Sometimes I'm like "the human experience is vast and overlapping and I don't think I've ever had a unique experience" but this guy doesn't have that problem.

"Somewhere in the world," my father used to say, "there is a person who is the best at finding the right key, or shaking the right number of pills out of the bottle, or bagging their groceries the most efficiently. Someone has wrapped the most Christmas presents, listened to a song more often than anyone else, talked to friends on the phone the most." That thought always struck me as beautiful and hopeful because maybe I am that person for something, and also a little sad because people like that mostly don't know it, and other people might not find it as remarkable as I do.

This guy knows exactly what he did more and better than anyone else, and cannot respect that in himself, and I find that quietly tragic.
