How Bleach should have ended:

Okay I read the last chapter, I accept and respect Kudo’s ending even though I am disappointed with it since I like IchiRuki and IshiHime. But after 13 years, I deserve to have some fun, alright? So, this isn’t canon but it’s how I feel Bleach should have ended (working with the chapter). No disrespect. Just having fun! 

Good bye, Bleach. Still one of my favourite manga/anime. :)

Let me put their (IR Fans) grievance into perspective:

Fifteen years of developing Ichigo and Rukia’s bond; an entire movie dedicated to it; color pages showing the two characters together, and multiple poems for them, including two that give their bond the titles “The Story of Destiny”, and “The Two that Share Destiny”.

But come the final chapter of the series, it is the busty Human girl who pined for Ichigo since the beginning of the series who gets him, despite being afraid of him at one point in the Hueco Mundo arc, and crying for his half-dead body to save her in another part of it.

By all accounts, the fact that Rukia and Ichigo had no meaningful character interactions in the final arc, instead sticking them with Renji and Inoue, respectively, implies that Kubo realized that the only way to make the ending pairings “believable” was to effectively demean and diminish Ichigo and Rukia’s interactions and bonds outright in the final arc.

This is not some bratty whiny over shipping wars; this is Kubo giving a big “F*** YOU!” to the people who watched the bond between Ichigo and Rukia develop and grow throughout the story, with all the material Kubo himself made supporting being thrown away along with all of it.
