The reason for this Stand’s strange ability is as mysterious as its enigmatic user. All that is certain is it is a fusion of his prior beings’ own Stands, gaining attributes and abilities of the two. If and how this Stand reflects Gappy’s personality is still unknown, yet some might find connection between its ability to take away attributes for its own and Gappy’s search to fill the blank slate of his own self.

It can take years to fully develop a Stand, which can either give it increased strength or durability or give it a drastically new ability.

Soft & Wet’s primary ability is 「Plunder」. This ability allows it to steal an attribute from an object or living being that comes in contact with one of its bubbles and steal it for itself. It can then store it and later reattach it to another object or return it to the original. The attributes it can steal can differ greatly without any known limit, including friction, fur, sound, and even eyesight. It can’t, however, affect its user, something it has in common with Crazy Diamond. As with most close range Stands, S&W has superhuman strength and is capable of rapid punching, though it seems that it is considerably weaker to its previous counterparts, with a lesser grading of its strength compared to Crazy Diamond.

hey there! would your character's stand produce any kind of magical energy that another character could notice?

As far as canon points to, there’s no evidence that Stands come from a magical sort of essence. Stands are more of a metaphysical energy that’s emitted from and formed by their users’ fighting spirit and personality.

Canonically, Stands were first thought up as a concept to explain psychic phenomena (telekinesis, pyrokinesis, telepathy, spiritual mediums, alien possession, spiritual sickness, etc.). So, I think it’s more of a ‘psychic’ energy than it is magical. Another thing to note is that Stands themselves are an image created entirely of the energy they’re made of instead of corporeal beings that emit any, so the Stand someone sees is the energy that it produces.

Only equaling his confusion now, she firmly shook her head. “At least, I don’t think so.” Her powers had only ever manifested as red eyes and the frozen muscles of the people whose gazes she met. She doubted that she could even manage something similar. As she thought about it, she watched the bubble’s ascent and flinched a little as it popped, moreso when she noticed the creature behind him.

“A Stand?” she repeated, the strange word not ringing any bells. There had never been a proper name for what she could do, the girl having never thought to ask before it was too late. But, that strange sense that recognized people with the same type of abilities as her hadn’t reacted at all, so she was fairly sure that this was something completely new. 

She leaned a little to the side to get a better look at the new arrival, finding that if she didn’t look carefully, it faded a little. “He’s kind of… see-through, but I can see him. I don’t have one, though. All I can do is stop people from moving.” She added a little more to her explanation hastily, not wanting to give the impression that people tended to take . “Um, it’s only temporary…”

“...So you can see him, but you don’t have one?” The subsequent tilt of his head in confusion was mimicked by the Stand behind him. Back in his own world, the only people that could ever see his Stand were Stand users themselves. It was invisible to everyone else, and they only reacted whenever they saw something fishy happening around them because of it.

“Stop people from moving... Is that your ability? Do you have an ability Stand? No... I don’t feel the ‘gravity’ from you...” He scratched the back of his head as he thought over what this meant. Could this mean that there were other people around here that had abilities of their own? What if they were dangerous? Would he have to be wary and distrust everyone? If only Yasuho...

“Only temporary... Could you tell me how you do it?”

Fortunately, her voice had carried and brought him to a stop, allowing her to cross the distance between them once she felt a little less winded. He seemed confused, at the very least, which was admittedly better than she had expected. Were she in his place, she would already have ducked behind the closest person in order to work through her nervousness.

When he produced a bubble from thin air, the girl gasped a little, nearly forgetting to answer his question. She nodded, repressing the urge to reach out toward it. Although it was clearly some type of magic, that didn’t mean it was immune to being popped by her fascinated over-eagerness. She’d never seen anything like it before - to the medusa, magical abilities acted mostly on other beings. Affecting the natural world was something that she had only heard stories from her mother of her forebears being capable of.

“How do you do it?” she asked, peering up at him once more.

A tilt of his head was the only action proving the stoic man’s confusion over her reaction. How did he do it? If she could see it, didn’t that mean she had the same ability he did? His irises looked down at the star bubble. The same star as the birthmark on his left shoulder. A light shake of his fingertip and the bubble floated in the air.

“Don’t you have the same thing?” The bubble popped, and from behind him a being emerged, floating a couple feet above him. Mechanical in shape, it was still somewhat transparent, giving it an almost ghostly appearance. The figure moved independently, its feet swaying in the air as it floated.

“Can you see him? If you can, do you have one like him? A Stand...”

Mary didn’t mean to stare, particularly leery of the idea given just what she was, but she couldn’t help it. She had only caught a glimpse of his eyes among the shuffling people and although there wasn’t even a hint of red in them that she or the queen snake that raised its head with mild interest at her question before coiling up again without comment could detect, she was curious. In her experience, eyes that people considered strange were often markers of something special, though some tended to be more afraid of that difference than willing to chase after it, as the medusa did.

“H-hey! Mister!” Her voice didn’t carry very far, extending only just beyond her short paces. She just had to hope that it would be enough, since her stamina remained fairly poor even now. It was a little embarrassing to be calling out to someone she had never met, arms waving in an attempt to catch his attention that was probably doing little more than tiring her out more quickly.

With her hands resting on her knees, the girl’s hoodie flopped over onto her head as she reached the limits of how much she could run in a burst of energy. Still determined not to let her efforts go to waste, she launched out her question without any guarantee that she person she wanted to ask hadn’t vanished into the city once more. “Your eyes… um, this is probably a strange question, but do you have any special powers or– or anything?”

He didn’t know what it was he should do, being stuck in this strange place, without even knowing where exactly he was. Without knowing who exactly he was. He’d taken the first steps through the door and gone through what he needed to, what he was told he needed to do, without a second thought. Yet he still didn’t understand. Didn’t understand completely the implications of what had made him end up in this place.

Didn’t understand, but it was starting to settle in, and the emptiness he saw when he closed his eyes began to envelop. The abyss that he stared at in the dark. The abyss was staring back. He was the abyss, a dark emptiness where a ‘being’ was meant to be. Who was he? He couldn’t answer, and the fact he couldn’t meant--

His inner thoughts were broken up by a girl running after him, catching her breath a few paces behind him. A tilt of his head showed his confusion in earnest, and the question she asked him caused a clear reeling in his face.

“My eyes? Special powers...” He didn’t know who she was. Could he trust her? 

“...Can you see this?” With that, he showed on the tip of his finger a bubble with a star on its figure, one that should not be perceivable by an ordinary person.
