Pusha T vs. Drake

When you’re both a Pusha T and a Drake fan... This beef is so good man. Duppy Freestyle was alright i guess, but then Pusha dropped The Story of Adidon and completely ethered Drake. I mean i felt bad for him cause Push completely called out his family life and exposed a son :0. I was the biggest Drake fan 2012-15 era but I’ll admit I kinda fell off religiously listening to Drake. I fuck with Nice For What because if you sample Ms. Lauryn Hill I will have the song on repeat. Drake is unavoidable, so obviously everyone listens to him and knows who he is. Pusha T, on the other hand, is not played on the radio so most casual rap listeners and pop culture fanatics rule him out. He is the PRESIDENT of G.O.O.D. Music for fuck’s sake, but people don’t pay attention to whats going on behind the scenes. They probably never listened to Clipse either. I’m not saying Push is my favorite rapper or anything, I’m only saying that people don’t understand that he has been around for so long because he makes quality music and he is very talented lyrically. Anyways, I predict this to be a very divisive beef (not like Drake vs. Meek where Meek didn’t really do anything to help his cause back then). Both these guys are going to keep going neck to neck until someone cracks, I mean it has gotten severely personal already. Honestly this is some good shit and I’m excited for whatever good music comes out of this lol. Catch me standing on the sideline not picking a side and reaping the benefits that come from all of the music that will bless my ears this summer.

Of all the amazing Otis Redding songs there are, this one is my favorite. The song itself is very peaceful to listen to. Sometimes all a song needs is a voice singing over a simple instrumental. The addition of the waves makes you feel like you are sitting right next to Redding on that dock. I also happen to enjoy just sitting on the dock of the bay, or the lake in my experience. Every summer for a week in July, I find myself at night with my feet dangling off a broken dock. Its only purpose is as a seat to stare off into the sunset from. It is a place to contemplate my life and feel my place in the world. On the darkest nights it is the most beautiful place in the world to be. The entire galaxy appears and wraps you up in it, making you wonder where you are headed in life. There is always so much else going on in the world that sometimes you just need to reminisce and let things play out as they will. The dock is the place I head when I feel like this. Luckily I am only there for a week, or I would never get anything done. But when I am there, like Redding, I will be sitting on the dock from morning till evening with my troubles lessening each time the tide rolls away.

the blog

i was inspired by Tyler, The Creator's Golf Magazine to start this blog about shit i like. i only actually got the first edition of the magazine due to my "being broke as fuck" reasons ;). in it he writes about different albums he likes, and a lot of this blog will probably be about music. in addition to that i will write about any other random thing that comes to mind, so the possibilities are endless. why i think anyone cares about what i like, i don't know. i'm not very good at introductions so i will leave you with this..
