here's a thought. the government shouldn't have the right to execute anyone
it's obvious that the death penalty allows for police and politicians to not just disproportionately lock up but literally murder people of color, especially black men. and it's obvious that there are tons of flaws in our judicial system and how cases are handled by the police and in courts, and that again people of color experience those flaws much more frequently and at worse degrees. and even from an economic perspective choosing to executing 1 person costs more than sentencing them to life in prison (which i don't support either btw).
but even without all this, the government should not have the right to fucking kill people, whether or not they committed a crime. even if that crime was murder. the united states is one of 53 countries that still practice the death penalty.
like i just don't understand how this is a debate. it's an archaic and barbaric practice that shouldn't fucking exist

Friendly PSA to non-Jews:
Rosh Hashanah begins at sundown on Sunday, September 29th and lasts through sundown Tuesday, October 1st.
Yom Kippur begins at sundown on Tuesday, October 8th and lasts until Wednesday night, October 9th.
During these days, please be thoughtful of those who observe them by not scheduling meetings, conference calls, or deadlines. For teachers, please do not schedule tests, presentations, or other mandatory activities. And remember that many of us host family and/or other guests for these holidays.
For those who celebrate Christmas, imagine if everyone wanted something from you between the mornings of December 24th and December 26th while you had multiple things cooking, preparations to be in services, and family and friends coming over.
Be thoughtful, kind, and inclusive.
And greetings: âHappy New Yearâ is appropriate to say on Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year. âHave an easy fastâ is appropriate to say on Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement when Jews traditionally fast for 25 hours.
Thank you!!
Being shortsighted isnât a good look.

This is the exact same propaganda that got spread to get people to not vote for Hillary. Donât buy into it and start thinking people like Bernie or Warren are bad choices because theyâre still the best options for your votes right now

American Girl stories were the best tbh
Dude, read the books, she and her mom freed themselves in Book 1. We donât disrespect American Girl in this house

Talking about unresolvable bad blood, itâs very important to me that some members of the fellowship actually donât get along and just never will. I get the desire to manufacture rad friendship dynamics between very different people but youâve also gotta have a few motherfuckers that a character canât stand so that the actual âsurprisingâ friendships have a contrast to them to make them more impactful. Not only that, it emphasises the kind of strange camaraderie that the Fellowship represents, theyâre all working towards a common goal and sure Legolas will risk his life for Boromir but⌠a conversation? You couldnât pay him to tryâŚÂ It also just makes everything WAY funnier too.Â
This ok, this is where the magic is.
