Scoffing, Wells shook his head, “My food? Donoughts are impractical, don’t be so naive. I do have the real deal available to me so thankfully I wouldn’t have to resort--- I feel like I’d perv myself out too much if I even tried. Like, not to kinkshame but...” he drifted off, shaking his head.

Bodhi’s gaze landed back on the male’s face, his grin and he nodded his head slowly at his words – still trying to decipher their meaning. He’d never had anyone talk to him the way Wells’ had been the past few weeks, and he was still trying to work out what way that was. It stirred something in him though, that was for sure. “I guess I’ll have to wait and find out, huh?” He cleared his throat, bringing his hand up to the back of his neck to rub the skin there, a nervous tick. “Well I’m not completely boring… actually maybe I am, I really do like art. Wait – how did you know that I like art?” He grinned, his eyes crinkling at the edges as he continued to fumble with the sugar packet, the small sound of the granules against the paper relaxing him somewhat, though it was getting increasingly difficult to ignore the feeling in the pit of his stomach, more stirring that he couldn’t quite understand.

“ I can show you one time.. it’s easy, it’s about the wrist movement. You’ve gotta have a strong.. wrist.” He nodded, his cheeks once again flushing hot as everything that came out of his mouth now reminded him of a sexual innuendo because he felt the man’s hand touching his and he felt his mind run rampant. Letting out an audible breath he focused his attention on today’s superhero, the one on Well’s shirt instead of the cup he held in those hands. “ I don’t think superman’s embarrassing.” It’s kind of cute. Bodhi’s lips dropped apart as his gaze found Well’s hand again, piecing together the touch along with the words and he felt the stirring again in his stomach, far too much to the point where he had to turn away instead of risk what was coming. “yeah – no, no take it.” He nodded but somehow shook his head at the same time, bringing up his wrist to his gaze but there was no watch there and he wanted to kick himself. “Actually my shift is done.. so I guess I’ll see you?” He turned around, untying his apron from his hips and praying that the stirring was just butterflies.

Wells took to running a finger along the rim of the tips jar, letting a lazy shrug roll off of his shoulders when he heard his next words. “Why would you want to wait to find out?” He found himself asking, the fact that he felt it was a bold move was a fact that was a bit off. Wells wasn’t the hit and quit type, but he wasn’t too often quiet about his attraction. He was spurred to approach Bodhi differently, he figured it was because the idea of rejection unsettled him where it usually didn’t.  In response to his question Wells simply raised his cup, “Along with the others I can’t bring myself to throw out ever. Plus sometimes, uh, you’ve got paint on you occasionally,” he admitted with a sheepish grin. “Something tells me you aren’t that boring though,” he murmured, looking at him over the rim of his cup as he took a sip.

Almost choking on his coffee when he heard what left Bodhi’s mouth, he put his cup back on the service counter. He decided that the boy’s blush was amusing as he collected himself, unable to help the smirk that’d wormed it’s way back to his lips. “You’re going to show me your wrist technique?” He couldn’t help it, it really wasn’t even his fault that the barista walked right into that one, suggestive brow raise and all. “Not superman-- the whole thing. I’m thinking about adding a comic section to Words just so I can read them and ---- yeah, it’s all super dorky,” he said, shaking his head. He wasn’t bashful often, but he wasn’t confounded that often either. However; Bodhi managed to draw both out with the way he retreated suddenly. His brain was working impulsively as he spoke out without thinking. “Hey-- you sure? It wasn’t the comic book thing that made you so aware of your watch was it? Because now that I know your favourite I’m almost inclined to order a second one--- unless it’s telling you you’ve really got some other place to go,”  he braved, eyes darting down to his empty wrist.

What's your biggest fear?

I think dying before I’m ready which--- everyone is worried about that I know. But ever since I was a kid it’s always been there. I don’t know, it’s just every time I have trouble breathing, everytime I have a bad cough, everytime I have chest pain-- it’s there. It could be my heart finally giving out and everytime that little voice in the back of my head is fucking taunting me. You didn’t do enough, you didn’t love enough, how will people remember you? will people even remember you a month from now? Is it going to hurt? Will it hurt the people you care about?  It’s just question after question and it scares me so fucking much. it’s not even the dying that scares me, it’s the fact that I’ve been living on borrowed time for fourteen years and Iiving is still what keeps me up because what if the living-- I don’t know, what if it’s been for nothing?

The grin seemed to be contagious as he felt his own helplessly seeping onto the corners of his lips even more, tugging upward on both sides instead of his usual lopsided smirk. “Remember that? Why.. would you remember that?” He raised an eyebrow, tucking his lower lip beneath his top teeth as he tried to figure out the male’s intentions beneath his words - but he’d never been good at that. “What do I like? I feel like thats a broad question.. I like a lot of things.” He smirked, shrugging his shoulders as he started on the coffee, adding the usual sugars but this time adding some frothed milk too, simply so he could do a pattern for Wells. Though he wanted to kick himself when his usual flower looked more like a heart and he felt his cheeks growing hot, his attention focused on his fingers as he fumbled for a lid to cover it up, but they were out. “The cup.. it’s superman, you like superheroes right?” He tilted his head, well aware of his flushed cheeks but he hoped that the male wouldn’t notice. “It’s a flat white.. the coffee. The crema stays at the top so it still tastes stronger than most milky coffees.. but it’s still creamy and.. good.” He pursed his lips in a small smile, his gaze catching onto Wells’ eyes - a colour he’d never quite seen before but now he wanted to paint them, he just knew he wouldn’t have a colour like that. “You want to feel special?” He murmured, his fingers busied with a sugar sachet as he tried to focus his attention on anything other than the stupid ramblings leaving his lips.

Wells raised a slow brow when he asked him that question, wondering is he was really that oblivious to all the advance he’d been trying to make. Though, a part of him had to grin at the obliviousness, it was cute. “ You’ll find out one day---- maybe,” he added with a small smirk. Despite the fact he usually straight to the point the innocence was something new for him. He didn’t exactly want these interactions to end because he decided to be frank. A chuckle left his lips as his innuendo went over his head once again, eyes lingering on his face as he still tried to figure this barista out. It was quite the dangerous thing--- Wells trying to figure something out, letting his mind run wild with the possibilities and the way he pieced together the small details he’d noticed about Bodhi. “So you like more than just art?” He inquired, that being the only specific detail he knew about the boy from his doodles to the paint he noticed on his forearm one day. 

“Kind of cool how you guys can draw in the coffee,” he muttered, a smirk on his face as he looked up from the heart. Once again, he knew he’d be taking another visit here when he noticed the warmth in the other man’s cheeks, smirk falling to something that was softer. He supposed it was equal when he felt the tops of his ears get warm because he’d probably been in some comic themed t-shirt every time he’d been there. He adjusted his glasses with a nervous chuckle as he just went on talking about the coffee. He still listened though, finding it amicable the way he went on about it like he did. Licking his lips he let out a small laugh, “Creamy and good are about all I understood from that. But I do like the superhero thing, almost to an embarrassing amount," he admitted, raking a hand through his hair. Well’s eyes feel to the way Bodhi busied his hands with the packet for a moment before they returned to his face. “Was that an offer?” He teased, letting a beat pass before he lowered the suggestive brow he’d raised.  “---- Do you mind?” He murmured, reaching for the sugar packet he played with, smirking as he was none too cautious about how much of their skin came into contact.
