I don't know if the people over at dreamworks knew what they were doing when they chose to make the penguins of madagascar not only penguins but adelie penguins specifically

they really chose the most curious and aggressively sociable species of birds to be their reckless (self-proclaimed) elite commando spy group and I think that's beautiful...

adelie penguins have been documented to willingly put themselves in harm's way to investigate things they found interesting!! we have records of adelies going against predators much bigger than themselves to protect their kind!!!

also they look like little men in suits. truly the adelie penguin is nature's perfect design and the penguins of madagascar are a testimony to that
