I was at an army camp the other day for school and one of the army officers was trying to get us to move or something so he shouted “LAST ONE OUT OF HERE IS A GAY BOY” and literally nobody moved. Not one single person. We just stood in front of him and gave him the “dude-that’s-not-cool” glare. I don’t think I’ve ever been more proud of my school.

when i was in the hospital i had a nurse who stayed overtime after working the night shift and waited till i woke up so we could eat together. all my nurses in intensive care came to visit me when i got moved to pediatrics because they got word that i cried when i had to leave them. the nurse in the ambulance came to visit me because apparently on the way to the hospital i expressed to her that i thought no one loved me enough to visit me in the hospital. my love for nurses is out of this fucking world.

When I was in the ICU after my spinal fusion I had the kindest nurse. When i ended up having a panic attack at three AM and crying so hard I couldnt breathe she talked me through it instead of telling me to just go to sleep like my mom was. She then checked on me every hour and told lame jokes to try and cheer me up. Nurses truly care and go out of their way to make you as comfortable and loved as possible.

When I was a freshman in high school there was a boy named Chris who was a senior who had autism and he really loved Hotwheels. He always wanted to show people his tiny cars and instead of the popular crowd making fun of him they got excited with him. On his birthday everyone bought him Hotwheels and he went home with a backpack full of them. For homecoming they voted him king and gave him a cape with Hotwheels on it. Sometimes high school isn’t so bad.
