cannot tell u how much my life has improved since i stopped expecting myself to be able bodied and neurotypical. i use paper plates and bowls and plastic cutlery for every single meal, i buy a lot of premade food and frozen dinners and meal replacement shakes, i am working on transitioning to work from home when i have bad days, i got these cool elastic laces for my shoes that don't tie so pretty much any pair of shoes can become slip-ons, i put a large bin by my bed for trash. does my life look like an able bodied neurotypical's life? no! bc i am not able bodied or neurotypical! but i tried to be one for so long that i am currently in burnout so i'm doing my best to be kind to myself while i learn how to be both disabled and kind to myself.
