omg you people can do anything
I'm trying to get worked up over the permanent DST debate but I'm more annoyed by people bitching about the time change than I am the time changing each year.
But the more I think about it, that change back to standard time is rough. I think there's valid arguments to the contrary but for me more daylight in the evening is preferable to more light in the mornings.
Trying to get up and motivated when the sun hasn't even come up is a bitch though, and there's the "kids waiting for the bus" factor that parents seem to care about.
There's no way to make everyone happy, just options that are bad in different ways, so if enough people think the current compromise sucks I guess I'm fine with a new compromise. Because sunset at 5:30pm in December is depressing, even as a night person.
yknow it's kinda fucked up how you can get religous trauma from atheism
It's because atheism, or perhaps more correctly anti-theism, is a religion. It's not actually the absence of religion, that's agnosticism. Atheism is the belief that there are no gods, which is an act of faith regardless of evidence.
People who don't have a dog in the fight don't mock people who believe differently from them. Abusing people because you think what they believe is stupid and what you believe is smart is the same shit fundamentalist Christians do.
The actual intellectual position is admitting you don't know and are open to evidence of any kind, but there is no evidence for or against right now. And I don't think anyone's ever been traumatized by that. Some people who believe that call themselves atheists and that's fine, but it's very different from what people like Richard Dawkins preach.
But I sure as fuck get nervous when someone says they're an atheist, until I know whether or not they mean they're confident everyone but them is wrong about the nature of reality, you know, like a religious fundamentalist. I can see why being raised in that would be traumatic. That sucks.
To put in other words, it's kind of a variation of the "anti-bad guy squad" thing. Thought along the lines of: "If religion is abusive, being anti-religion means you can't be abusive!"
Heroism is about growth, hardship, and sacrefice, and as the YTuber points out, Hollywood is unwilling to let their female protagonist to demonstrate any of them
Everyone knew what would happen but him
I always kinda hate videos like this.
Did you play the ‘Tenchu’ series? Should it be remade for modern consoles?
