( somehow it ends like this: two seats down she’s seated from the only other soul inside the spacious theatre. she hadn’t noticed him when she’d walked in as the film began, but half way through his presence was known via her peripheral– she was too busy to turn to identify the blur, her doe eyes glued to the screen; she was at the edge of her seat ) ( as soon as the credits roll she slants her head curiously, eyes scanning seo kangjin with an unreadable expression, until a smirk curls at the end of her coral lips. standing up and straightening her skirt, she takes the two steps before she’s seated right beside him, elbow folded on the arm rest and chin resting on the palms of her hand ) ( she tilts her head before eyeing him once more, eyebrow arched ) was it your first time? watching, i mean ( she hadn’t seen the film when it came out a few years back and promptly made the decision on a whim when she saw the poster outside ) the allusions to hitchcock were brilliant, don’t you think? ( she smiles at him, chin still placed on palm delicately. she’d gone through a hitchcock phase when she was thirteen, naturally. although bora preferred more gore– she laughed when her friend had pierced her ear, finding fascination in the blood trickling: he had fainted ) ( there were key points bora looked for in finding someone to play along: kangjin’s answer rode on whether or not he would be fun enough to amuse her. she was an insatiable child )
( ‘ no one in their right mind would pay to watch a movie in theaters when they owned a copy themselves but to him an empty movie theater was an alluring experience, he loved to experience when ever the opportunity arose. he had not expected someone to accompany him throughout the movie or even the fact that the person had decided on sitting two seats away from him when the movie theater was in fact empty. now he couldn’t blame the other person. the third row from the back and the middle seat was in fact the best seat in the entire movie theater. it was not a scientific fact but it was seokang approved. )
( ‘ he is taken aback when the other speaks and for the first time, he notices the person is actually a girl, a girl his age, a girl that goes to his school. )
no.
( ‘ he answers her question with a brief, curt response. he doesn’t see the conversation going past pleasantries but he is once again corrected. he was indeed surprised that the girl recognized details normal viewers would brush over. ) shadow of a doubt. which is your favorite scene?
( ‘ so much for pleasantries. he was now intrigued by the other to say the least and could care less about the man hovering by the door, awaiting their departure. )
