Delia's used him to fight against Jessie and James and Butch and Cassidy before. But in Journeys, he's with Ash and he uses him in a tournament. You should watch "Serving Up the Flute Cup!", Mimey's a badass

I feel like there are a lot of people who watched the pokemon anime infrequently because y'know we were all kids. So I just wanna say a few things about Mimey that people commonly either forget or just miss because of how saterday morning cartoons worked back in the day.

Mimey was adopted into the ketchem household during the midpoint of the first season. Delia didn't have Mr Mime prior to Ash starting his adventure. (This is something a lot of people get wrong.)

Mimey is a fighter, in his first apperance he 1v1'd a tank and won (granted it was being operated by the Team Rocket trio so of course he won, but still.)

Mimey has also contributed to multiple fights, mostly to defend Delila and Professor Oak.

Mimey's combat abilities were further showcased during the Journey's Series (video'd above) where he is shown being a very confident and competent fighter, even being a bit cocky and downright scary. He also helps Ash rain his Riolu before it evolves into a Lucario

What's my point? My point is that Mimey would clean your clock both literally and metaphorically. He is not dangerous because Delila or Ash trained him to be. He is dangerous because he is dangerous. Be thankful he would likely offer you a cup of tea if you met him, and pray you do not spill it on the couch or carpet.
