Them as asks can't have.
I wish people would stop reminding me that I'm going to die alone and that it's my own fault for even wanting a relationship in the first place. And that if I'm miserable it's only ever my own fault.
I hate people. They don't care about the family or the sanctity of life, and it makes me want to die.
Body language - another thing the series failed at
To preface this, I do not consider the series canon (as with anything released post TDW due to it being extremely ooc and contradictory to the established canon) but I think this is something many series fans don't realise even though it's glaringly obvious. I did not include comparison photos because I think I'm speaking for many og Loki fans when I say we have seen far too much of this joke of an attempt to depict our favourite character and we don't need more of that.
I am not going to list every single instance I've got in mind because there are far too many and tumblr has its limits but these are details I consider important.
Loki does not move a whole lot, but that doesn't mean he's not aware of his surroundings, quite the opposite in fact. You have to keep in mind that, unlike Thor who has the opposite personality (is very expressive) and is the crown prince, Loki is the tactician; he was raised with the goal of being there for Thor to provide counsel would it be needed. He's quiet, subtle and observant. He has to be. X
(Notice how he goes from not looking at a fixed point while listening to Odin to looking at Thor when he speaks)
I also noticed Loki is very efficient in how he moves, which is probably the most apparent in TA due to what he's gone through up to that point and the lasting effects of that. His movements are very controlled and precise. He does not waste his energy on what's not required by the situation. He looks directly at the people giving him infomation, he does not flinch when Clint fires and his movement oscillates between being either very slow or faster than that of the people around him. The scene of his arrival to Midgard is a great example of that. X
Then there's his interaction with the Other. This scene shows us that even though he is directly threatened, with the Other in his personal space, he remains still. Yes, he flinches, because that kind of blinking is his giveaway of being nervous (you can also see this during his sentencing in TDW) but he doesn't move.
Speaking of nervous gestures, I can't leave out the picking at his hand that he shares with Frigga but I'm sure we all know that one.
Kurse/Loki scene
Loki's stillness and stealth is accompanied by his microexpressions in which lies a lot of his expression. You can find these in pretty much every one of his scenes in the trilogy. He is not overt with how he presents and it's easy to overlook some of these cues because of how subtle and short they can be which is precisely who he is. He is not obvious and loud like Thor, you have to really pay attention to understand him which adds to the complexity of his character.
The series missed this completely. I feel like they wrote their character with zero understanding of who he is and similarly to what you see in children's shows so the viewers would understand and not strain their brains thinking about what they're watching. The person they wrote is not and will never be Loki.
I think we all know this feeling unfortunately
Settling in to read a new fic with a reader tag, it has a promising description filled with smut and angst…
only to see it’s in the first person and the “reader” has a name and preset appearance
i at least wish the loki series was named something other than "loki". i have the tags "loki series" and "loki show" and such blocked, but often people just tag it as... "loki". and i can't block that tag. which means i still have to look at all this stuff
You know what, dear journalists? Damn you.
Loki already broke the 4th wall. At sdcc 2013. The outstanding part is that Loki -unlike other 4th wall breaks- didn’t enter “our” world in doing so, but pulled “us” into his. That is the power only OG Loki has.
Just saw gifs of the variant’s outfit in the finale.. day = ruined. Please it’s so ugly and I hate the reasoning behind it so badly they’re always trying to strip Loki of who he is and it’s so sad like so what if he wants to wear the attire of his home realm where he is also royalty mind you 😞 now I have to go on a rant..
Not only was he stripped of his personality but also of anything that represented him. How anyone who claims to love Loki can tolerate this series, I have no idea. It was written by people who do not like Loki, or his fans. Like okay so the diminishing of Loki’s character is alright just because they put a scene of him crying for one episode while also skipping over the major event he previously went through to go on and talk about other characters and their struggles oh don’t piss me off.
The whole concept fucking pisses me off from the get go. I do not care about an alternate version of Loki. I think series fans fail to realize that our dislike of the series does not only lie with the mischaracterization. It also lies with the entire concept of the series. Loki had already existed for a decade before the series came out, and his own story was left unfinished. Why would I care about an alternate version of him from the Avengers (immediately before he was able to go through his most important character development in TDW btw) when he couldn’t even be written consistently after 2013?
Loki fan to Loki “fan”, I don’t care how much merch you have. I don’t care if you’ve met Tom multiple times. I don’t care if you’ve watched the movies (but I mean if they actually did, I figure something would click eventually) every single day. If you truly believe that the series did justice to Loki’s character as well as respected the previous writer’s work that implemented and laid down the definitive traits and aspects of his character for years only for them to get overlooked and completely erased in a few episodes a decade later, you do not love Loki. You are not a fan.
There are so many series diehards that have SO much merch or have met Tom like 30 times and it boggles my mind. Like you don’t even like Loki enough to see the difference of his characterization from 2011 to 2013 (or even fucking Ragnarok at this point. He still had at least a few aspects of who he is in it. I hate to defend it because it did him wrong as well, but I’ve got to be honest) vs in this this garbage ass series that bears his name, but does nothing except diminish it. Why be so invested financially in something you cannot think critically about? How do you not like… sense the difference?
I’ve also met Tom and have a LOT of merch. Is that what makes me a fan? No, Because what makes me a fan is my love for Loki and my dislike of the ignorance towards his character. I’m not saying this towards casual fans who enjoyed the series and bought a funko pop. Like i really don’t give a fuck and I’m not expecting them to know anything about Loki. But I’d expect better from people who claim to be his fans.
In 2021 when the series first came out, I was critical from the beginning. I did not like the concept, and also didn’t really trust marvel with doing anything good with Loki. When I watched that first episode, I just knew it was over from the first few minutes or so. And I was a fairly new fan of Loki!! Like how could anyone accept this bullshit? Also I could’ve swore so many more people disliked it then. I’ll never forget it lol my entire TikTok FYP was just people shitting on the episodes each week. Especially the finale. They were like “yeah guys uh.. Maybe it’ll get better.” Then the finale came out and everyone flipped LOL
I don’t care if people think I’m harsh for saying any of this. You straight up are not a Loki fan if you’re a fan of the series. You like the idea of him maybe, but you don’t like him for who he truly is and that’s sad because neither did the characters around him. Misunderstood in canon as well as by his own “fans” it’s so over.
Oh also notice how series fans pretty much never talk about TDW. They cannot comprehend an MCU project that takes place directly after the Avengers and actually does Loki’s character right. Lmfao.
Loki “fans” if they were forced to actually enjoy his character in canon instead of only in fanon for one second:
They’d be so surprised that he dares to stick up for himself, and has a fucking personality and motives of his own.
One of the biggest issues I have with the Loki series is that I just don't see Loki anymore, it's just Tom Hiddleston acting. There is no Loki. He is gone. Haven't seen him since TDW.
Why Disney decided to take an incredibly popular and interesting and complex character with high potential to carry a popular show, and then strip him of everything that made him a good and interesting character resulting in a garbage mess of a show will never stop being a mystery to me. I mean they hurt themselves with this!
Something that really pisses me off is this assumption that because you dislike the current direction with Loki and Thor’s characters, it must mean that you “hate comedy” and “want everything to be serious and gloomy”. As if the only form of comedy that exists is weird, random antics. What is this attitude that thor and loki were never funny in the previous films? The only difference is that the comedy was formed based on their personalities and conflicts with other people or situations, rather than just them being stupid or quirky.
The moment you realize there are still directors left in Hollywood that know the characters and appreciate the early Thor movies for their complexity!! 😭😭😭 where is the petition to have this guy direct all future Loki content??

Huh. That’s fascinating. I really thought I was out on a weird fandom limb here preferring the more serious tone of the earlier Thor films. Nice to see it echoed by someone in the industry. I hope he didn’t get too slammed by responses to this.
Also, I just watched the clip linked here and damn, I keep forgetting how gripping it was. Even coming in cold to this little moment there’s such high stakes I find myself hanging on Odin’s every word. Sure, it’s one of the key moments of the film, but still - it’s good. Like really good.
It’s okay to take the fantastical seriously. There’s a good reason Lord of the Rings is another one of my favourite films. Build me a fully fleshed out world dammit!
Sir Ken could save the Loki mess if they’d turn loose some freakin’ cash.
Glad I’m not the only one who doesn’t like TW’s direction. Actually, I can’t stand him. He’s too full of himself, and everything is a joke.
I hate feminism. It's so horrible and disgusting and toxic. Just because you're a woman doesn't give you the right to do whatever you want regardless of how damaging and hurtful it is to everyone else.
Am I the only one who hates how in x reader fics they always make y/n this cool girl who mocks all the male characters because she doesn’t have time for there “nonsense” like why is that such a common trope? Especially in mcu fics
Everyone else would be better off if I was dead.
Don't ever say I'm strong, that just makes everything worse.
