I decided to include this blog in my curation project because I view it as a great example of an online pop-up shop. This blog belongs to a girl named Audrey Roloff who stars in the TV show Little People, Big World. I have seen the show off and on and she mentions her blog, so I had to check it out to see what it’s all about. Recently she included a new portion onto her website, a shop! This is a pure example of the word “pop-up” because it was first a blog, but then she suddenly became a retailer. While she currently has just a few items for sale, she appears to have a bright future ahead of her in the online shopping business!

American teens have long been the country's most-wired age group. But contrary to the stereotype of hyper-connected teens, they say some things are better done in person.

While online pop-up shops are without a doubt on the rise, do they really appeal to all age groups? This article takes a look at what teens think about this type of shopping, and the results are rather shocking. In today's society, most teens are stereotyped as having a mobile phone or some type of device. So one would think that they would enjoy online shopping right from whatever device they are using, but that's actually not the case. In the study that was outlined in this article, teens answered saying that they would prefer to shop at an actual store rather than online. This article only does research on teens, which makes retailers think that most of their sales come from adults. What could be the reasoning for this? Some comments on the article suggest that teens do not have a credit card or a debit card which is needed to make a purchase online. This could potentially be one of the reasons for the low impact of teens using pop-up shops, but more reasoning's would require further research and investigation. I believe that this article benefits my project because it shows that there are in fact some flaws in online pop-up shops. This shows that there is room for improvement in this type of shopping and also helps retailers understand their shoppers better. This one particular shop offers repairs for broken items for reasonable prices. At the start of this business they did repairs on the spot, but they moved on to being able to collect a consumer's item and then keep it and later return to be able to have more time to make the appropriate repairs. Consumers have spoken highly of this shop about their prices and timely repairs. While my curation project focuses on online pop-up shops, I included this article because it shows that this phenomenon of shops has expanded to more than just selling items.
