VARIATION: canon // code name; ‘wacky dru’ FULL NAME: drusilla keeble DATE OF BIRTH: january 19, middle of 19th century DATE OF SIRING: 1860 (sired by angelus) // 1880 (sired spike) SPECIES: vampire // seer RELATIONSHIP STATUS: single (formerly in a relationship with spike) ASSOCIATES: angelus/angel (sire); spike/william pratt (former partner); darla (’grandmother’) BIOGRAPHY: drusilla’s life is a tragic one. her family regarded her as an agent of the devil, she was tormented by her own abilities and her religious beliefs, and then when she sought a path to god, god failed her when angelus came along. tortured, tormented and forced to witness the brutal killings of her family at the hands of angelus, whatever string connecting her to reality was severed. turned by her family’s killer, not only was drusilla kept in a permanent state of youth but she was also kept in a permanent state of madness. over time the pure, innocent girl who feared the retribution of god for her visions quickly morphed into a vicious, sadistic, murderous predator who was almost on par with her notorious sire. the only potential she displayed of any retaining features of humanity was her attraction to william pratt - soon known as spike. but even in a moment when it was spike or her sire, her loyalty laid in the man who had turned her into what she was.
VARIATION: alternative canon // code name; ‘sane dru’ FULL NAME: drusilla elizabeth josephine keeble DATE OF BIRTH: january 19, 1837 DATE OF SIRING: 1860 (aged 23; sired by angelus) // 1880 (sired spike) SPECIES: vampire // seer // dabbles in darker forces RELATIONSHIP STATUS: in a committed relationship (with william pratt/spike) FAMILY: edward alan keeble (father; deceased); ruby keeble neé cooper (mother; deceased); josephine keeble (sister; deceased); amelia keeble (sister; deceased) BIOGRAPHY: unlike her canonical counterpart, drusilla’s mental strength in regards to angelus’ torture was a little more prominent. even after being turned after hours of torture, torment and trapped in a room with the mutilated corpses of her family, drusilla managed to maintain a level of sanity and control over herself that was unexpected. feeling a sense of great fury toward her sire but also a terrible fear for him, drusilla became acutely aware of her ability to manipulate and play with others’ perceptions. with angelus, she pretended he was a father figure to her and acted submissively and childishly around him. darla was wiser to drusilla’s act, but showed a genuine admiration to how convincing she could be and set about utilising drusilla’s acting skills for the benefit of the group.
after twenty years of roaming with angelus and darla, drusilla became increasingly attracted to the very thing that maintained her anger toward her sire for so many years: torture and murder. killing was becoming a pleasurable act rather than a necessity for nutrition, and the further drusilla sunk into the blood and carnage that came with her made-family, the less aware of her remaining pieces of humanity she became. until spike. there was something about his tragedy, his uncertainty, the shakiness in his aura that drew her to him, that compelled her to follow him until she found him alone, whimpering in the darkness. for the longest time, she didn’t think she was capable of love or attraction; her whole world had been consumed with rage and pain that when she laid her eyes on william pratt that one fated night, she didn’t want to leave without him. ever since, she has never left without him.
