I've seen a bunch of "fandom etiquette" posts on my dash today and I'm going to say something that is maybe going to be unpopular but;

The absolutely pervasive mentality that unwanted criticism or critique shouldn't be given and should be ignored is why fans of color don't stay in fan spaces.

And I am not going to mince words here:

A lot of you are racist. A lot of your fan works are racist.

That might have been difficult to hear. And if it was, you should probably reflect on why that was.

"Fandom etiquette" has created a space where fans of color either bite our tongues and eventually leave or say something, get dogged on, and then eventually leave.

So much of "fandom etiquette" seems to be about insulating creatives from Feeling Bad and hostility to any kind of negative feedback is a pretty big contributor to why bigotry festers in these spaces.

so basically, i was planning out a claymation thing that i’m gonna do (it’s gonna be my second time ever doing it, yippe). and yeah! i drew some unintelligible unhinged sketches of these two. it looks like patrick bateman took over my body and drafted these.

i also changed a couple of things but it’s gonna look like this for the most part.

another thing too is i drafted these tinfoil/taped heads. my clay hasn’t arrived yet and i got impatient soooo i made these. i don’t know they’re kinda cute, lol. they probably won’t be utilized but they’re cute. anyways, here are they!

(trust the process, folks. they look a little lumpy, lol).

here’s my two ocs that i made when i was in middle school many, many, MANY- years ago: myrna shakouri and maryjane!!!

some background: myrna is a voice actress that voiced maryjane (the fox girl) for the bendy cartoons. maryjane is kinda like scrappy-doo: she only existed because joey drew wanted more ratings (he thought that getting a well-known celebrity would help his show. didn’t help that myrna actually REALLY enjoyed the bendy cartoons— I SURE HOPE SHE DOESN’T GET MANIPULATED BY HIM-).

oh, and one thing that i like about maryjane’s design is that you can tell that it was rushed. THAT was on done on purpose. i’m a very smart person.

so yeah, i decided to redraw them again (i changed a couple of things). hope you like it!

andre - i kid you not, sounds like this guy (i’ve never watched the show. i think my dad has that’s why i know the clip). but i feel like he would have a nasally voice like that he’s literally a programmer and helps moscovich make robots for the company. of course he’s a weasel (joke!! ily andy).

o.z.a - haven’t decided what she sounds like yet because i enjoy “really quiet soft voice with a robot filter over it” but i also enjoy “maya from borderlands but with a robot filter” voice too… AHHH, i don’t know!!!!1!!1
