Imagine being just some guy who writes movie soundtracks nobody cares about, and one day they ask you to compose the music for a movie called âStar Trek IIâ. You donât even watch TV so you donât know the series and the first movie didnât impress you, but a job is a job so thatâs fine I guess. Imagine reading the script and thinking âokay, everything else will be obvious in the visuals so Iâm going to do the entire soundtrack about the relationship between Kirk and Spock, Idk it looks like a good ideaâ, and then the movie is a success and everyone loves Kirk and Spockâs affection for each other and you think âwell I guess I was rightâ and they ask you to work on the sequel that is even more focused on them, and you get popular for your work and you do a lot of things and 15 years later you become super famous as the guy who did the music for Titanic (which is, coincidentally, a movie taking place inside a ship focused on two people who love each other and when the ship is in danger one of them diesâŠÂ just a coincidence, of course)
