Gr. 7 - Starting with the wrong foot
Ā Well, the dragon girl was quite an enthusiast one, that was for sure. Maribelle let go a sigh, looking for an amount of patience she wasnāt sure to have after falling to the ground and injuring her ankle in the most ridiculous way possible. She brushed aside the merchantās concern once more, turning her attention to the manakete.
"Ridiculous? Furious? Terribly and utterly disappointed with the world itself? Perhaps all of these things at once, I dare to say", she suggested to finish off the phrase Nowi had uttered, in her usual sarcastic way. She managed to soften her own tone. "I am glad you are enjoying the festivities here, donāt get me wrong. At least one of us is having a good time. Alas, I am afraid I canāt say the same. I think I injured my ankle while I fell trying to dodge that" she pointed with her head at the caravan that almost ran over her, her own face blushing angrily as she remembered how terribly embarrassing the thought of the mere scene was, "Not only that, it seems the people of this town doesnāt care if another person has an accident. In fact it seems to amuse them", she glared towards the crowd that had formed lately to see what happened. Nobody was laughing now, that was for sure, and some of them even passed by as if they didnāt want to know anything else about the incident. The noblewoman didnāt know what angered her the most.
"Thus, I need to get out of the crowd, as soon as possible. As you can see, I donāt have my healing staff with me", in fact it seemed ridiculous to her to use it to heal an injured ankle. It wasnāt an injury so significant to spend healing power on that, so for her it was a waste of time. "Maybe, if you arenāt doing anything else significant, you could help me with that." She looked at the dress she chose to wear for the occasion, and sighed to see it was now ruined, with mud stains that would be a nightmare to get off. She has an idea then, and with all the pride and poise a girl of her position could have, she looked again at the nervous merchant. "You there. Maybe there is something you can do to make up for your faults. You will pay for my spoiled dress here. Then, maybe, the duchy of Themis wonāt take retaliation against you for almost ramming that thing against its heiress" She raised her chin, seeing how the man grew pale quickly and accepted her condition handing her a bag of gold; that helped to calm herself down a bit. "Thank you. Thatās most kind of you."
She then turned to Nowi again. āSo, shall we go then?ā
"Whoa, that's a lot of things to be feeling at once." Nowi's smile turned upside down. "And they didn't help you? That's pretty rude. Should I eat them and restore your honor?"
The manakete suddenly grinned. A wind came by and picked up her cape, so it was blowing valiant behind Nowi as she placed her hands on her hips.Ā
"It would be my pleasure to help you out, Maribelle!" she reached into her garter pocket and pulled out her dragonstone. "Let me just turn into a dragon, eat the citizens of this town, and fly us out here to freedom!"
