Can't believe we've gotten to a place where men are calling themselves lesbians, being completely serious, and anyone who calls them out can get harassed at best or experience serious real life trouble at worst.
why are you defending jkr / gen
Do these tweets look like a call for genocide to you? Can you identify anything hateful in these tweets? Is the tone of these tweets inflammatory or spiteful? Is there dehumanisation occurring in these tweets? Do you believe that credible bomb threats, death threats, calls for boycotts, thousands of tweets and posts claiming that she wants trans people dead that make sure to call her every misogynistic slur in the book, and attempts to erase her legacy, are warranted?
I've encountered a strangely large number of stories online of single men who decide to test the theory that married men are inherently more desirable to women by buying a fake wedding ring and wearing it. They usually report that this works miraculously, women are far friendlier and more approachable, which is immediately interpreted as flirting. The conclusion they draw from the data is that women are inherently cruel, selfish and greedy, because clearly they don't want the man unless they think they're stealing from some other woman.
I wonder how many of these women in these experiments actually just thought they don't need to be wary about this man mistaking friendliness for flirting, since clearly he's not looking to date as he's already making someone else miserable.
I got halfway through the first paragraph above and thought of course women are nicer to men they think are married, the’re not worried about being hit on
God forbid these men just talk to women before they go off doing “research”.
Interesting that to me it sounded so obvious that women would be kinder because - precisely - they’d feel safer. They’d think “cool, this one has a wife, he won’t bother me, I can relax”
And somehow, the men doing the study got the completely opposite conclusion 🤦🏻♀️ if women had more opportunities to be in science over the centuries, we’d have the internet back in 1598
As a radfem of Rwandan descent, I find the “trans genocide” discourse especially heinous. I don’t understand why they’re so quick to use such language to describe not being able to access artificial hormones as children…like honeyyyy my paternal grandparents were murdered by their neighbors. During the Rwandan genocide, ~800,000-1,000,000 people died in the span of around one hundred days. That’s a genocide. In the United States, ~38 trans people were murdered last year…..be fucking for real.
It’s so insensitive to call that a genocide when there are real people who have actually experienced atrocities. It shows how sheltered and terminally online tra people are. It’s simply a high pressure sales tactic to get unwitting people to join their bandwagon because if you don’t, then…you support a “genocide” and that makes you a big fat meanie!!
I just saw this video of a GNC woman asking a genuine question to the trans community about gender stereotypes. And despite her apologising so much for fear of being cancelled, she made some great points. But some of the replies made me go like HMMM.
Okay, but what does a woman feel like? What is a womanly feeling?
This woman legit spent 1/3 of the video begging not to be cancelled and she didn't want to be labeled as transphobic, she just asked a question. Who is she pestering here? She didn't even go to a trans person's page, she uploaded a video asking for input from the trans community because she wanted to understand.
????! How is this not problematic? This is absolutely giving me religious vibes. You aren't allowed to question ANYTHING, you just need to accept it without thinking about it? How is that not terrifying? Blind faith?
Okay, but if you can't explain it then how is it real in the first place?
I think this is my biggest issue with this community. Because you aren't allowed you question, you just need to accept it. You can't ask about it, because then you're pestering. No one can explain what it is, but nevertheless it's real and if you don't think so you're transphobic.
I genuinely think that is very flawed and creates a culture where people are too scared to ask about it in fear of backlash. And furthermore creates ignorance. This legit feels the same as 'god has a plan for us so we should never question it.' And to me that's terrifying.
i love night walks. its such a shame im a woman
