I have reblogged this so much but it is seriously so important to me. Of course she has been through a lot, but you forget exactly how much she has had to deal with until it is all laid out for you. When she says “I just got back” it is easy to assume that she is talking about her final fight with JD and the explosion. It never occurred to me until seeing this that she was talking about EVERYTHING that has happened. It just makes the line so much more powerful.

He can’t finish the sentence, it’s cut off by a round of coughing on his own blood. He can only watch as she grabs the bomb.

He hesitates, before following her.

The bomb is lighter than she expected. It takes both hands but even while limping she can make it out the door quickly. The ticking feels like her heart in her chest. It’s ironic really she thinks as she collapses at the bottom of the steps, she never got to write her own suicide note.  

She looks up and gasps, seeing him at the top of the steps. 

“Stay away from me!”
