In a bizarre fashion trend, women in Mexico are gluing scorpions to their fingernails, which can kill in 15 minutes. The new manicure style uses the second most venomous scorpion, the Centruroides Suffusus. This trend was pioneered at Miss Uñas beauty parlour in Durango, where some 1,000 were killed by the insects last year. The scorpion manicure started as a ‘sick joke’, but now women from across America are visiting for the beauty treatment. Insects are also considered a delicacy and one city centre restaurant is serving scorpion tacos to daring diners. (Source)
