Smartwatch Comparison: Apple vs. Samsung
Smartwatches are the ultimate tech accessory for your smartphone. Today’s models instantly update notifications right to your wrist. They can also allow you to search the internet, track your exercise with built in GPS, and allow you to pay for coffee or groceries without pulling out your wallet. Some smartwatches still require the user to be within a certain radius of their smartphone, but advancements in technology are changing that. Apple and Samsung continually fight for the top spot when it comes to smartwatches.
Samsung Galaxy Watch
As one of the most refined smartwatches on the market today, the Samsung Galaxy Watch has a cohesive user interface and an aesthetically pleasing design. The design of the watch looks exactly like a high-end wrist watch and comes in a stainless steel case. With any smartwatch, the small screen make it hard to navigate. The updated bezel (the grooved ring holding the watch face in position) is the easiest way to navigate the watch.
The Galaxy Watch runs on Samsung’s Tizen software which is an update from other Samsung watches. The updated operating system adds an extra day of battery life to the watch. The 46mm watch lasts four days with normal use while the 42mm watch lasts three days.
The watch is also more fitness-focused with the addition of extra sensors and the revamped Samsung Health app. It automatically detects six of the 39 exercises and nudges the user when they are too sedentary.
Apple Watch 3
It seems like Apple updates their devices every single year and the update from the Apple Watch 2 to the Apple Watch 3 is no different. The Apple Watch 3 is perfect watch for the fitness obsessed. The on board tracking makes the device the perfect fitness buddy to wear when running or cycling. The watch is also protected in a water-resistant casing and can be worn while swimming.
While Apple has not seen a reason to update the design of the watch, they have made some internal changes to the chip and the cellular connectivity of the watch. They’ve integrated an antenna into the screen and update the digital crown on the side of the watch.
Apple also created two versions of this watch. They kept one version with the standard GPS which allows the wearer to only travel so far from your phone. They also released a version with cellular connectivity that allows the wearer to go completely phone free while wearing the watch.

How to Sell Your Consulting Services
Consulting services can be very successful and the client-consultant relationship can be a great working relationship. But before you can even begin work on a new client, it is important to learn the needs and resources of your client. Following these steps will help you find potential new clients and sell your consulting services.
Put yourself in the selling mindset Some people are natural at selling while it takes others a bit to adjust. Figuring out what consulting strategies will help you improve your sales pitch and help you land new work quicker. Keeping your process simple because it will save you the additional hassle and headache when it comes to bringing on new clients.
Qualify Qualifying is the attempts at figuring out what the client needs and how your business can meet those needs. When qualifying a potential client, make sure your business is a good fit for the services you offer but the client as well. Different clients can afford different things so pushing them into what you’re offering, might not work out for them or their budget.
Get to know potential clients Once you have qualified a potential client, getting to know them will help you figure out additional information about them and what they are looking for. The simplest way to do this is to just ask them and talk with them. By asking questions, you’ll immediately know if the services you offer are the best fit for them.
Conduct a needs assessment When meeting with a potential client, asking questions to figure out what services they are looking for from you is called a needs assessment. This begins with asking broad questions to determine the needs of the potential client. As the conversation continues and becomes more in depth, you will be able to determine exactly what the client is looking for. Make sure the questions are very open ended to allow them to go into as much detail as needed.
Tailor the pitch Your pitch will chance depending on the person you are pitching your services to. You will be able to win more deals and projects and be able to weed out the ones you are not the right fit for. The more you can tailor your pitch to get the answers you need from the client, the more successful you will be with that client.
Repeat Selling your services isn’t a one time thing. It ensures that you’re pitching constantly. Sharing some of your qualifications with your clients shows that you are honest and transparent in your business practices. The search for the perfect fit between consultant and client benefits all sides of the equation if everything is conducted earnestly.

A 2018 World Cup Recap
This post was originally published on www.yogeshjoshee.uk
A massive number of individuals tuned in on Sunday, July 15th to watch the final game of World Cup Russia 2018. The match between France and Croatia, which ended in the highest-scoring final since 1966, did not disappoint.
While France emerged as the ultimate victor, taking home their second World Cup trophy, it was clear almost immediately that Croatia had come to play. The Croatian team entered the stadium on Sunday down nearly 24 hours of preparation time due to three knock-out matches that increased their play time by the length of an entire extra game. Despite this, the team displayed an admirable level of determination and perseverance throughout the entire first half.
18 minutes had passed before France was able to pull ahead with a shot that nicked the head of Mario Mandzukic of France before soaring into the goal. Croatia responded 10 minutes later with a goal of their own, but the celebration was short-lived as France was allowed a rather controversial penalty shot not long after.
The ball, which came from Antoine Griezmann, struck the left hand of Ivan Perisic after a header by Blaise Matuidi. Argentinian referee Nestor Pitana did not originally notice the violation. It was instead pointed out by a video assistant referee. After careful review, it was decided that the contact was unintentional and Griezmann was granted the conversion, a decision that sparked quite a controversy among players and fans.
The second half of the game was just as riveting as its predecessor, as Kylian Mbappe came into his stride. The 19-year-old “best young player of the tournament” scored a 19 yard shot at 59 minutes, and a 25 yard shot six minutes after.
Croatia answered yet again in the form of a goal by Mandzukic in the 69th minute, making the score 4-2. The goal was the result of Mandzukic’s pressure on goalkeeper Hugo Lloris. It signified a small ray of hope for the Croatian team. Ultimately, time ran out before they were able to even up the score, making France the 2018 World Cup champions.
Frenzy and excitement followed almost immediately, but the French team made sure to acknowledge the incredible feat accomplished by the team from the small country of Croatia. In a gesture of respect, Adil Rami of France applauded the stadium’s largest section of Croatian supporters during his celebratory dance around the field. Another sign that Croatia had fought admirably became apparent when Croatian midfielder Luka Modric was awarded the Golden Ball, indicating that he was the tournament’s best player.
It was a game filled with anticipation, disappointment, shock, and surprise. Undoubtedly, the 2018 World Cup championship game will forever be one for the records.
What To Ask A Potential IT Consultant
Ju
This article originally published on YogeshJoshee.in on July 5, 2018.
Hiring an IT Consultant can be a stressful process. Unlike hiring a marketing firm or a business consultant, an IT Consultant likely needs access to most of your company framework in order to do their job properly. You’ll want to make sure you select the right person or team for your company.
Narrow down your options by interviewing all potential IT Consultants and evaluating their responses on an unbiased scale. You’ll want to ask them all of the questions you would ask any consultant regardless of their profession, in addition to the following IT specific queries.
How much experience do you have in our particular field?
It may seem like an obvious question, but you would be surprised at how many different variations of the IT Professional there are in the world. Information Technology for a financial institution may look completely different than Information Technology for a healthcare institution.
Ask candidates to describe any experience they have working in your industry. Probe for industry-specific complications that they have dealt with and recent successes they have celebrated.
What is going on in the world today that may directly affect my industry?
Similar to the last question, this one is designed to help you determine the candidate’s level of expertise. Are they staying up to date with relevant topics, or have they been using the same technique for the last 20 years?
It may be beneficial to do a bit of research ahead of time in order to prepare yourself for this question. Answer the question yourself and bring your list of potential answers with you to the interview. If a candidate indicates that they are unaware of any industry-related news, prompt them with a specific topic that you have already identified.
Do you have any non-negotiable vendor affiliations?
We all have a list of our favorite products or companies. Odds are so does your IT Consultant. You will need to check whether or not your candidate has turned his or her favorites into an exclusive affiliation. While they are not necessarily a bad thing, vendor affiliations may directly impact the capabilities of your potential consultant.
Make sure that the products and software being utilized are compatible with the equipment and systems you already have. Request the reason behind any particular affiliations to assess whether they were born out of familiarity, comfortability, or merit.
What is your confidentiality policy?
This is perhaps one of the most important questions you can ask any potential contractor or business liaison, but it is particularly important when hiring an IT Consultant. As I mentioned before, you are most likely going to be exposing them to very confidential information.
A reputable IT Consultant will already have a predefined policy, or at least offer to sign one provided by your company. Protect your data assets by shying away from consultants that are openly opposed to a written and signed policy that addresses confidentiality and non-compete cases.
Workplace Automation: Friend or Foe?
Originally published on YogeshJoshee.net on July 2, 2018.
There is an ongoing battle raging between the technologically-advanced and the technologically-challenged. It centers around workplace automation, and it is most likely going to remain on the world’s list of hot topics for the next few years. Why? Because it matters.
Workplace automation, or the introduction of machines and software into employee roles, boasts many advantages and proffers just as many disadvantages. It has the potential to solve common employee problems and, with the implementation of artificial intelligence, it also has the potential to create brand new ones.
So how does one decide whether automated technology is right for your business? The answer probably differs depending on your specific company model and goals. Here are a few pros and cons of workplace automation to consider while making your decision.
Pro: Increased Productivity
It goes without saying that automated technology and processes are capable of performing our duties faster and more efficiently. Eliminating the human factor could be just the push you need to meet your production goals every time you set them. Most machines do not require breaks, temperature control, or stable working conditions in order to do their job.
Con: Decreased Emotional Intelligence
Humans often prefer speaking or working with other humans. It can be frustrating when a robot doesn’t understand your dilemma simply because it isn’t common enough to warrant the work required to program the proper reactions into a machine. Unexpected situations and unsatisfied customers are best handled by individuals capable of exhibiting empathy.
Pro: Higher Employee Job Satisfaction
Although unexpected, automated technology in the workplace can help to alleviate workloads in companies that are understaffed or overworked. Removing the menial tasks from a role allows employees to focus on more meaningful work, which can increase their sense of importance and worth within the company.
Con: Additional Staff Required
Many people believe that automating certain processes will cut jobs and add a few annual salaries back to the company’s bottom line. While this may be true for large corporations, it is not often the case for small businesses. You will need someone to perform regular maintenance on the machine, as well as someone to troubleshoot any potential problems. In addition, you will most likely still need an on-call human presence to step in when the machine is down or ill-equipped to handle an unexpected situation.
Pro: Better Recall and Reporting
Every machine with artificial intelligence, and occasionally some without it, is presumably keeping a record of every move it makes. You do not have to rely on (sometimes) faulty human memory to recap a particular scenario or pull up a work history. The automatic database of details also opens up the option for expanded analytics which can be useful for small businesses in their growth stage.
Con: They Are Hackable
Every machine has the ability to break down, but some automated machines take it one step further. They have the ability to be breached. Because these machines are computers at their most basic level, they are susceptible to exposing sensitive data and processes without exhibiting any degree of morality if they are ever hacked.
These are just a few of the pros and cons of workplace automation. There are many more that may factor in your decision, and ultimately each business will inevitably encounter questions specific to their niche. Be sure to research the proposed technology extensively prior to deciding if automated technology is right for your company.
What You Need To Know About Android P
Originally published on YogeshJoshee.net on July 5, 2018.
The next hot topic in smartphones is here and you’ll be surprised to learn it is not another iPhone update. The technology everyone is currently talking about actually belongs to Android P.
Developers released the third public beta version of Android P recently, which is equivalent to the 4th developer version. While it is not overflowing with never-before-seen features and futuristic capabilities, it is considered to be a massive improvement upon many of the bugs and behavioral issues found in prior versions.
Some fixes seem inconsequential. Others have been long-awaited. Here are the Android P third public beta version features that might help convert even the most devoted iPhone user.
Audio Control
Gone are the days when the default volume adjustment applied only to your notifications rather than your media. The new Android P third public beta version will employ a rocker panel that directly controls your media volume.
Smart Dashboard & Wind Blown Mode
Completely new to Android phones is the dashboard feature. This helpful new screen will allow you to track your screen time. You can even choose to integrate this feature with certain apps to suggest screen breaks and set up limits. Similarly, Wind Blown Mode allows you to set an automatic “bedtime” during which your phone will be placed on “Do Not Disturb,” and your screen will revert to grayscale.
Notification Response
The third public beta version of Android P comes complete with an expanded notification response menu, meaning you can conduct more of your business without having to open your applications. Improvements include smart reply suggestions and the ability to attach photos in the reply bar.
Artificial Intelligence
The expansion of App Actions and the inclusion of the new Android Slices proves that Android is paying close attention to AI in their latest update. Both allow the phone to make smarter, more detailed suggestions based on previous activity and predictive technology.
Privacy and Security
Improvements to privacy and security are usually on the docket for any OS update. In the case of the newest version of Android P, updates include on-phone verification to access encrypted sources, a randomly generated MAC address for every network accessed, and restricted background app access to phone sensors such as the microphone and camera.
Multi-Camera Support
Perhaps the most anticipated of the new Android P features is the ability for it to support multiple camera configurations. One of the most popular reasons to choose a phone with an Android OS is simply the diverse range of options available. Android users are not restricted to a single manufacturer or design concept. This has made it difficult for camera technology to be consistent across all devices.
The Android OS did its best to accommodate some of the more popular configurations in the past, leaving other, less common models out of their support system. The newest version of Android P, however, uses Multi-Camera API to combine image impressions from multiple cameras at once on any phone with an Android OS. Translation? You now have native support for your camera configuration regardless of your manufacturer.
Again, these are not all of the updates rolling out with the third public beta version of Android P. They are however, the most useful!
