I also think that the strength gap is at least partially manufactured women would in fact be stronger overall if little girls were encouraged to do physically taxing games and activities and eat their fill while they’re growing vs having to constantly diet and be sedentary indoors (or god forbid do intense cardio while under-eating). The amount of adult women honestly afraid to lift weights bc they think they’ll get bulky as though bulking isn’t a full time job that athletes have to spend all their time on and anyone on earth gets shredded from just using their adult muscles for their intended purpose, girl your bone density 🥀

Up until I was 22 I was in an abusive household and I would think to myself as I was growing up

"oh once I'm 16 I'll kill myself" "oh once I'm 18 I'll finally end it all" "once I'm 21 I'll do it this time"

And each time that I had reached that age I just didn't go through with it (obviously as im writing this ask now)

I never got the chance to dream of what I would be when I got older, as I kept telling myself I'd be gone by then.

I just turned 25 and my life is fantastic, the family I have are incredibly supportive of me in every way. I'm looking forward to my future now, I want to go back to school, I'm about to start T soon. I'm dreaming now of what I'll be able to do and see when I'm older.

It's never too late to start life, even when someone has robbed you of dreaming of it. That's something I remind myself when I worry that I'm behind on life.
