Yoongi doesn’t get why people make such a big deal about celebrating birthdays, like sure it’s one way to gather people and enjoy a day which is fully about yourself. But none of those sound appealing to him; first off he doesn’t like crowds and being too loud and second the last thing he wants is to be the center of everyone’s attention.

Yoongi is the type of person to push other people forward but not himself; he would support and encourage everyone else to go and be front and center but that would definitely not be him, he doesn’t see himself that way, he’s contented with supporting people from behind, cheering them on, motivating them; he’ll be their biggest fan even if Yoongi doesn’t have one himself.

Spending the new year’s eve away from his hometown was not in Kim Taehyung’s bucket list, especially when his birthday was at stake. Away from his friends and family, he hires a rent-a-friend service just to avoid being alone on his birthday. The problem however is that the only Korean person available is the one who has the lowest ratings and comments of ‘I will not go with this man ever again’ under his profile.

“It’s new year’s and it’s also my birthday.” Taehyung said, taking a gulp from his red wine, almost choking out when he heard Yoongi say: “Great, you want a kiss or something?”

Yoongi didn't think it through he really didn't, but he already did it. He has already told Taehyung words he didn't mean to say. Now he is faced with the feeling of guilt just bubbling up inside of him along with the many feelings that were already bottled up from a long time. Whatever it is that made Yoongi did what he did he's not the only one feeling that too, Taehyung also has a lot to unpack and he's not sure if he's ready to unravel all that shit. They're both doctors and they're very good with treating patients, the best even, but the thing is though their the worst at treating their own problems especially towards each other. So much for being a thoracic-surgeon and an er doctor.
