Bill Skarsgård in Castle Rock, Season 1 Episode 9
Watching Sissy Spacek’s dementia character setting chess pieces throughout her house while watching her own memories is the most fucking depressing thing.
I’m going with a different idea, so I’ll share what I finished of this. :()
I’m rewatching Castle Rock and will post some feelings/thoughts as they come.
So far: When Pangborn tells Andre/Henry that “they’ve been going to a clinic in Boston” for treatment for Ruth. Bill/Henry was working in Boston on a cure for Alzheimer’s when we first meet him in his world in Episode 9. Just a nuanced parallel but interesting nonetheless.
i didn’t even make that connection oh my god
If it’s any consolation, this is my third spin on this show and I never noticed before either. I’m trying to just watch more objectively and not think too hard this time around and see what I pick up. Also, Bill is a goddamn snack.
i can’t help but wonder if Ruth is doing ok in Henry/Bill’s world. if the passage of time will follow the timeline that we saw on castle rock. But at least she has Alan still in the other timeline. like what if she forgets about her son because of what Henry/Andre did in episode 10.
everyone: “the kid is the devil”
the kid: *eats wonder bread and doesn’t talk*
here’s a theory for you hoes the kid doesn’t have special powers he’s just stuck in the wrong place at the wrong time. towards the end of the season we see the kid is actually henry deaver in another universe. and henry deaver in the current universe he’s stuck in is the kid in his universe. they swap rolls and now everything’s fucked up. the sound is the universes literally shifting and a ripple in space and time opening. The Kid knows he doesn’t belong there and thats why so much destruction happens. He doesn’t cause it however he only knows it’s going to happen, the universe he’s in is trying to eject him from it, because once again he doesn’t belong there

Castle Rock rewatch notes #2
Young Andre/Henry had a soap carving in his hand when he was found on the lake by Pangborn. The same type of figurine that Bill/Henry’s character made. Both were learned from Father Matthew in Bill/Henry’s world which is proof that Andre/Henry was there and that Bill/Henry’s Episode 9 story of being from another universe and passing through the Schisma when he returned is fact.

What someone need to do to start think that The Kid was really portrayed as the Devil (acted like a devil, looked like a devil, wanted to destroy the world, and what else should the devil do there)? It is necessary to fulfill three important conditions. Strictly in this order. It's dangerous to confuse.
1) don't watch Castle Rock at all
2) don't watch Castle Rock at all
3) and also don't watch Castle Rock at all (it is very important!)
What the most unusual headcanons about The Kid or other Castle Rock characters do you have?
I don’t have an unusual headcanon, I think. I just want at least one of Zalewski’s to be alive and save The Kid, at least in fanfiction
And one thing I forget to say all the time. This is headcanon, of course. But I’m surprised why I am the first person to say that.
I think The Kid can open some doors without a key not because of magic or “he is just not in his world, but in parallel world so it works like this”. He can’t open any door. He can’t open doors that are closed only mechanically (for example, not only the door of his cage, but also door from a cell at the police station). But he can open doors that can be opened with a card. Why? Maybe because he has a chip in his palm or wrist, which either was broken and now has a code that can open many doors or was originally intended for this.
If I were the author of Castle Rock, I would use this idea.
Two different boys, two different timelines, one story…
“Dennis Zalewski deserved better.”
— everyone ever
Henry Deaver, Henry Deaver, Henry Deaver and Dennis Zalewski
how many times can one fucking town look the other way?
I rescued you from that basement. And I didn’t ask for any of this.
