Alison Bechdel - Bechdel Rule
On Wednesday, drag queens and similar performers began complaining of problems with their Facebook profiles. Artists from across the country reported being forcibly logged out of their accounts and informed that they would need to update their profiles with their legal names in order to lift the suspension.  According to New...
"I gotta say, it's a REALLY creepy feeling seeing my profile pic next to [my birth name]. Out of drag? Sure. That's who I am. But to be called by your boy name when in full face? … I don't know if non-drag performers can really understand how degrading it is. Seriously it's a step above feeling like a wet cat."Â
Here’s a little sketchzine I threw together for SF Zine Fest this past weekend. I’m working on some long involved projects right now, so I wanted to try something loose (comparatively) and low-pressure. This was done in about a week, xeroxed, and distributed for free.
I talked a little bit about my motivations in making this zine in my Zine Fest interview, administered by Channing Kennedy, a video of which is now up online.
I’ll bring some of these to SPX in a few weeks, and I’ll try to have a new one by then too.

I just got home from TCAF! It was really fun. I saw lots of friends. I met cool new folks. I bought beautiful books & things. I ate lots of poutine. I participated in a lovely reading, and also gave a talk with Annie Mok about collaboration.
If you came out to those events, thanks! If you came by my table during the festival, thanks! TCAF is always super-feel-good and this year was no exception.
I hope to keep up the habit of making a new Sex Fantasy for every comics fest I attend. Here’s the third one, which debuted at TCAF. You can read the first one here and the second one here.

I know you didn’t ask me to
And that you don’t care
But I sent you that poem today
Snail mail, it cost 50 cents
Of my hard earned cents
And I know you won’t like it
And that you don’t care
But I sent it because I love you
Like I love my second to last cigarette
And the cold brick wall I...
