greyâs anatomy caused me so much stress and anxiety that i feel like itâs actually made me nonchalant to other fandom rumours. divorce? old news. infidelity? sucks. death? constantly in a state of denial. ghost sex? wouldnât be the 1st time.Â
Owen is going to therapy and getting help and starting a new life all bc his sister was like "youre a garbage man fuck you if you don't go to trauma therapy so HELP YOU GOD" and i love that shit
owenâs character arc is trash. he HAS no arc. heâs just painted as a shitty dude because of his mental illness and it bums me out so fucking bad. Owen was the REASON i got a PTSD diagnosis. His character helped me turn a huge corner in my life. To see him all chalked up now to just a shitty, grimy dude who treats people terribly bc heâs traumatized sucks so damn bad.
breathe (2 am) brings back such vivid memories of a specific period in my life, like when i was watching greys for the first time. i wuv it
when your favorite characters are in the hands of writers who donât really understand them and can do literally anything they want including ruin their whole arcs and personality for drama and theatrics
I know that you think that Owen would be better off on his own for a bit while he works on himself. My question is, what does he need to work on before youâd be OK with an Omelia reunion? For me I want him to understand how closing himself off and pushing Amelia away hurts her, Iâd love to see him take steps to understand addiction, and understand how Betty leaving affected Amelia. I also want him to have a reason for sleeping with Teddy other than that he truly loved her(he was hurting?)
Owen has a lot of emotional scaring, that is something we have been aware of since he first came to the show over a decade ago. Whether it was his experience in Iraq, PTSD, his fatherâs passing, etc. Owen has always repressed his feelings and never dealt with his grief. That works for some people, and not for others; but it seems like it is not working for Owen anymore. He thought it was normal back in Season 13 that Amelia (his wife) didnât know about his father, he lashed out at Teddy in Season 14 when she stood up for herself about not being his second choice and, in Season 15 in lashed out against Amelia multiple times. It is clear to me that Owen needs to take some time, deal with his past grief and find a new way for him to process his emotions. Owen is not a bad guy but his current way of dealing with his emotions is not healthy for him and is as a result affecting the people around him. Like he showed in Season 15 while in the lawyerâs office, his attitude is almost tit for tat - an eye for an eye - but if someone hurts you that doesnât justify you hurting them back. Owen needs to be alone for a while because he needs to be at peace with himself. If he is not comfortable with himself he will never be able to ignore that and build a healthy relationship with anyone else. I am not an expert but that is my approach; putting someone elseâs emotions before your own isnât selflessness, itâs naivety. You canât help others if you donât help yourself; and Owen needs to help himself for now. If he does choose to put his own emotional wellbeing and mental health first, he will have to confront everything you have mentioned anon; he canât escape it. He made those decisions and will have to confront the repercussions of his actions; otherwise he wonât be truly finding peace within himself.Â
Sorry that was so long, that you for your question.Â
Greyâs Anatomy, This Is How We Do It (S07E17)
hey no fucking offense but greyâs anatomy helped me sort through and compartmentalize my trauma so much that i was able to self-admit myself to a psych unit in a hospital, which is my main and biggest trigger. greys is my own kind of exposure therapy, i guess.Â

People say that 50% of American marriages end in divorce but letâs be honest at least a fourth of those are either a Greyâs Anatomy ship or Ross Geller

Owen will choose teddy if he wanted Amelia to fight for her instead or letting her go he is always so confused.
Hi :)
I didnât see Owen as confused, on the contrary, I think he has a lot of clarity about what he wants (and who he wants), which is a nice contrast to how they wrote him on season 14. Of course Owen was caught off guard by the bomb that Teddy dropped, and itâs a lot to process, so anyone would be overwhelmed, but later the same day he voluntarily sought Amelia and affirmed that while he wants to be there for the baby, it doesnât mean he wants to let go of what theyâre building together. Owen didnât even hesitate or showed any signs of mixed feelings about which woman he loves. I didnât see any confusion in him, only astonishment, which is to be expected. After all, he is getting something heâs always wanted (being a father) but in the least ideal conditions.Â
I actually think itâs an extraordinary thing what Owen and Amelia did in this episode. I really donât like these circumstances and everything about the storylines they were given, but the silver lining about this situation is that weâre back to seeing the Owen and Amelia we fell in love with.
I for one loved seeing the two of them showing respect and consideration for each other rather than attacking one another (like they had been doing throughout season 14). It was a brilliant moment for Amelia to acknowledge that she canât point a finger at Owen because she was the one who handed him off to Teddy on a silver platter (itâs a very nice contrast to that moment and how easily she relinquished him, and also to the season 14 premiere). Amelia had âsentâ Owen to Teddy twice before and this time around, itâs not what happened. Instead, she made it clear that she isnât indifferent to this, on the contrary. But she is the woman Owen fell in love with, the bigger person, the one who will take a step back and say âyou should consider all your options, not because of me, but because you owe it to yourself.â The fact she told him he is a good man is a nice bonus, because even though Owen has screwed up a lot, he has always been very devoted to taking care of everyone around him, âdoing the right thingâ, even if that often meant neglecting to take care of himself. It was a great display of positive reinforcement.Â
In the meantime, Owen was great too, because he never once encouraged Teddy or rejected Amelia. Not only did he pursue Amelia and told her without any reservation that he doesnât want to let go of what they have, he also seemed pretty heartbroken by the empty house later on. Finally, we didnât see Owen acting like the impulsive, crazy person they made him on season 14, but rather he was back to the serene, experienced, balanced guy he became around season 12 and 13. I just loved how considerate of Amelia he was.
Overall, I think it was a nice contrast to the way they had been treating each other when something came along their way. Instead of running, accusing or shutting down in uncomfortable silence, there was communication, devotion, consideration. And of course, a lot of love. Like I said, I donât like any of the storylines Owen and Amelia were given (the tumor, the foster family, Teddyâs pregnancy). But I have to admit that the show has improved a lot in exploring them through these, and making me feel like they are once again the people I fell in love with rather the ghosts they had become throughout most of season 14.
