Sitting up with a start Aaron blinked away the sleep as he quickly wiped the corners of his mouth and then his eyes. Ever since he had gotten the call at 3:30am he had been up and in the hospital by her side. Details of what had happened were a little hazy but the summary was she had been in a crash and ironically the emergency contact was him. Even though they had broken up two months ago. She had been unconscious when he first got in and now six hours later she was starting to wake up…and so was he considering he had crashed beside her bed once he knew that she was going to be okay just bumps, scratches and some bruised or broken ribs. “Hey there—-you want the nurse or doctor? You were in a car accident…” Now she was awake it was ten times more awkward for him sitting there, knowing they weren’t together but being there for her just came so naturally to him after their time together. Regardless of them being together or not he was always going to be there for her and care for her, especially now when she needed him.

nadia exhaled sharply as she began to regain consciousness, throbbing pain consuming her almost instantly. her eyes attempted to adjust to the harsh hospital lighting, as a student nurse she wasn’t unfamiliar with ward settings, though being a patient was an entirely new experience for her. overwhelmed with an array of emotions, mainly fear and confusion, she hadn’t even noticed aaron by her side right away, scrambling to sit up despite the pain the moment he speaks, wincing instantly. “ i - i - ” a dazed expression envelops her features, shaky hand reaching to rub the back of her head as she attempts to process not only the accident, but why of all people he is here. to some extent it brought her instant comfort to have him by her side, though they were no longer together, nadia still cared immensely for him, it’d been months since they had spoken, and so to know he still cared enough to be by her side right now, was overwhelming. perhaps under more ordinary circumstances she would be more reserved, but frightened as she was, still disoriented from painkillers, with tears brimming she shook her head pathetically. “ no - no - aaron don’t get anyone - just - just stay here. ”
