āSin grows when we think we deserve something from God. Godliness grows when we remember we are debtors to God.ā

āFor we have brought nothing into the world, so we cannot take anything out of it either.ā (1 Timothy⬠ā6:6-7ā¬)

Never get comfortable where God didnāt plant you.
The true gospel is a call to self-denial. It is not a call to self-fulfillment.
John MacArthur (via alistairradley)
Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.
Ephesians 4:29 (via love-your-bible)
It is a beautiful experience being with ourselves at a level of complete acceptance. When that begins to happen, when you give up resistance and needing to be perfect, a peace will come over you as you have never known.
Ruth Fishel, The Journey Within (via yesdarlingido)
Donāt you simply love going to bed. To curl up warmly in a nice warm bed, in the lovely darkness. That is so restful and then gradually drift away into sleepā¦

Good Habits to Develop
1. Set yourself some daily goals. Keep them realistic and achievable. That will give direction ā so you donāt fritter your time.
2. Read inspirational books and blogs; hang around people who are positive.
3. Stay in touch with whatās happening in the world. Weāre not just islands ā we are part of one another.
4. Make the effort to stay in touch. Just a ālikeā on facebook, or a brief text message, conveys to that person that they matter to you.
5. Invest some time in your appearance and health. Weāre more confident when we look and feel our best.
6. Pay attention to your priorities. Do whatās most important, and not most urgent, first. (Note: If you never learn to prioritise then everything seems urgent ā and thatās what runs your life!)
7. Smile. It makes people feel more positive towards you ā and it tends to lift our mood, and enhance our feelings, too.
8. Tidy as you go. Itās easier to work, and youāll feel a lot less stressed, if youāre working somewhere thatās devoid of clutter. Also, if you tidy as you go then it feels less overwhelming.
9. Include some margin in your life so you donāt feel so stressed, as unexpected things always eat away our time. Expect that to happen ā and leave some extra time.
10. Take time for yourself as you need to relax, unwind, recover, and recharge your batteries.
God is bigger than the situations we face.
We know Satan will attack weak spots first. Forty days of fasting left Jesus famished, so Satan began with the topic of bread. Jesusā stomach was empty, so to the stomach Satan turned. Where are you empty? Are you hungry for attention, craving success, longing for intimacy? Be aware of your weaknesses. Bring them to God before Satan brings them to you.

slow and steady.
weāve been together for seven years, married for two and a half. weāve had ups and downs, weāve had times where we feel super close and in love and so on our marriage game, and weāve had times where we feel distant and so tired of fighting.
weāve learned that we need to make space for each other to thrive. we need to continue making goals, personally and in our marriage. weāve got to make our own sacrifices, to help each other with those goals. always working towards something, always moving forward.
weāve learned that itās ok to have bad days, itās ok if every day isnāt a fairy tale, itās ok to be boring married people. itās ok to stay home and eat pizza and drink beer and do laundry together and watch Friends on Netflix for two hours before falling asleep. itās ok to skip the party and use the kid as an excuse. itās ok if everyday isnāt exciting, because life is hard work and marriage is hard work and parenting is hard work. real life can be mundane and boring and super lame sometimes.
but our love is never mundane, it moves slow and steady and strong. I choose him everyday, and he chooses me. there is always a basic understanding that, no matter how hard it gets, no matter how big the fight, no matter how helpless the situation, we are on the same team and we will work everything out, together, eventually.
so my relationship advice to you is this: find someone who you want to work hard with. someone who you want to work out the big fights with. someone who you can go through the mundane everyday of life with and still be so happy at the end of the day. someone you could be poor with, someone you could figure out money and adult life stuff with. someone who loves your quirks and pushes you towards your goals. someone who balances you out and compliments your strengths and fills in your weaknesses. someone you can always laugh with, someone who eases your mind, someone who keeps you safe. someone who chooses you, and who you want to choose everyday for forever. someone who still excites you even after seven years or twenty years or fifty five years. find that person and youāll be golden.

Ask God to help you see the world the way He sees it.
