K Return of Kings Episode 12

I’m one who normally sits on the sidelines of the K fandom, but I felt something needed to be said about the details the official translation missed. It lead to some of the awesomeness and depth of what transpired between Yata and Fushimi being lost.

「オレはセプター4の伏見猿比古ってヤツすげーと思う」 Sub: Fushimi Saruhiko of Scepter 4 is a standup guy in my book. Literally: I think Fushimi Saruhiko of Scepter 4 is friggin’ amazing.

“Amazing”. Yata calling Fushimi amazing for being capable of doing extraordinary things, just as middle school aged Yata did back in Lost Small World, words that had a big impact on Fushimi’s heart. Here we see Yata praising him again in the same fashion, like old times.

「単純でバカで考えなし、何もわかってねえくせに… いきなり100点の答えを出してくることがあるんだからなぁ…」 Sub: He’s simple-minded, stupid, ignorant, and doesn’t get a thing… And yet he’s still able to come up with the perfect answer… Literally: He’s simple-minded, an idiot, empty-headed, and doesn’t get a thing… Yet despite that, there are times that he can pull a 100 point answer out of the blue.

“100 points”. Another Lost Small World reference, speaking back to middle school aged Fushimi’s habit of assigning a grade to Yata’s ability to understand him which was either 0 (not understanding Fushimi at all) or 100 (understanding Fushimi completely).
