The bad thing about running: You can’t rush it. You want your endurance to increase, your times to decrease and you are willing to work your tail off to get those results. But you have to rest and recover, you have to take it day by day.
The great thing about running: you have to earn it
I made healthy protein donuts with a vanilla protein frosting! I love getting creative in the kitchen :)

For a second I thought this was a pizza and now I really don’t understand why nobody ever puts chickpeas on pizzas. To do!
You know what's kinda sad?
How much we prioritize aesthetics over performance. Not to hate on bodybuilding, but it seems like every bikini competitor on Instagram has 43,000 followers, while girls deadlifting 4 plates have 350.
Both things are great. If you’re working towards a goal, that’s fantastic. If you are trying to better yourself, power to ya.
I just don’t get (well, I guess I do) why people go apeshit over a picture of a tiny model with “abz” and a “booty,” but yet other girls who are putting up huge numbers or performing these awesome feats of athleticism are kinda overlooked.
I am just so much more impressed by someone doing ring handstand push-ups than striations and shit like that.
It upsets me that the fitness industry is so incredibly shallow and disordered sometimes, despite the fact that it’s supposed to be about “health.”
I feel like the reason why so many people like Rhonda Rousey is because she bridges the gap between those worlds? She’s the kinda girl that gives guys hard ons but also makes their dicks retract back inside of their bodies out of fear.
i mean im not just this tiny girl with abs and a butt? i can lift heavy, ive ridden a bicycle 3000 miles across the united states (which i consider an incredible feat of athleticism) and im on this blog doing the best i can to aid people in their journeys. ive seen videos of bikini girls lifting extremely impressively heavy on their pages. leg pressing six plates on each side or hip thrusting 315. i think its often overlooked that because a girl is attractive it means she is shallow
It’s absolutely true. There are tons of bikini girls who lift heavy and regardless of how heavy they lift, they are obviously working their asses off in and out of the gym to create a top physique. I think the point is that most people who follow those girls on social media unfortunately don’t follow them because they’re thinking, “Wow, she works her ass off.” They’re following because they think, “Wow, she’s really hot.” So, in a way, the hard work gets overlooked by others due to aesthetics.
Exactly. I’m not discrediting those people and brushing them off as being weak. I’m simply saying that I wish people cared as much about performance as they did about getting shredded, or looking at people who are lean as hell.
Similarly, I hate that abs are somehow a marker of fitness, when, while they look great, they are not indicative of someone’s ability to perform.
I agree 100000000000%.
I’ve been wanting to say this for so long
You know what. I’m going to reblog this again cause this is actually so important to me and my earlier comment just doesn’t suffice.
I love my body because of what it’s capable of. Power lifting allows me to push my body to a place no other person could get without the time, effort and care I put into my training, life and nutrition. This fact helped me through recovering from 9 years of having an ed. But every time I log on here, all I see is fitblrs praising people for aesthetics. And the problem is, they don’t are how these people get there. No, I’m not talking about body builders nessesarily. This culture, fitblrs, in particular, still praises being tiny and lean over being strong. It’s undeniable, don’t lie to yourselves and fight me because you’re offended. It’s true.
Look, aesthetics is important to me. I’m not saying body builders and amazing and don’t work their asses off, I want to compete in Figure competitions too one day, but fitblrs, don’t forget how much work goes into being strong. Into being a power lifter. A crossfitter, strongman, etc. I kid you not, it’s so, extremely hard. Just as, if not sometimes harder than body building when it comes to training, depending on the person’s investment. Point is, you guys always preach being body positive. This includes acknowledging the people who work hard, pick up 2-3x their body weight and aren’t super shredded or lean or are prepping for a show. Every time someone strong on here posts a selfie and captions it with “Hit a new PR!” or something to that effect, 9 out of 10 times, they get comments complimenting their body/look rather than their perrformance/achievement.
Fuck it I want to be strong and lean like Bruce Lee and not big and muscly like Arnie. I want power for my martial arts and if I get a good body along the way then thats a plus not a necessity.
